Rule #2=same as rule 1, but in bigger font and more profanity.

I should have known better, but I was young and naive...

I know FF13 is an easy target, but I'm feeling lazy tonight.  Fuck that game and fuck any Japanophile that garnered any sliver of enjoyment out of that shit.

I'll stay quite...

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

I don't know why I have to say this, but I've been tricked by it. It looked so good, but... It's the worst action RPG I've ever played.

This game is coming out tomorrow. I have high hopes for it. Of course, a friend of mine is making me borrow Chrono Trigger DS that same day. I'm not sure how much time travel my frail body can handle.
1384  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: What are you playing now? on: February 17, 2011, 09:36:42 PM
I'm currently playing:

Penny Arcade Adventues On the Rainslick Precipe of Darkness Part Two - I just finished my first visit to Anne-Claire's room.
Mass Effect - I just landed on Virmire.
Kingdom Hearts 2 - I just landed on Agrabah for the first time.
Dragon Quest IX - I'm about to fight Sahastra... Lanara... The witch terrorizing the plains.
Final Fantasy VI - I just entered South Figaro for the first time.
Tactics Ogre: Knights of the Lodis - I just completed the second battle.

Eternal Sonata happens to be a good one. It's only co-op in battles, but if you have two other people for you, this mash-up between a turn-based battle system, action battle system, real-time strategy battle system, and turn-based strategy battle system, can actually be tons of fun to play, just prepare for more than one shouting match to erupt at least once every other battle.

For the record, Xenoblade isn't part of the Xeno series really, at best it's as related as most numbered FFs are to one another. It was just renamed from Monado to that in honor of Monolith's prior major RPG series. The most you can hope for is that some of the same themes and stylistic choices are reused.

That's the thing: I know nothing of the Xeno(series). I'm really not hoping for anything...

I REALLY hope The Last Story comes to America. I've been wanting this game for weeks and weeks unlike any other RPG in recent memory. I really don't know much about Xenoblade, let alone the Xeno(series), so I'm unsure if I really care about it getting released.

I've been really excited by this game. It has staff from some of my favorite games, a unique combination of themes from Tactics Ogre and Chrono Trigger, and it gives me a lot of free choice, even if it is a JRPG. This is what really excites me: its steps towards the blending of the WRPG and JRPG genres (even if it isn't really intentional in any way, shape, or form).

I think that Persona 3DS, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked, and the currently unnamed other Shin Megami Tensei title will be promising games, but Paper Mario 3D and Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance look like they'll be a lot of fun too. On a different note: Phoenix Wright vs. Professor Layton and Cave Story 3D look very good too. I honestly can't wait to get the 3DS.
