I've been taking things kind of slow because I've been leveling other characters. I'm on the 5th floor right now. That's the floor Fenrir is on, right?
I plan on kicking his ass tonight, and moving onto the second stratum.
I'm not sure how big the dungeon is. I'd rather be surprised. But from what I've been reading, a normal play through should last 50+ hours.

Completed games of 2007 for me:
Yo-Jin-Bo, Hotel Dusk, Piece of Wonder, Memories Off: Complete (which includes Memories Off: Pure), Memories Off 2nd, Suigetsu Mayoi Gokoro... I think that's it.
None were RPGs, though Piece of Wonder was an SRPG/love adventure hybrid. How was Hotel Dusk? I want to play it, but not for $35.

Are you really leveling up more characters than you can fit in your party? Sheesh. I'm having a hell of a time keeping the characters I'm using up to snuff. Yeah. That way I can switch characters out for different situations and have them be on a decent level. I suppose that's one way to look at it. Personally, I get lots of pleasure out of having a highly specialized and difficult to use party that can be super powerful or totally awful depending on the situation. Different play styles I guess. With the amount of people you can have in your guild, and the many different party combinations. There's no reason not to try out different parties as you go along.

All video games are pointless. They only thing they're good for is to amuse or entertain. They don't advance society, they don't make us more intelligent or teach useful skills Actually, fighting games will teach you better hand/eye coordination and better reflexes. But, yeah, videogames are just for our entertainment. There's nothing wrong with that.

I think I'm done with Final Fantasy III. I mean, I didn't beat it or anything, but when the final boss is able to do four attacks in a row, and kill you almost instantaniously after completing a rather grueling two hour, save-less grindfest through the final dungeon, I lose interest. I can handle hard bosses, but don't make me waste two hours of my life before allowing me the displeasure of getting my ass handed to me and expect me to do it all over again.
Ridiculous. Wow. That's terrible. There's not one save point before the final boss? Can't you quick save?

Maybe this will get Square's attention for them to think, "Hey, all the Mana games we've been releasing suck. Maybe we should go back to the original formula. One that actually works."

So, what parties are you guys using?
I started out with a team of: Landsnecht,Protector, AlchemistX2 and a Medic. This got me by the first floor very easily, and most of the second.
Then I switched out the two Achemists for two Survivalists so I could make some cash at the Item Points on the first floor.
I plan on leveling up my Dark Hunter and Troubador next.

Good, it'll help liven things up around here.
Seriously, just saying 'This is pretty totally awesome. ^^;;;;;;;;;' all the time is boring. Though, I do like to hear reasons, but I know Ash's and John kinda just explained his. Plus what about those who're on the fence but haven't looked at/don't care for reviews and would rather hear what people they know say? I certainly don't want to hear only the positive and get misguided and pick up something I'd actually hate. I mean, I didn't say everyone that posts in here should praise the game. I just thought coming in here and saying "This game fucking sucks worse than Izuna" was a pretty pointless comment. He could atleast expand on why he felt that way.

You know, it's fine if you don't like the game. But why waste space in here saying it? It's already been known that this type of game only appeals to a small fan base. Because it's a discussion thread genius, not a "fellate the gods who blessed us with this magnificent product" thread. That means positive and negative. Oh, in that case, I'm going to go in every game thread of games I don't like and say "HEY EVERYONE I THINK THIS GAME FUCKING SUCKS. I FEEL LIKE YOU ALL SHOULD KNOW THAT!"

My copy of Etrian came in the mail today. I'm pumped! I'm not going to play it right away. I still need to finish Digital Devil Saga 2. I don't want to start a new game and forget about DDS. I've done this one too many times.
I was thinking. For you guys that really are enjoying the game, you should shoot Atlus an email telling them that you like it. If a lot of positive response is seen towards the game, that might make them think about making another RPG like this.

I'm waiting on my copy. I ordered online.
I don't except very many reviews to be outstanding. This isn't an RPG for the mainstream, afterall.
