1891  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / WoW paid character transfer to cost $25 a pop on: June 23, 2006, 02:53:31 PM
That's exactly what Blizzard (Not Vivendi) wants - they want to make sure that you know that your transfer has a possibility to change server dynamics and is an important in-game decision.

Vivendi just wants your cash.

Y'know, it'd be nice if EA bought SOE from Sony.

They'd probably fire everyone and put new people in. Some of their games could really use that.
They better not, since I would love more Field Commanders and Untold Legends games.

You could seriously just play Advance Wars and anything Snowblind makes and be playing the exact same games... they just feel so derivative.

Two.  LOOKING FOR GROUP CHANNEL IS NOW LINKED WORLDWIDE. Yes....that means that I AM CONSTANTLY hearing assholes in the Barrens screaming about how no one will join their Wailing Caverns group....WHILE I'M IN SHADOWFANG KEEP.

This wouldn't be such a problem if Blizzard actually, you know, policed their game, but I've already just about had to max out my ignore list from people spamming about stupid BS that has nothing to do with grouping.  I can see why Blizzard did this because there's no LFG tool in WoW (that works properly :p), but that doesn't mean they have to go do something so drastic.    Why can't they just copy/paste Call to Arms and just be done with it? :p

I checked out the scourge invasion and it was decent enough.  The only thing I don't like is it's a bit too much of a zergfest, at least on my server.   People everywhere, and it's ridiculously hard to tag anything.  I can only imagine that it must get really ugly on a PVP server. :P

Actually, it's quite a bit easier on a PvP server - when an attack starts, groups will form within the different factions to get rid of the other, and eventually one large group will try to take it out instead of having the shards of two or three working just against NPCs.

You don't farm the AD tabard - you farm the Scarlet Crusade tabard.  You just need 10 of the stones from the guys in invaded territories for the AD Tabard.

Afaik, Tales of Phantasia is a Port from the Playstation Version. But the Main Story will be fully voiced.

So, I have an honest question for you - is there a reason you're putting emphasis on half of the words in your posts?  I don't see a point of using italics to the point where it no longer means anything.

MC finally started dropping rogue loot.

NS Bracers/Leggings/Headpiece last night.

I didn't get the headpiece, but did get the other two.

Took my first run into MC tonight.  Full run, every single boss down.

Total Loot: 0.

One piece of rogue loot dropped (NS Pants).  Ghetto.

1905  The Rest / General Discussions / In-game advertising. on: June 09, 2006, 06:55:46 PM
Here's my take on it: Blatant advertising like what we see in Swat 4 and Fight Night Round 3 are stupid.  I can't stand that sort of thing.

However, if I were playing Burnout, and my car ran into a McDonald's truck and landed as a flaming wreck in the parking lot of a Best Buy, I would be perfectly fine with that, as it adds an air of realism to the atmosphere of the game.

Perhaps because of where I live (Las Vegas), I've grown a bit immune to advertising, as it's even more prevalent here than anywhere else I've ever been, but that sort of advertising would actually be cool.

By no means do I want to be playing Dreamfall, however, and run into a Burger King and order a hamburger - it doesn't make sense in either of the game's scenarios.
