Yeah you could be grinding mobs pointless like a schmuck with that "Free" pack, not experiencing any worthwhile or fun content.

If lvling is all you care about, yes. But some of us enjoy the fun unique quests and features the game offers rather than worrying about a number. The level I am is the least of my concerns in lotro.

The same size as one of the aftershocks from the first quake! o.o

At least it wasn't as disastrous as the first one, too.

When you get to level 20, you must pay for content other than simple grinding. That's all there is to it. Free To Play is just an extended preview.

When you guys say more content, if you're referring to more quest packs and locations around Middle Earth to actually do stuff, then that's not when you hit lvl 20. It could happen when you're lvl 1, it just happens when you get outside your quest pack location. I could be level 65 within the three quest packs available to free players and still be able to do anything a free player can do. Your character level doesn't have anything to do with it, so you know.

That our internet is fragile? That's Egypt, not America, where we have more than one point for the entire country...
5  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: RPG's you'd like to see re-released on: April 03, 2011, 03:05:56 PM
lol, as you can guess, Legend of Legaia. Or at least a REAL sequel to it would be nice...

And when was that? Because as far as I've been throughout the game (level 14-15 atm), there have been tons of quests and dungeons available to me. The locations I know are inaccessible are Moria and the other expansions...But that's because they're expansion packs. Perhaps you ran into those locations at level 20 (which is quite the distance). Ever think that maybe you were too far in the game at level 20 and perhaps quests were inaccessible to you because of your low number? Not that I'm saying it's why, but just a thought.

It's funny to note that this article has made my girlfriend want to buy the game now. She didn't want to before because of Duke's voice (she said it's extremely annoying and cliche), but because this article is saying that the game isn't for girl gamers...She said she wants to buy it to piss the people off. I told her no one would really know she went and bought it unless she went and put up a blog on it to which got popular to the whole world - but she said she still wants it.

Funny news article. She even laughed at this paragraph:

Quote
All of which makes it all the more mind-boggling that the company's forthcoming Duke Nukem Forever title is set to feature a multiplayer mode called "Capture the Babe", a variant on Capture the Flag in which you'll carry off a squirming young woman who, occasionally on your point-scoring trip back to base, will "freak out", requiring the administration of a slap on the buttocks to calm her down.

edit: Also want to mention that the games that I sell on the Xbox 360 Indie Games market...I try to make strategic and serious games. My girlfriend wants to design games that will get more of an audience....Which she has mentioned a few that would make this article all the worse. For example, she wants to design a game called, "Panty Raid." Not going to type the concept here, but you get the idea.

If you look at the top sellers for Indie Games marketplace, it's MOSTLY games with Zombies, 3D graphics, or chicks body parts on the front cover. For example, "Can you handle 2 of us?" Probably the worse indie game I've played, yet still has a HUGE sale base. Why? Cause there's two ugly chicks on the front cover with DD knockers.

What's not free about it? I haven't found a situation at all to where I had to pay for anything yet, and I've got about 48 hours of gameplay so far...I don't get much time to play, but yeah I haven't found myself paying anything.

They do have an in-game store to where you can buy additional features with their own currency, but the thing is that you get that currency by finishing quests in the game...So you really don't have to pay anything at all in real life if you don't want to.

Of course it has some quests that are typical for MMO's, but a lot of them are indeed unique. I'm used to MMO's where it's only quests like "send this over there" and "kill x amount of these guys and you win." LOTRO has these, yes, but it also has quests that you wouldn't normally do in other MMO's (seriously, carrying a bucket of water to purify a well in a town? Where have you seen that done?). Plus they keep up to date with updates often...Almost always something new to do.

lol this has turned from a "Worst RPGS thread about various games" to a thread about "Worst RPG being FF."

You also counted the extra days on the leap years, right? :)
14  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Homefront on: March 30, 2011, 06:53:24 PM
The story is interesting for as far as I got into the game. The sound is what drove me away...I couldn't stand the horrible static and over the top "BROOOM" sounds from the helicopters. I'd like it to sound realistic, not as if my speakers are going to blow from the reverb...
15  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Worst RPGS on: March 30, 2011, 06:50:50 PM
So I would assume you dislike the Metal Gear Solid series then?

I played a bit of the first one, but yeah never got much into it either :p
