Final Fantasy Tactics.

No way. You have to make that game difficult for yourself by limiting the type of characters and equipment you use. Some battles are certaintly difficult, but that's only if you weren't prepared going through the game the first time.

Tactics Ogre is difficult. FFT is a cake walk compared to TO.

Ok, so you used FAQs/advice from other people. Congratulations. You must be an amazing gamer.

If you're playing it how you should, you're going to get ambushed by certain points in the game.

Don't make assumptions. Even without FAQs, the game still isn't very hard. I think one of the worse situations you could get stuck in is in a random battle with all Chocobos.

Play the game how I should? Are you telling me there's only one way I should be playing the game?

I never said the game was never difficult. Playing through the first time, yes, the game will be a little challenging.

I had to start the game over the first time I played because I saved between the battles at Riovanes castle. My Ramza wasn't prepared for this battle and there was no way I was getting through it. I made a mistake. I didn't make this mistake when I made a second play through with more knowledge.

Maybe Persona 4?

This game looks AMAZING. I need it. I don't want it in arcades. Arcades are dead. Give it to me at home.

Not in Japan they aren't. Arcades are alive and kickin' over there.
1460  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Etrian Odyssey II: Heroes of Lagaard announced for the US on: March 29, 2008, 01:26:10 PM
Yes! I'm pumped for this. I loved Etrian Odyssey. And more of it in the future sounds good to me.
1461  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 4 info! on: March 18, 2008, 01:00:07 PM
This just might end up being one of my favorite games ever. I love the murder/mystery theme.

Atlus USA must be localizing this. What with them localizing FES, they must realize the demand for Persona here.

Man! Been playing Persona 3. On the second section of Tartarus now. 25th  floor and up. I beat the Guardian boss there and move on, but I've died two times so far in random encounters. This time against those steel giants that have real strong physical attacks. They got lucky with TWO critical strikes using Sonic Punch. Really brings down my morale for a few hours before I want to play again. Especially when I got a lot of leveling up done with my personas, and obtaining new ones as well.

I think I share with Losfer when I say, HOLY FUCKING SHIT INDEED!! This threw me completely off guard. Crazy.

Here's another screen shot.

There shouldn't be any point in playing through the original Persona 3 right now, correct? I've only logged in 17 hours. Should I just wait for FES and start over?

Don't complain, the expansion pack by itsself would cost $30. So they are giving the revised orignial for free.

Oh, I wasn't complaining. I was just wondering if they were going to have the expansion without P3 in it. I guess I'll just start the game over again when FES comes out. I wasn't that far in it and I haven't played in months.
1466  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 3 on: February 27, 2008, 10:46:44 AM
Does FES come with the original Persona 3 no matter what? Can't I just buy FES for like, $20 and not get another copy of P3?

Faith No More - Everything's Ruined.

Also, I have to say that this song probably has THE best video EVER.

Love that song, and album. I didn't know it had a video.

My name's Shane. I'm 22 years old.  I joined this site 2 days before my birthday in '06. I don't play RPGs or games as much as I used to. I'm mostly into 2D fighters now. I have casual get togethers with some friends around town, and sometimes people that are out of town. Ocassionally I attend tournies to see how far I can make it, and to meet new people. And it's just fun to travel. I'm a mellow person, quiet, kind, shy, but I usually don't have a problem striking up a conversation with a stranger.

I like to read. I've been reading Neil Gaiman's American Gods. So far it's capitivating. It's the only book in a long time that's been able to hold my attention. I love cats. I have one. His name is Rosco. I'll post pictures at the end of this post. I feel connected to animals and nature so, I love to be outside. I want to travel to many parts of the globe whenever I can get the chance. I play the bass guitar, and I'm really into music. I listen to all kinds. I'm very open to music. I can appreciate most of it.

I'm not in college yet, but I plan to start going soon. The reason I never attended was because I could never decide what I would study, and I still don't really know. My interests vary often. One day I'll be really interested in physics and astronomy, the next I'm leaning towards biology and things of that nature. And sometimes psychology as well.

Well, that's some stuff about me. When I'm home by myself, you can usually find me practicing a fighting game, reading a book, or trying to play an RPG that I'll never get around to finishing until years from now.

Oh yeah. It might help if I posted the pictures I said I was going to.

I still have a copy from when it was first released. Sadly, I don't own the box or instructions anymore. Not that I'd sell it anyways. There's something better about actually playing it on my SNES.

I'm assuming this is the next Tales of game, because it looks like Fujishima designed those characters. I'm hoping this is a PS3 title since the Wii is getting ToS2, and I doubt the 360'll get it.

EDIT: According to: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?p=6066732, Tales of Vesperia isn't the only one Namco announced/trademarked, as they also trademarked Tales of Valoria and Tales of Strife.

I'm not the only one that thinks there's way too many Tales games coming out lately, right? Right?!
