Trained a new girl today, I give her two weeks, actually hope I'm wrong though.

OK...the platforming aspect of Oath in Felghana is getting a tad old. Ar Tonelico just gets funnier and better all the time and I picked Pangya back up, kinda forgot how much fun that game is.

Zirduros, The Clockwork Cannon in Oath in Felghana was no freaking joke!

After looking at the Witcher 2 screenshots... yeah, I don't like them much either. It's not that they're ugly, but to me it enters uncanny valley. I have the same problem with games such as Mass Effect. I can't play them without thinking that there is something not quite right with the people on the screen.

So yeah, I'd rather look at anime-style visuals or cutesy sprites.

Actually I kinda know what you mean. While the more "realistic" looking games are leaps and bounds beyond what older games looked like, even Uncharted, for instance, still isn't totally representative in movements, both facial and otherwise, to real life. And to a certain extent it's almost like looking at chimps, yeah, they look and act like us but there's still that noticeable difference (a somewhat stretch yes, but still I hope you get my point). While the games which are more anime style the portrayal is less an attempt to look realistic and thus to a certain extent maybe even more "believable" as you focus less on the physical nuances, or lack thereof, and more on the personality and voice. Having said that, while typing this I did wonder if I'd feel the same if Drake looked more like Jaster....now I've confused myself.

Well...that's if she even wants a Limited Edition. I decided to sell my PS2 and games. I'm thinking about doing the same with my PSX games, but I don't know how to get rid of them and make a decent amount of money off of them since most are on PSN or ported to PSP I think. May try to sell them here for a couple bucks but I suspect most people that would want them here already have them (PSX Squaresoft RPGs mostly). Wanted a new game to fill the gap from GTAIV since all my other games are RPGs. Thought about gteting Assassins Creed but ultimately decided on LA Noire. Hopefully it is worthwhile. Used the rest of the money toward Catherine. Don't want to spend $60 on the game and I'm hoping a few trade ins will diminish the cost a bit, but I guess we'll see next week. Really I probably wouldn't even touch the game for some time anyway.

As Yoda said likewise, anything you want to sell he doesn't want first let me know. I'm always looking for PS2 games my son doesn't have and PSX neither of us has. And I'd rather buy from someone here than an EBAY'er whom I have no idea where or how they got/treated the game.

SOB! For three days I have wandered around in the Elderm Mountains (Ys: Oath in Felghana) trying to figure out why I couldn't trigger the boss battle against Ligaty, The Three Flying Succubi AKA the flying harpy sisters, finally went back to the village and spoke to EVERYONE, guess I missed the mayor the first time! ARRGGG!!! On the flip side, I beat the boss battle in less than 2 freaking minutes I'm so leveled up, lol. Now, on with the game, lol. And for the record, Ar Tonelico so far = awesome fun! And Saiyuki is more challenging than I thought it would be but I'm still having fun, just one mission at a time.

I consider myself somewhat of a "new kid" and I agree with what has been said so far. I thought I knew a decent amount about games until I came here and I seriously enjoy the various disagreements even on games I'm unfamiliar with, and then discussions I do want to join in I feel I can express my opinion without fear of being truly flamed, disagreed with perhaps but not disrespected.

Collecting in that game got seriously addictive, much more fun than one which to me was so repetitive. And I really cannot explain why, both were pretty similar in the style of the quests, but I guess the substance was different (slightly).

What about .hack series, although you're in a decidedly fantasy world you are playing a simulated MMO...or would that be a stretch?

Very few things can convince me to drop $60. I pretty much always give every game some time for the euphoria to wear off and more in-depth reviews/opinions to surface. Of course there have been some exceptions but not many.

What about the 'collector's" who want physical copies of things? Will digital distribution satisfy the need to have the copy in hand as it were. I mean I know that if there is no other option most would, I imagine, rather have a copy in whatever form than none at all, but I wonder if this facet of the gaming community will become a "force" or if most would capitulate rather easily when faced with the alternative.
