So watched last week's episode of Agents of Shield yesterday (I'm a week behind because Hulu). I have really been enjoying this season of Agents of Shield. Although I have to admit that the "villians" for the season do have a point in that Shield does need some kind of oversight....although I think having five random agents be that oversight is kind of no better of a solution.

Anyways, been playing some more Radiant Historia recently. Made it up to Chapter 1 for both Histories now. Only a matter of time before I finish the game (or give up like the slacker that I am).
Do not give up on that game, it is amazing!

So I found out yesterday that in the alternate mission for chapter 6 you can just idle for 23 minutes and you still win (assuming you have avoid equipped). So yay, I got Blizzard BOM-II while eating dinner.

Which ones are the instructor uniforms? The gold trimmed ones?
Yup. They would probably be fine if it wasn't for the pattern on the cape. It just makes the outfits.....too noisy I guess? I ended up giving it to Cater, Seven, and Eight, but I may change them back before I'm done with the game.

Yay, I'm a double poster! I got the Instructor Uniforms yesterday before going to bed, and oh my god they are tacky. Also, the Code Crimsons for chapter 3-6 were considerably less interesting than the ones for Chapters 2 and 7. Kind of disappointing, especially since the one for Chapter 6 was one of the most boring things in the game (23 minutes of mostly just standing around and there is no way to speed it up).

Watched last week's episode of World Trigger over the weekend. I think they are actually getting good at adapting this material. There was a small added scene which was both hilarious and fitting with the characters (the second idiot trio) that it involved. And I think it did a surprising good job of showing terror on Chika's face at the end of the episode. It still has the awkward pauses every so often, but I can live with those.

Squeenix updated their teaser site: http://www.jp.square-enix.com/secret/?hc_location=ufi

It now says:

STAR

20150_1

They zoomed out on the picture and it now shows a blue planet. So, unless they're suddenly in charge of Lunar or are complete dicks, this may very well be a Star Ocean thingie.
I am shocked, shocked I say, at this development. Whoever could have predicted that this would be Star Ocean related? Why, whoever they are, they must be geniuses of the highest caliber! :p

Code:
Whee, on my fourth playthrough now! Gone through the game on the first three difficulties and now going through it on the last difficulty. Saved the Code Crimsons for my last playthrough (well except for the chapter 7 one because I believe I needed that one to trigger the ultimate weapon fights). Just did the chapter 2 Code Crimson last night.

It was interesting as apparently the reason that the security system was on at the base you assault in chapter 2 was because Class 0 broke in to recover confidential documents and activated the system so they could find the documents. I would not be surprised if the Code Crimson in chapter 4 reveals we actually did kill the Queen

Side note: Still hate chapter 8. Did it on max difficulty so I could unlock some stuff (l'cie mode and maybe the instructor uniforms) before completely finishing my fourth playthough, and I died so many times. Half of those deaths I don't even know what happened.

Code:
Did you accept becoming a l'cie or no? It changes the trials and cutscenes afterward. I declined. I guess the annoying part of the story for me is they use all these words from the FFXIII universe like Etro and l'cie without ever explaining them and it just compounds. Unlike Dragon Age, the extra lore stuff is required to completely understand what is happening. In Dragon Age they completely make sure you understand the story regardless if you want to make the extra effort. Reading the lore codexs and whatnot just enhances the story. Not so for this. I needed explanations. I didn't understand all these concepts when they were in FFXIII and I damn sure don't remember it now that it's been several years. That's the whole problem I have with the Fabula Nova Crystalis games. I doesn't help that you have to play through the game twice to get the full story... I am not doing that so I just read what happens on a second playthrough and it helped clarify some things, but still don't understand how any of the Etro stuff has to do with the civil war they were engaged in for 7 chapters. It felt like two different stories to me.

Code:
First playthrough? No. You lose if you choose to become l'cie. I was confused as you were talking about the Black Tortoise door as being purple and I had forgotten about the Gilgamesh fight because I was so overpowered for it on Cadet difficulty.

Anyways, I think they did a perfectly fine job explaining l'cie. I still have no idea of Etro, but it has only been mentioned once that I can recall. The connection between the war (which was not a "civil war") and chapter 8 is that the war triggered the end days. The prophecy of the end of times is brought up fairly frequently throughout the game, and having all 4 crystals controlled by a single nation triggered the end. Hell the first thing that Ace says in the trailer is a quote from the Nameless Tome about the end of all things.

Perfect example: The plot starts off taking place on an island in two different time periods: The present and 30 years later. 30 years later a character who was made an immortal by her immortal father in the first season is on the island, presumably investigating the aftermath of the plot in the present. She meets another resident of the island, and when she goes to explore a certain section of the island is warned not to. She goes anyway where she meets her immortal father who is, for some bizarre coincidence is living on the island. Except he's lost his mind and is living with the corpses of his wife and son and hallucinating that they're still alive. He tries to embalm her while alive, she escapes, they get into a sword fight, and she kills him and he gives her his katana with his dying breath. One episode later, about halfway through the season, this future arc is inconsequentially abandoned until the very last episode for a completely pointless plot twist.
You know that did not sound that bad (although very batshit insane) until you mentioned the future arc being completely abandoned.

Square Enix what are you teasing....

* posted excitable gif

* realized 'mobile' possibility

* lowered expectations

* edited post just in case
I'm going with Star Ocean 5 as it has three of the letters of Star and 0101 which is 5 in binary.

speaking of FF13 it's really a shame Orgia died. this is amazing. hhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLQ7lL704kQ

:( Aww I didn't know she died. She did some great stuff. Now I'm sad.

Mumkhar dies close to the end of the game due to his massive chainsmoking habit though.

Actually I think everyone does.

It was pretty anticlimactic.

... Also the final run through Bionis' Lungs was... mentally scarring.
Just be glad they didn't decide to include the Bionis's Colon.

How do you know it's not just a shameless cash-in?
Well it is impossible for us to know that until the game comes out, but if what the developers are saying is true, then the game does not sound like it at all. We know that the diversion point between the two versions is chapter 6 (although I'm not sure whether that is before or after). They have said that both versions have as much content as Awakening. Awakening had 27 chapters and 23 paralogues. Even assuming they were talking solely about the main story, that would be the neighborhood of 20 unique maps for each game or 75% of the game. If they meant all content, then that would almost be 90% unique content between the two versions. Factor in the fact that the second campaign comes at a 50%+ discount (2000 yen versus 5076 yen), and it hardly seems like a cash grab (assuming that their comments are accurate and that the campaigns don't somehow come back together two chapters after the divergence point).

Now we're watching Disney's Hunchback of Notre Dame, which I am pretty sure I haven't seen since it was in theaters.  I have always felt like the soundtrack was amazing, but I didn't remember that it looks really good too.  It's an extremely strange and surprising choice for what's ostensibly a childrens' movie, and I might have more of an issue with it if I knew better the many ways in which it doesn't match the book (for example, I know that Quasimodo dies), but as it stands, there's a lot I like about it.
Well one of the ways that the book is different is that Captain Phoebus in the book is an antagonist who just wants a one-night stand with Esmerelda (he has a fiancÚ). When Esmerelda is falsely accused of murder him, he stands by and lets her be executed. Needless to say, he had a good PR agent for the Disney movie. :p

Its basically a question of how do you like your Fire Emblems. White Version (Awakening Style), Black Version (Classic Style) or Atlus Version (Persona Style)?
I would say why not both, but then again Dot Persona Emblem looks pretty amazing...

Whee, I beat the Tower of Agito last night! Not looking forward to going through it a second time next go round.

Like Klyde, the story made little sense to me.
Code:
I also did the same thing you did during Cid's trials. I sent all my melee people down the magic path and was cursing up a storm at the stupidity. Gilgamesh in the purple door was harder than the final boss.

So what exactly didn't make sense about it?

Code:
Purple door? What purple door? I think I missed that.
