So, Suikoden III. Great Suikoden game or the greatest?
V is the best Suikoden, so I guess by process of elimination III is only great. :p

is what pride had wrought the last story mission? cause if it is...wow dissapointed
Technically two after that, but The Final Piece is kind of short. Not completely sure why you are disappointed in that though.

Whee got the Gummi ship in KH2, now time to master these two courses! Not sure where I am going to find 12 wing parts for one of the EX missions though...

= The love put into the COMMAND menu is amazing and totally appreciated.  Hell even that singular white room where Naminé is had its own theme for almost no reason other than keeping consistent.
#hotbusiness
That is one of those small details that makes me love KH2. My first thought when I first noticed the changing menu was a backstage tour in Disneyworld years ago where the tour guide pointed out how the trashcans are different in every portion of the park to maintain the "illusion." The command thing feels like the same sort of thing to me, and it just makes the whole thing feel more Disney to me.

I feel like the game doesn'thave much dialogue. I ran around Storm Coast two hours yesterday and found some shards and a rift and some stuff but apart from party banter there was no kind of dialogue. Maybe I have yet to run into it but I was expecting full on cutscenes for everything like in SWTOR. Most quests are you talking to your requsition officer, gethering 10 elfroots and turn them in with no kind of dialogie besides "This might be useful" not even any voice recording for "gather 10 elfroots". Reminds me of the fetch quests in DA2. But I might just have missed some bigger quests. It is a large area and I have not explored all.
There are a lot of quests in general that don't have dialogue. Requisitions are just filled. In storm Coast the big quest is the Blades of....something. Although I think if you take the violent path as opposed to the peaceful path there isn't really any dialogue.

1a. Can't decide. x_x

1b. Sheena, just always loved her.

1c. Cheria with Asbel in a close second place. The two of them made Graces nearly unplayable to me because of how deep my hatred for them went.

2. Does Teepo count? If Teepo counts then Teepo.

3. The degree of my recollection on this topic is so varied that I don't think I can give a good answer here.

4. I'm going with Symphonia because it is the one I remember liking the most, although that may very well have just been that it was new to me when I first played it, although I remember liking it just fine when playing it again. Don't recall disliking any of the others (except maybe Legendia) but none of the others really stood out to me.

5. Pass.

6. I'm going with Xiliia 2 although Abyss is up there also.

7. Tales of Phantasia because it has one of my favorite tracks of all time, Take up the Cross. Tales of Symphonia is probably second for me because it has Full Throttle which is just listening to my childhood.

Bonus: After watching the video, I am going with Abyss.

It has now been 10 months since Magi was about Aladdin, Alibaba and Morgiana.
10 entire months.

Can we call this publication suicide by this point?
No because it is nowhere near as bad as the year of Sasuke in Naruto, and hell Naruto survived that and continued for several years after that. We had one major flashback, which arguably was Aladdin's back story and then we skipped over to a villain arc, which should not be lasting too much longer.I'll admit that Magi has had some serious pacing issues lately, but I have seen much worse.

I find it extremely hard to believe that you're not having texture loading issues to at least a minor extent.  I've seen differing reports on it, though and some people with fewer than others.  It is a confirmed issue, one that, as far as I'm aware Bioware has said nothing about fixing.

I'm very sensitive towards FPS drops, so to me they're very blatant.  The entire first cutscene basically chugs, for example, while simultaneously not loading the NPC clothing at all.   It's a poorly coded mess and I'm ashamed it was released in this state.  The FPS tend to start dropping when rifts are anywhere nearby but are decent otherwise.

I have a thin PS3.  My old fat PS3 died a while ago.
As I said, sometimes I'll gain control of my character when the textures are still loading (especially when I am running around and talking to everyone in Skyhold causing constant zoning and loading), but I don't think I have ever had a conversation go beyond three lines of dialogue without the textures fully loading. Can't recall any FPS drops near rifts either, although that might just be a difference in terminology as I do recall occasionally having very short hangs near rifts, but never more than a quick second or two when I first approach them. I have certainly had occasional issues with the game. The worst one being when I pulled a switch in the oasis, my game dropped either FPS or processing speed to something like a sixth of what it was before and it appeared to be unfixable. Fortunately had an auto save from before pulling the switch and next time I pulled it had no issues.

Super thin PS3 here.

Anyone playing this on PS3? Been busy with work/night classes/other games and haven't opened the packaging yet. Seeing the grief online I am half wondering if I should try take it back and get It for the ps4 instead (don't have one yet but will sometime in 2015)

I'm playing it on PS3 and it plays horribly.  Clothing and weapon textures don't load half the time, FPS drops are frequent,  even in cutscenes, and the trees look like early PS2 level. I'm not joking or exaggerating, I think FFXI's trees have more detail.
O.o I've been playing on the PS3, and it has been perfectly fine for me. Never had a problem with textures not loading, they might still be loading when you gain control but they all do show up. FPS drops, while they do happen, haven't been too annoying. And I don't really pay too much attention to the trees so I dunno what they look like.

Bigger issue for me has been occasional crashes but they have been fairly infrequent for the most part.

I'm doing the Redcliff mages quest. Love it.

I know right, In Hushed Wisphers is one of the best missions in the game. Everyone should play that mission at least once just for the experience.
Personally I sided with the Templars as I found siding with Fiona to be.....not something I could bring myself to do. Templar mission was fun though. After I beat the game, I'll load up a save from before the branch and try out the mage mission just for fun.

Lololol. Looks like Hino wants to make an even bigger piece of shit than WKC.
Oh come on, let's be optimistic. They can make a good game....right? The original trailer for White Knight Chronicles looked good at least, even if that isn't how the game systems ended up. >.>

Oh hey a mask....I wonder which character is secretly a villain or has an alternate version that is a villain this time. >.>

It would be very hard to go wrong with any Rune Factory or Harvest Moon game. My favorite one that I have played though is Rune Factory 3. It just got everything right. Haven't played 4 yet though, so it could possibly be better.
27  Media / Game Journals / Re: A Game Journal Reborn on: November 26, 2014, 05:53:12 AM
Which ending was it?  There's I think 5 endings.  Two are jokes, one is super bad, one is "true" and the last is more of the fan favourite.

Ahhhhhhh, that explains it. Guess I'll look which one I got. I'm guessing either normal or bad.
Don't think you got bad based on your description of the final fight. Easiest way to tell would be to check your trophy collection as each of the endings has a different trophy.

Ps one of the previous games let you change your face a bit in some Mage lair. Is there anything like that here?

Did anyone find something like this yet?
Nope.
29  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Atelier Series on: November 26, 2014, 05:46:51 AM
I know the game is old but recently I decided to get Mana Khemia from the PS store fro the Vita. I knew beforehand the port didn't run well on the PSP but I read somewhere it ran pretty good on the Vita and I can confirm it does.
It does take a while the get used to the muddy backgrounds but the game is great. It starts slow but the characters, the battle, the level up system, the alchemy, it all works so well and they all make the game so much fun.

I became a fan of the Atelier series during the PS3 era so I didn't play any of the previous ones. I didn't have much expectations for this game but I can safely say it surpassed them already and I'm only about 12 hours in.
If anyone here is like me and started playing the Atelier series recently and didn't play the old games, I can already recommend this game. From what I've seen playing it on a PS2 should be much better since it has better visual, loadings (although the Vita loads it instantly) and dual audio which the PSP version doesn't have.

I bought this game while waiting for my copy of Escha & Logy to arrive from mail and now it is still closed while I play this game.

So, anyone else have played this or the sequel, Mana Khemia 2?
Mana Khemia is one of my favorite games from Gust (and probably somewhere in my top 20 games). The characters and plot are great in MK. MK2....it isn't bad, but it is nowhere near as good as MK. In addition to MK2 having more annoying characters overall, the two major plots in it were forgettable (literally as I can't remember how they ended despite still remembering the major plot ending and most of the character endings from MK1).

Wow that is a lot of power. I guess you earn a lot more power later on. Or I have not played enough or doing the wrong things. I also feel lost when it comes to crafting. I still use the pre order gear. Most loot is just trash.
You gain power from just about everything you do. I'm a completionist so I did so much stuff before visiting the Crossroads in the first mission that I had already killed the first dragon you can encounter.....who is level 12. >.> Don't follow my example, just keep exploring and completing quests and you'll gain power naturally. Also just realized I worded my last post poorly, I meant the last story mission I had done not the last story mission in the game. x_x. Side note, wiped out a good chunk of my power unlocking optional areas yesterday.

Loot should get better over time. I think it is randomly generated based on your level for the most part.

there'll be requisitions that you can do over and over again by turning in materials and give you power and influence so don't worry too much about those. I'm just sitting on like 200 power, also, it does matter who you send on the war room missions so make sure to read what each of them want to do.

Eh I find requisitions to be a waste of time unless you need a quick point and happen to have the items.
