646  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dragon's Crown (Vanillaware RPG, now 2013 all regions) announced for PS3/Vita on: August 01, 2013, 02:29:02 PM
ok... there has been way too much going on here in this thread for me to backtrack, quote and properly reply. so I am gonna make this a general statement to all those who kindly assisted in clarifying "skyping" to me.

first I thank you.

secondly, no i truly did not know about skyping. furthermore, you would be astounded at how cleverly ignorant I have remained  to some major progressive staples of society, particularly in the avenue of media, social networks, eletronics and even gaming. As stated, Dragons Crown will be the first effort I have ever made to play online multi-player in any respect. I didn't even add friends to my game accounts until 2 months ago with my little animal planet effort (epic fail).

adapting to advancing tech for me is a necessary evil I begrudgingly accept. if I had things my way phones would still have chords on them... skyping just has not proved a necessary adaptation for me (yet).

is my stance ignorant? most certainly. logical? certainly not. Am i defending it? by no means. just being honest. thank you for entertaining my idiocy without laughing (too hard). LoL

so i met this girl. at first we were just good friends but then just by being her she started to effortlessly tear down every last emotional wall i had errected over the years until my love resistance was 0. now i have been afflicted with the strange status effect known as love. at first i was terrified and confused but she said she loves me too so im so happy i could cry. a few girls have professed to love me over the years but i couldnt love them back until those barriers came down.

perhaps this is the change i needed

You should come visit me and I can teach her to tattoo and she can tattoo her name on you. LoL

NOTE: Refer to my recent posts if you don't get it...

I'm contemplating a back tattoo, actually. I haven't pinned down a design yet and probably will leave it to ruminate for a year or two. Not to mention seeking out a top of the line artist and having money for it.

Doing solid black well is tricksier (yes I said TrIcKsY) than some care to recognize. Many (artists included) think even solid saturation in tattoos is easily, or at least safely, achieved. This is not the case unfortunately and I've seen many "good" artists incapable of doing and solid saturation of black that passes in my book. I don't know if I qualify as "top of the line" by your standards but I am confidant I can handle whatever it is you want if your ever in my area... you of course get the RPGFan discount... I've been dying to tattoo one of you folk for well over a year now!!

EDIT: Well, it appears I misread "back" as "black" so half of what I said is irrelevant and out of context... sorry. Refer to the title beneath my name if you don't get it. LoL

is it harder to tatoo darker skinned individuals?

Sometimes. Certain colors tend to work better and stay longer, brighter colors for instance. That's my understanding as an observant outsider with many acquaintances that do tattooing. How did I do, Klyde?

Oddly enough a lot of the brighter inks don't show up as well on darker toned individuals. Now when I say dark, I mean extreme african american dark. Otherwise skin tone, while an influential factor in choice of tonality, is not inhibiting in any sense.

On the tattoo note, while it is not a gaming or anime related piece I'm posting this any way because I had a grand ol' time getting to do it. Skin tear pieces are not uncommon... Skin tear pieces over this large of an area however are.

Thanks for the prompt responses! What is and how does this "skyping" work?
649  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Kickstart PS1 style RPG, takes place over 3 decades. on: July 31, 2013, 03:21:24 PM
The one PS1 style RPG on Kickstarter that I like is Soul Saga, but the big reason for that is that Aivi Tran's doing the music and I really like her stuff.

that looks freakin' awesome... i may be more excited to see this than most future prospects I am aware of ATM

So, as I have expressed in past posts, I've never EVER done online co-op/multiplayer before. i need some pointers here... do I or should i purchase any slick accessories (head set thingy, mic, keyboard???) that would enhance playing this specifically, with you fine folk?
651  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The favorite sidequests thread on: July 30, 2013, 03:39:00 PM
I really loved doing the cube puzzles in Wild Arms Alter Code F even though the prizes sucked for the most part (with the exception of a few.)

But my favorite sidequests are always those that yield playable characters as pays offs (yuffie and vincent/ff7 type stuff). Hence why the Suikoden franchise proved a wet dream for me.

So in the continued quest to recover all the games I traded in when I got rid of my XBox, I just picked up the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata today, and thanks to Dice's recent playthrough it's taking every ounce of willpower I have not to play through it again starting right now.

Dice is good for that! She has had the uncanny ability to instigate a few play-throughs for me personally... Not 100% certain (memory fails me) but I think around this time last year she got me on a Breath of Fire 3 kick...

It is a GLORIOUS weekend folks! The girl I posted about but a few short days ago...? I got her to tattoo ME last night (after a brief little crash course). I am officially twice as cool and 300% happier as a result.

I'm willing to change my vote to #2 if you use this version

AHHH! Annubis you totally just scored mondo points with me! I love what you did to improve the aesthetic of my face.

Sadly I already used the first and ran my little facebook contest before this post went up.

It astounds me how, when motivated, people can become pretty resourceful and hasty. The chick who wanted to win knew nothing of anime and figured out the answer to my little image riddle within minutes. Maybe I just suck at making contests... Maybe google just made my contest suck... I don't know which...

i will be adding all you fine folk who volunteered your names to my friends list in prep for D(C)-day. gee golly am I stoked.

658  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Earthbound now out on Wii U VC (seriously) on: July 26, 2013, 03:45:48 PM
I can't believe people are paying $10 for a romdump.

I can believe it. I pay ridiculous amounts of money to enjoy playing my games exactly how I want to play them knowing full well there are more cost effective ways to go about it. This is no different. Rewind a few years and the whole reason I got Wii in the first place was because Secret of Mana became available for download.

Some folk just are not comfortable, willing, or know how to go about playing via less "legitimate" methods. This makes me happy because in the end it helps deflate the price of original carts/discs/games for collectors (such as myself).

For the vast majority of consumers, a 10 dollar romdump being available for download right on their system is a godsend in contrast to the price tag of an original SNES cart if said consumer even has a working SNES (which they probably dont).

Now the price tags that are associated with certain titles, not available for DL on any network astounds me a bit.. yet I pay those prices begrudgingly as well. Reference: Suikoden 2 anyone?

We can't take our coinage with us and I can think of quite a few worse ways to blow 10 buck than on earthbound..... hell, I can walk down to convenient and blow 10 buck on a midnight snack that would yield nothing but a tummy ache. And while cheese flavored Puf n' Corn, a donut and chocolate milk may be tasty, it won't prove nearly as inspiring as a playthrough of one of the best RPG's to grace the 16 bit era.

But what really gets me is the amount I spent on Tales of Graces outfits. I bought em all. For those who don't know, it ran me more then the game itself.

If there's anything you should spend good money on is pillows. I just bought two expensive ones and tried them out in an inaugural nap...

http://youtu.be/EsUVREtQLBY

For realzies.  I used not to care until I found some $20 one at Sam's Club and gave it a whirl.  I doubt I could comfortably sleep on anything else now.  I think it's one of those tempurpedic ones or somthing.  It's firm, but has a nice give to it.  So amazing.

Pillows and bedding in general should never be skimped out on. Quality of sleep directly correlates with quality of life IMO...

1st: Poster photo bomb.

Thanks again for the advice on the pics! I was going with the 1st pic for here and facebook on account of your votes and the fact that the lower clarity of photo 2 bothers me... however I am now going to switch back to my photon ava on here because I  can't stand having to look at myself.
