All the new starters look retarded. Especially the penguin one. What the hell is up with that?
3467  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Odin Sphere out in US May 22nd, Dual language on: April 19, 2007, 11:24:08 AM
Thank you very much for that information.

Without your scintillating and glorious thought processes, I never would've even begun to deduce that May is one month away from April. Who would have thought that the fifth month of the years comes exactly one month after the fourth month of the year? I mean, that's just way out there. Praise the Lord and Hallelujah that one as ingenius as you inhabits God's green Earth. Without you the rest of us would be like headless chickens, or sheeps without a shepherd. You are a guiding light for us all.

Damn the Thrashers got thrashed.  I didn't see the game but it must have been painful.

Ph, the irony...
3470  The Rest / General Discussions / Sofa Company Ships Racist Couch on: April 13, 2007, 11:50:12 AM
Except they didn't say "We are truly sorry this has happened and we will ensure this will never happen again in the future." They said, "Whoopsie, someone dropped the ball. Don't look at us!"

Super Robot Wars W - Undoubtedly the most hilarious battle ever to appear in any game:
Mazinger Z's villain attacks Jindai High Shcool (Full Metal Panic) and gets obliterated by a team of Bonta-Kuns. After screaming "CURSE YOU BONTA KUN" he brings in reinforcements, after which Voltron and GaoGaiGar arrive on the scene and slap him around some more with BLAZING SWORD and HELL AND HEAVEN.

No, this isn't about a couch that screams racial slurs whenever you sit on it, it's a couch that's called a racial slur.

And of course the executives at the company play the usual blame shifting game. Spineless wimps.

While some of the points are valid, it's mostly stuff we've either heard before. How many times do you need to beat someone over the head with the Sony split or the Virtual Boy before we get tired of it? While TRUE, it's basically all been said, over and over and over and over... and OVER.

I could ask the same of you. How many times do we need to hear that Sony's retarded with their $599 PS3 and their retarded ass comments and their Home? But apparently nobody cares, since it's hip and cool to bash on Sony today, just like it was hip and cool to like Sony back when Nintendo was a bunch of jackasses.

As to the whole Wii thing... Y'know what? People started this call-it-early bullshit back with The Wind Waker, Blu-Ray, etc. Granted I've taken part in it from time to time, but it's really, really dumb. The consoles haven't been in the market for six months yet and everyone's jumping on one bandwagon or another about failure. GIVE IT TIME PEOPLE.

"Time to time"? If you say so.

Anyway, the more I think about it, the more I wonder why people jump on the Nintendo bandwagon so fast. If they make it back to number one, it could mean the return of those cutthroat tactics that caused their fall from grace in the first place. I remember having to pay $70 for one game during the SNES era. $70! And it was all because Nintendo was a bunch of assholes who bled everyone for everything they were worth. As much flak as Sony gets today, what Nintendo did before was easily ten times worse.

The guy made some valid points, but I felt he was mostly being baised against Nintendo. Creating the Wii part was pretty stupid imo. Too soon to say if the gamble was worth it. The whole online thing, while its understandable, I find it overrated imo.

Are you kidding? Xbox Live is one of the 360's main selling points and Nintendo up and goes "People don't want online games"? That's pretty much the epitome of retardation if you ask me.

Anyway, like the article said, during the Super Nintendo to Nintendo 64 era transition, Nintendo was much like Sony in their arrogance and hubris. I don't know why I never saw much tomato throwing back then (maybe because I didn't go to forums back then), but they made some pretty dumbass mistakes back then.

All interaction in Persona 3 is human. Demons just say some stuff when you fuse new ones into existence.

Finished Hotel Dusk. Awesome, awesome game. If only it were longer and the ending more satisfying. That doesn't stop it from being my favorite game on the DS though.

I didn't think that the game even got all that exciting until the last chapter. The ending bits were what I liked the best. To each his own I suppose.

The thing about games/novels like Hotel Dusk, the buildup is just as exciting, if not moreso, than the ending, because you're given all these small clues and subtle hints to piece together the entire story and you're sitting there wondering how it all fits together. Eventually you start making guesses and have hunches about how the story will go and you keep playing/reading to see if the story does play out like you thought, or if it goes another way entirely. It gets my juices flowing.

And you win irony of the year, for being the only one bitching and moaning, and turning around accusing other people of it.

Quote from: "Lard"
Go play the original game.

You lack reading comprehension, don't you?

Quote from: "Lard"
Look again.

Actually, maybe you should actually read the posts instead of making one line replies that just show what a dumbshit you are.

Quote from: "Lard"
So make a NEW game.

So you'll take a new shitty game over a good remake? Man, if there was any doubt you were a moron before, this completely lifts it.

Quote from: "Lard"
No, it isn't. If they're going to redo the puzzles and the graphics, make a new fucking game and put a new fucking title on it. Remaking games is a cash grab and exploitative.

So instead of having a series title on it, thereby having more people buy it for a new experience, you want companies to start new original properties with them and take unnecessary risks? You must not be well versed in business. Or, you know, life.

Quote from: "Lard"
That's your problem, why should the rest of us put up with a needless remake because you're intolerant of anything that doesn't have current gen graphics?

Because some of us actually like it and aren't people who go apeshit over the little things like game titles. Why should the rest of us put up with your constant crying?

Quote from: "Lard"
No, it couldn't. It's needless and exploitative.

Is "exploitative" the only word you know?

Quote from: "Lard"
My problem is that that trend of remakes (which is bad enough in the movie industry) is starting to seep into gaming - and it sucks ass.

Whine whine. Don't buy them, then. Don't subject the rest of us to your whining.

Quote from: "Lard"
Then why use the story as the basis? Why not just make a new Metroid game?

Why NOT use the story as the basis? Oh wait, I know what you're gonna say! It's "exploitative" isn't it? The companies are trying to trick us average joes out of our hard earned greenbacks by using similar stories! OH SHIT! CALL THE BBB!

Quote from: "Lard"
Nobody seems to like WA3 and opinion is mixed about WA4. Instead of remaking WA, maybe they should've concentrated on making a decent WA game, hmm?

Except... you know, WA3 was released before ACF was even announced.

Quote from: "Lard"
I would say that this is probably the only time that it's worth doing, though was Final Fantasy 3 really worth waitiing all this time for?

And what if some people think it was? Take your stereotypical non-conformist attitude and shove it up your ass. Nobody cares.

Quote from: "Lard"
At least you're reasonable on something. By the way Eusis, you're right. Beyond Good and Evil is overrated.

Get real.

Final Fantasy V:
"I'm an old man."
"I'm a princess."
"I'm a pirate."
"I'm gay."

Devil May Cry:
"I'm Dante."

I fail to see a resemblance.

I'd take ACF over 3 and 4 any day of the week, and I'd like a remake of 2. At least then I know it won't totally suck.
