How long does it typically take before a game gets an official soundtrack release?

Obviously they gained a lot of money for this project by people who, more or less, just wanted to "support the game". There are few people who throw down a substantial amount to get the extras, but the majority of people are likely throwing between $10-$30 just to see a game they want released.

"The game departs from traditional RPG conventions through its use of RTS elements, yielding a combat system that is fast-paced and dynamic"

So it's an action RPG.

Why the fuck can't someone just do an old fashioned turn based RPG for once?

Bravely Default, SMT IV, Trails in the Sky, Etrian Odyssey, bunch of Indie RPPGs probably. Not sure what you're looking for exactly, but all these are turn-based and old fashioned as far as combat goes.

I'd be careful about the whole "dream team" claims.  Sands of Destruction, anyone?

I wouldn't really call this a dream team, but it's certainly a lot of respected people from different niches in the industry.

Yeah,I had a friend that was super excited about this game. Then he found out it was an RTS and he "immediately lost all interest". I thought it was a little hasty of him to write off the entire game when he was excited about it. He should at least wait and play it before he passes judgement.

It's just fans being fans. Getting information and breaking it down obsessively is what they do.

Yeah, I understand. I'm a huge Guilty Gear fan. I've been playing since XX, but I never saw the draw of gathering info from these loketests so early. It's not like I could test anything myself. At most, it's just interesting to see some news moves and characters, but they want the nitty gritty details. Frame data and what not. It's too early for info like that.

I didn't say you're not excited. I said I don't understand why anyone wouldn't be. That's expecting everyone to be. o_O

You said "anyone from this forum", so that means anyone here doesn't it?
68  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Project Phoenix (another Kickstarter!) on: August 12, 2013, 09:21:41 PM
Ok... I haven't been hyped and supar excited about a game release since the first Fable concepts, but this is hype that I will buy. When I was watching the 'trailer' before they even started speaking I was pretty thrilled $20 to back and get a copy of the game? I'm in. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

I don't understand anyone from this forum not being excited about this. with Wasteland 2 being funded to over 3 million (including Paypal) I'd be surprised if this didn't break a million. Every paragraph is unadulterated RPG fan boner material.

Who said we weren't excited? I'm definitely excited. I love everything I've seen and heard about this game so far and I hope it does well. I'm thinking of backing $50 to get the soundtrack and art book. The 3 songs at the bottom of the kickstarter and fantastic, too.

Maybe a lot of people aren't checking out this thread because it's titled "another kickstarter". Sounds a little negative.

Yeah, there's no question they'll hit the $100k mark.  I do still wonder why they set the goal so low...they must have additional funding of some sort and this is just supplemental.  But there are some interesting-sounding stretch goals.  I think the real question is how many of those they can reach...

They say at the bottom of the Kickstarter that all of the funding from this Kickstarter will go towards designing 3D models.

It looks like this game is getting backed already. Incredible! They're already at $90K

I'm excited about this game. I think it's going to be great.

@Yggdrasil Yoko Enoki is a famous, award-winning Fantasy novel writer in Japan. The kickstarter says she's written over 80 Fantasy novels.

Wow. Apparently they can't reveal the art supervisor until the release of the game. Credited for a very famous anime that everyone knows.

It looks amazing, though I think it's funny how the people on Dustloop are begging for character specific info for a game they're not going to be playing for a long time. It's like, what's the point? A lot of it will likely change anyway.
73  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Earthbound now out on Wii U VC (seriously) on: August 08, 2013, 11:29:50 PM
Earthbound was never about gameplay, but more about it's quirky nature and excellent translation. If you personally don't find it charming, then I wouldn't keep playing it, but that's what the draw is for most people.
74  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Zelda LttP 2 for 3DS on: August 07, 2013, 01:02:35 PM
Welp, so much for being a direct sequel. They're changing the character designs and everything.

That...was sarcasm right?

I prefer all the bottom designs best. Not sure why, but I like Link better when he's smaller.

I'm about 22 hours into the game now and just like Devil Survivor, it seems like the Zan series of skills have proved to be invaluable to me. A huge majority of enemies are weak to this skill.
