bottom feeder tabloids
Speaking of that...

Yuri is zestfully clean.

Why not? Some people ask for $1000 chunks of highly pressurized carbon for no reason at all sometimes. ;P

small-minded is pretty much the summation of all of Microsoft's marketing strategies of late.

My favorite was the Bing street team that was all like "Hey! If you can differentiate Bing from Google (aka the search engine you see everyday most likely) we'll give you a free XBox and use you as a testimonial!"
I dunno about that, companies can get really small minded. Remember the PS4 "how to let your friends borrow your game" spot? It was hilarious, but still pretty small minded.

I found it hilariously cheesy and ridiculous.

Maybe, dunno how well it'll work as a marketing strategy for a game system though...
Well, they have some good ones too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CU9mZJ8vmdA

I'm hoping this is implemented into a system that will be used to police an infrastructure fraught with ridiculous douchebags with mouths that spew raw fecal matter whenever they are opened, but we'll see.

I do think it's a bit overboard for single player though...

So, here's how I see these people:

"What's with all these kids on XBL/PSN with their racial epithets and homophobic slurs, why won't Microsoft/Sony ban them for ruining our experience?"

8 years later:

"What is this NSA bullshit, if I want to call someone a faggot in-game that's my fucking business."

You're saying this as if it isn't already the case (to be fair, all fanbases have their extreme elements, even Persona as well as SMT on the whole, it is the nature of the beast).

Well, the MegaTen fanbase is not something I would call a mess yet. And using the Silent Hill fanbase as an example from my part is a bit extreme given how that deal went (mostly) to shit a long time ago for a lot of reasons.
You haven't seen some of the serious assholes in the MegaTen fandom yet then.

Yeah I finished the game with like 8000 rupees. Those items are actually really cheap.

To add a little more detail, the "hit box" for the ball is about the start of the edge of the dirt round for home plate up until the edge of the plate itself. As Ashton said, when you hit it within that window determines where it will go... earlier means more right, later means more left.

As for pulling down or pushing up on the joystick, pushing up will cause the ball to go low, pulling back will cause it to go high, but you'll only ever really need to pull down or push up about halfway or you'll end up overshooting or undershooting your shot.

When the crow appears, pull back just a little bit on the joystick and try to hit the ball halfway into it's hit box.

========

Also, as promised I am crying golden tears of joy! (The subtle additions to the death mountain theme are amazing!!)
Actually the analog doesn't affect how far you hit, you'll never over/undershoot. You can safely press the analog all the way down/up without worrying about missing. Never touch the analog when the bird comes though, because it's in the infield, not the outfield.

Well, I don't like it because it's awkward in English, but it IS a Japanese setting, so it's not like the context is incorrect.

Look. I don't want them to suck and I don't want them to fail.

I'd rather see them successful with a multitude of different titles like they used to do but I'm not going to cut them slack on things that people complain about when other companies like Activision or Ubisoft do it just because Persona games are trendy.

Maybe I'm blowing the Persona stuff out of proportion, but I don't think the region locking is. It was a *massive* dick move on their part. Maybe it was good for business, but it was a giant middle finger to fans.
I see your point. Regrettably, thanks to the modern development requirements and costs I honestly don't see that happening, at least not with console games. The PS2 generation was a golden era for Atlus that probably won't happen again, sad to say...

Hitting earlier makes the ball go right. Hitting later makes it go left. Holding down on the analog makes the ball go to the outfield. Holding it up makes it infield. You'll want to try getting the crow as much as possible; the ball tends to home in on the crow so long as it's in the 'area' (left/middle/right) your ball is in.

Well, I think an enhanced portable port with mostly negligible side stories released four years after the original is hardly comparable to having an enhanced edition less than a year after the original game on the exact same system. SMT4's microtransactions were, as stated before, nothing substantial at all; we got the whole game with SMT4, the DLC just made the game absurdly easy and were not necessary. Also, region locking P4A to prevent reverse importing was a good business move, though I understand why people are annoyed by it; blame the Japanese economy, I guess. I'll concede the Devil Survivor thing though.

I can see why you'd be annoyed, but some of these things you're talking about are being blown way out of proportion.

Don't worry, you are gonna be salty no matter what. Which is fine by me.

No, actually, I'm not. The idea that you shouldn't criticise any game companies and they always do everything right is silly.
To be fair, you're not so much criticizing as much as claiming the worst possible scenario imaginable. It's kind of like if I got a headache and went directly to "I have a brain tumor," instead of "I must've caught a head cold." You can see the difference, yes? :P

But honestly, I don't blame people for not really liking where PQ and P4D seem to be going, they just happen to be in genres I actually like (which, to be fair, is pretty much everything other than sports games and even then I play FIFA once in a while), so I'm not complaining too much.

That being said, I thought this image is apropos (I got it from someone who put it in response to me saying I'm modifying my Yu Narukami cosplay):
