I'm hoping they'll go the same way as the other Wii re-releases (Mario/Kirby), with a nice packaging, artbook and soundtrack! ^^

After my Hyrule Historia Collector's being cancelled, recently my Figma Link Figure was also cancelled (apparently Diamond couldn't get it at all)... as well as my The Art of Portal 2 pre-order. Gee, it's not my month! With the recent Virtue's Last Reward Amazon pre-order fiasco, I'm starting to think pre-order can't even guarantee you'll get an item anymore :(

What the fuck seriously?
Oh whoops, LE. Still, that sucks. Didn't it only go up like three days ago?
Yeah it was really not long ago. I leterally pre-ordered the minute I read about it. I searched on Google and apparently it's limited to 4000. It feels like the Virtue's Last Reward pre-order nightmare all over again :( Edit: I pre-ordered it from the Book Depository... Don't know much about this site, hope they are trustworthy, especially since they charge right away for pre-orders...

Just received this from amazon :(
" Hello from Amazon.ca.
We're sorry to report the release of the following item has been cancelled:
Shigeru Miyamoto, et al "The Legend of Zelda: Hyrule Historia Limited Collector's Edition"
Although we'd expected to be able to send this item to you, we've since found it won't be released after all. Please accept our sincerest apologies for any inconvenience we've caused you.
We've cancelled this item from your order. "
It was removed from amazon.com too, so I guess it really was cancelled...

Media / The Soundroom / Angèle Dubeau et la Pietà - Game music
|

So, Angèle Dubeau, which is one of the greatest violonists in Quebec, just released a disc on which she plays music from various video games. Of specific interest here would be the Final Fantasy, Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger/Cross medleys. The disc is really great, so I wanted to share it with you guys! :) The Chrono medley is available on Youtube (by the disc publisher, so this is legit): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IcJj19YIgY0And well, if you enjoy it, go ahead and buy the disc, it's not very expensive anyway (around 15$) :)

Actually, you can't play the games on the disc itself, the disc only contains the "installs" so that you can install it on the PS3 and then play, as regular PSN titles. The only restriction is that the disc must be in the PS3 for them to work... So it's basically the same, as you install the three games separately and you have three different sets of trophies, so you're probably better off keeping the PSN version since you won't need the disc to play them. (It was a big let down honestly, I waited for this release to be able to play those games on disc since my HDD's full and I didn't want to buy them on the PSN so I wouldn't need as much space to install them... oh well, at least I enjoyed the games)

Well, thanks for the info! I guess I'll stay away from those then. I'm more of a "short but intense" than "long but generic" kind of person, so I don't think I'll enjoy those then.

I do have a couple artbooks and soundtracks, but only of games I care about, so I wouldn't call it a collection...
For me a "real" collection is when you start buying stuff you don't really care about just to complete it: I do have a couple of shitty RPGs for the DS since my goal is to get every one published on the system, so that's pretty much the only thing I would actually call a collection.
Of course nowadays you get a little something for every pre-orders so I do have a box full of various pre-order junk: stickers, cards, pens and stuff...

So, my friend just game me a bunch of mangas, just like that. So now I have 21 Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, 11 Death Note, 6 Brave Story, 3 NORA and the first Tales of Symphonia. So, since I don't know anything about those, I really don't know where to start! If anyone has suggestions, please let me know!

As for Nintendo's new console - never alone? Always online? Intrusive texts from people popping on screen *as* you're playing the game?
Burn that shit with fire.
That really depends on two things: is online outright necessary, and can I disable or filter that stuff? I'm actually excited about the idea of having ONLY friend comments there, but if I can't filter it to that or disable entirely I'll be pissed. That was the problem with the Wii IMO... Motion controls are fun, for a while. The problem was that you couldnt desable them/use an alternate control scheme. I didn't finish any of the two Zeldas because I got sick of the controls, but it wouldn't have been a problem if I could have played them with the classic pro controller, for instance... So I entirely agree with you: if it's optional, it's awesome, and I'll probably use it sometimes. If it isn't, well... I'll really hesitate about buying one. My other wish is that your purchases will actually be link to an actual account, not a console... They talked about Nintendo Network but didn't get into the details yet... Honestly I'm interested by the downloadable classics on the Wii store, but I really don't like the idea of potentially losing my games if something happens to my console or something... I also hope they'll do a bit like they did with the 3DS, where you could transfer your DSi games to it, and you'll be able to transfer games from Wii to WiiU...

I was browsing on Amazon when I saw that pre-orders were open for both 3DS and PSP! Apparently the title "Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward" seems official and the announced realease date is October 23th!

I love pokemon games, but this game just doesn't look appealing to me at all.
Contrary here! :P I'm a fan of Koei's games, but I'm really not sure about this one :P I mean, I like those games for their epic feel: great battles, historical settings, awesome character design (most of the time anyway)... But with Pokemon in it? For me it's a contradiction :P Anyway, I might be taking it just for the sake of having a new DS game, while I wait for Kingdom Hearts/Paper Mario to come out on the 3DS... As far as I know there hasn't been anything interesting since Devil Survivor 2...
