16  Media / Game Journals / Re: A Game Journal Reborn on: September 19, 2015, 06:06:04 AM
Been playing Metal Gear Solid 1. Going to be slowly playing through the series. Game's story is fun so far. Feels like it gets a little preachy whenever it goes to nuclear stock footage, but otherwise excellent story. Controls suck though. >.> Well I'm exaggerating, but I don't have control stick use and the confirm button is stuck on O, so I am looking forward to not having to deal with that once I am done with the game. Although I am planning on at least two playthroughs, so I am probably going to be cursing at whatever game I play next as I have to relearn using X for confirm. >.>

Also been playing Rune Factory 4. Basically done with combat in the game, so I am just dealing with farming and making everyone love me, which will be very easy once I can start growing Emery flowers and making Love Potions out of them.

Please don't tempt me! I've been playing Hyrule Warriors since February or March. I've clocked about 140 hours into it. I must stop and move on!

Hey, Dragon Quest Heroes...
500 attack Megaton Hammer. You know you want it! :p
17  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Kingdom Hearts collection for PS4 on: September 19, 2015, 05:46:51 AM
By the way, based on what has happened in the story so far and everything we know, I made a prediction with a friend that Kingdom Hearts 3 would open with Kairi's Mark of Mastery being a mission to go to the realm of darkness and rescue Aqua and I'm just posting that here so I can brag about being right when I am.

That would be hilarious to me since, KHDDD spoilers:

Sora has been using a Keyblade for the longest of the trio and he has yet to pass the Mark of Mastery. So Kairi, the one with the least training taking the test before Sora had passed would just be hilarious to me.

Master Sword skill in Hyrule Warriors has been unlocked. It was a nice reward, but I think I'm going to force myself to put the game down now so I can move onto something else.
But now that you have unlocked the Master Sword, you need to unlock the super awesome skill (Legendary?) on every other weapon so that you have super weapons of every type!

*throws his debit card at his monitor* Take it all, just give me that game!

My only critique atm, is I kind of wish they gave those three girls at the end of the trailer different hair colors as I'm 90% certain they are supposed to be different girls and they could use some more distinction between them other than hair style, clothes, and glowing tattoo location.

How has this not been mentioned yet? New Danganronpa announced. Not too many details yet other than it will be Danganronpa V3 (and probably some subtitle that hasn't been revealed yet.
21  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Developers vs Publishers (who's game is it anyway?) on: September 13, 2015, 07:18:27 AM
I never liked the concept of publishers being different from developers. Monolith was a good example there, as because they were pressured to release their game by their publisher, we got Xenogear's second disc of horrific shit. Being a publisher just makes you a money hungry asshole to developers, but being both like the current SE seems to be mostly a blessing and maybe a tiny bit of a curse. No deadlines to follow (or more specifically, unrealistic ones), no secondary input about ways to generate more revenue by cutting and piecing content together for dlc, just the company trying to make something that will sell well and please fans, which will make them more money.
Eh Monolith has nothing to do with Xenogears...alright that isn't entirely true. Monolith did not exist at the time Xenogears was released as it was essentially created by the core members of the Xenogears team after Xenogears was released (many assume because of disc 2). Xenogears was developed entirely in house by Square.

I would consider the developer the one more responsible for the game (flaws and all). It just might sometimes be easier to attribute the game to the publisher if the publisher is better known or owns the rights to the IP even though the developer is more likely responsible for the game's strengths and weaknesses.

Listen.... *pats*  Listen... you need help.  I know you think you need this, but if you just get through the detoxification process, you'll be better off, I promise.  Get someone you trust to be your Sponsor.  When you feel like buying another Amiibo, call them up and tell them how weak and vulnerable you feel.  Allow them to remind you of all the reasons why you shouldn't spend your money on Amiibos.  You're never going to get through this alone, man.
Eh, or I could just continue to buy them for decorating my living room. They do cost less than a new end table would!

Plus 32 (well 33 once I get my Classic 8-bit Mario) is nowhere near enough awesomeness in my living room! :p
24  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Can you tell me about Suikoden II? on: September 11, 2015, 06:38:02 AM
Suikoden II thread turns into big Arc the Lad II praise thread - I wonder if that's ever happened before...maybe I'll try to hijack the GameFAQs board.

Working Design completely killed the localization and that omake box that came with the trilogy made the games feel even more special and unprecedented. Really, everything about the PSX Arc games is unprecedented. Like, who made these games? Where are they now? G-Craft?? The games came out on PSN a while back and still don't get very much attention. It's nuts.

One of my favorite gaming memories is trying to finish the 50 floor dungeon in Arc I - it was the night before the first day of seventh grade, and by the time I got to the bottom, it ended up being like 2am haha...went to school a complete zombie.
A shame that Arc the Lads 4 and 5 were really not that good. >.>

I remember that dungeon, and more importantly, Choko. She destruction on wheels.

Amiibos really are the worst.
You shut up. I can quit Amiibos anytime I want!...oh wait today's Amiibo release date! To Amazon!...in 11 hours.
26  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X on: September 10, 2015, 07:00:11 AM
Must have sold out while I was working. :(

Was able to snag the Yoshi's Wooly World Amiibo Bundle, Chibi-Robo Amiibo Bundle, and the Zelda New 3DS + Triforce Heroes Bundle, though. So I'm mostly happy.
Sorry to hear that you couldn't get a copy. I happened to luck into one myself by checking the Xenoblade Chronicles X reddit at the exact right moment. What you should probably do (preferably today) is stop by your nearest Gamestop and see if they are accepting preorders for it.

Beat Dragon Age Inquisition: Trespasser last night. OMG!!! That was an incredible DLC. So much freaking lore packed into it and an absolutely perfect ending! Looking forward to Dragon Age 4!
28  Media / Game Journals / Re: A Game Journal Reborn on: September 09, 2015, 04:59:02 AM
Woke up early and am starting to play Dragon Age Inquisition: Intruder before work in the hopes of finishing before going to work. Probably going to fail. Really wish this thing had finished downloading yesterday. >.>
29  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy VII Remake (updates in the 1st post) on: September 07, 2015, 07:31:46 AM
i just perused gamefaqs and there seems to be a huge debate on how the combat should be. wich camp is gonna be pissed off more if they dont get thier way? i have a feeling the people that want it to have arpg combat are a vocal minority that arent true fans.
"True fans?" I can see that this topic is going to be heated...not that I expected anything different. I suspect that the people who want ATB are the ones who would be more pissed off if they don't get their way, but for better or for worse it isn't going to be ATB. The battle system is going to be revamped. I don't know if it is going to qualify as ARPG, but it will be different.

Incidentally, I am sticking with my prediction that no one is going to be happy with this remake.

Beat Danganronpa Another Episode yesterday. Very satisfying game. It went very dark in some place, but it was still enjoyable. Now to wrap up the platinum and return to Rune Factory 4.

I do have to wonder, is anyone else playing Danganronpa Another Episode? Haven't seen anyone else discussing it here.

I haven't played BoF3, but Teepo is the onion-thing and Milla is the bunnygirl, right?
They are talking about Tales of Xillia. The onion thing in BoF3 is Peco and character who I assume you are referring to when you say bunnygirl is Momo. There is a Teepo in BoF3, but that is not who they are talking about.
