There's no plot to the games. They're straight up online squad shooters. They're related in that they're all the same developer and have the same base engine.

I never thought I'd say this. I logged on the Matrix Online for the first time today to check out the revamped combat.
The Matrix Online is fun.

Ran the new Scholomance. The amount of mobs is the same, but they're quite a bit weaker. We did the entire instance in about 2 hours with no priest and no warrior. 2 Rogues, 1 mage, 1 druid, 1 paladin. We wiped twice, and never on any of the big fights. Quite a bit of fun.
The sets of five are now rarer, but considerably better. There's no more static skin of shadow for the Lady Barov, but we had three drop on our run.

UMD sucks. Yes. Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon was great when I got the DVD for 11 bucks. Seeing it available for 35 dollars in UMD format makes me want to vomit in disgust. That's a huge markup, even for canadian dollars. We have CTHD for $15 at my work on UMD. -John

What matters is not a plot twist, but rather how a plot twist is told.
You could have the ultimate plot twist but if it gets executed badly, it'll still suck. Come ON Ashton, just come out and say it. Baten Kaitos. -John

Hi.
This probably isn't the best way to introduce myself, and I'm almost sure I'm going to step on a few people's toes. I'm sorry about that, but I have something I want to get off my chest. Absolutely not. This is far better than any 'ZOMG I AM NEW' thread I've seen. Thank you for posting in an intelligent manner - it will certainly get you more respect around here than anything else. -John

The stuff in the multiplayer mode really just spawns too damn fast. The levels are really small, too. Those two things combined makes it really easy to just stand around and camp.

I picked up "Thank You For Smoking" by Christopher Buckley. I really wanted to see the movie after I saw the trailer, but it's not showing in Vegas (just NY and Hollywood, so far). I saw that it was "Based on the Best-Selling Novel", so I went and snagged the novel today. So far it's good. Interesting style on it, but it's based on the PR industry, which is really cool.

I was honestly surprised at how well Oblivion ran on medium setups at 1024x. We've got it running on a 3.4GHz P4 laptop with 1gb of RAM and a 128mb Radeon 9700. It runs fine. It runs better on our X700, of course, but I was surprised that it was smooth on that laptop.

So today I went to pick up my check and said to myself, "Okay, I'm going to go get my check, cash it, pick up Metroid, and then head to the bookstore and get 'Thank You For Smoking'."
Yeah, that didn't work out. Got my check. $50 more than I expected, so I say I'll get one more game. Went to EB. Got Metroid. Preordered Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy. Went to Fry's. Got Jump Superstars (J-DS). Got Initial D Street Stage (J-PSP). Stupid fucking Fry's carrying stupid imports. Went to book store, got "Thank You For Smoking". At least that part went to plan.
