I bought Pokemon Diamond when it came out. I haven't played a pokemon game since Blue.
I played Animal Crossing DS for a while, but I cheated by getting free money from people using the wi fi. So, I got bored and felt like there was no point to playing anymore. I did like the game a lot though. I've wanted to buy it again, but I keep talking myself out of it.

To be fair, the idea I think is that if it was released together, it'd be 60 or even 70 dollars. That, of course, would result in bitching anyway from some. That isn't even that much money for a package deal. Just trade in some games towards it that you don't play anymore.

FES is actually a storyline set after the Persona 3 main game where you play as one of the supporting characters. It's much harder and has more story for people who can't get enough of P3. This is why I think they should localize FES for us. The hard mode is a big thing for me. I love playing games on hard, that offer it. And the extra story is supposed to have the "true" ending to P3. I think that's pretty important, if you ask me.

I'm getting this too, but I may wait a little while before buying it. Not sure. Definitely buying it online at best buy or something. I'd rather pay shipping charges than go into the store and buy it.
I'll probably get diamond. We should post some friend codes when we get it. Ashamed of liking pokemon? I don't see what the big deal is. It's just a videogame.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / suikoden V does it get better?
|

I'm perplexed by the great reviews of Suikoden V in the fan community. The game is average at best, and fails in so many ways. Gameplay is made for 5 year olds, load times are the slowest I've ever seen, and the story is so slow it makes Xenosaga 1 seem fast paced.
I think people were just so happy to have a new suikoden game that didn't suck they couldn't help but touch themselves. I thought IV was the only one that sucked? I played one, two and three and they were all good. Skipped four and five because I lost interest. But five generated decent reviews.

If you haven't, try playing Magna Carta will make you appreciate Suikoden V.
Seriously. I bought Magna Carta, played it for 15 minutes, shut it off and traded it back in. What the hell happened? Everytime I see the game in the store I see the box art and think "Maybe I should give the game another chance." Then I stop myself. I heard the story is good, but battles seem so complicated and slow.

I've got tickets to two Tool shows here in Florida, Orlando and Tampa. Set for the end of May, sure to be awesome. I'll probably try to get some tickets for NIN if they end up touring again this year. Tool live is an amazing experience. I've seen them 4 times now. And one of those times they played Third Eye. It was like Aenima years all over again, especially the way Maynard was painted up and moving around. He had this constellation pattern all over his body and was up front and moving around a lot. I'm going to be seeing Dir En Grey two times in June. I just got into this band and I like them a lot. Live show should be awesome.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Why not: all time favourite RPG

Legend of Legaia. Don't ask why. I just like it. I liked it when I was like, 13. I never did beat it. I couldn't tolerate the high encounter rate, the long battles and the ridiculously slow world map walking speed. I did love the music and the way the battle system was, though.

Media / Single-Player RPGs / Final Fantasy 3 has all the charm that so many RPGs miss

the problem with rpg's being challanging is that because most rpg's are turn based a challange usually equates to enemies being cheap. like in one of the lunar games didnt ghaleon steal all your characters mp? or was that zophar? thats why i think action rpg's are better if you want to challange the player since you are less likely to feel out of control and can use skill instead of stats to overcome obstacles In DDS, I've always felt like I was relying more on strategy than stats. Of course, the stats are important because you need to get stronger, but I didn't think they were as important as coming up with a good strat to win. The upcoming DS RPG, Etrian Odyssey, is another turn based RPG that will seem to focus more on strategy as well.
