So quick spoilery question for people who have gotten through the Ar Tonelico cameo portion of the game...

Code:
Do you witness the Grathnode Inferia at the end of that portion of the game? I ask because listening to the Concert CDs there is one song which sounds to me like hell is being unleashed with occasional bits of softer music. At least one of those softer pieces of music, I am fairly certain one of the softer pieces is straight from the Ar Tonelico.....and that portion of music sounds like it gets stabbed. So the music sounds to me like hell being unleashed as the world of Ar Tonelico is killed aka Grathnode Inferia. So I'm curious if my interpretation of that song is right or not.

So the demo is out now, and I just discovered that there is no thread for this game! I'm still early (I think?) in the demo as I am about to enter the first dungeon. I am loving this game so far. Mostly because I am finding it hilarious. Gameplay seems decent, but that the fact that this game is getting a U.S. release still makes me chuckle. Plus it has glorious lines such as "Thank you for giving me permission to make children with your sister." If the rest of the game is like this then, GOTY for me already.

Ok. that's weird, because the only Feat of Strength I have is "participated in Beta" when I beat the game prior to this whole switch...ah well...
Check again. They don't add to your number of Feats of Strength on the summary page (no idea why) and they are in separate sub sections of Feats of Strength from the other Feats.
Had to lower the difficulty down to expert.  Sorry, this is shit.  Four fucking hours on Act V and I'm barely finding anything to keep me afloat.  Maybe you're supposed to play it the first time on normal or hard and then work up to the higher modes, but the fact that we've all played this game up and down is fucking the difficulty royally.  There's no difficulty curve, just a straight cliff of, "Fuck you, find better equipment."

Edit-
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure everything is fine when you take a fresh character through loot 2.0 and get equipment as it's supposed to come now.  I'm sure that fixes the difficulty curve.  But I'm having the exact same problem I had when 2.0 came out, where the difficulty is crazy hard but the drops even things out.  Problem is the higher level drops just aren't happening, and now I've lowered it to the point that they probably won't come.  I get that this is a no-win scenario considering how many hours people have put into the game, but right now things are just not fun and it feels like old school inferno where a fucking number wall is keeping me from having fun.  I love the new boss and enemy designs and how they force me to stay mobile, but sections like The Ram just feel like artificial equipment barriers.
I feel your pain. I was told by a friend that there is an equipment power jump at 66, but I'm 68 now and I have barely managed to find anything new since 65. Heck I think I'm still weaker than my friend's level 60 character from pre-RoS (or at least squishier).

Whee got the Concert Sides earlier this week and finished going through them last night. I think I liked all the music on them. Adding quite a few of them to my regular playlists.
245  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Diablo 3? on: March 27, 2014, 07:01:06 AM
Really not enjoying Act V atm. Mostly because I am not getting drops that are really improvements over my current gear, so I have to drop the difficulty level as I get further into the game meaning I get less drops, and I still don't get any gear improvements and it is just continuing. I'm level 65, just hit the first boss.....and now I am going to have to drop difficulty again. >.>

Did they remove achievements, and then add them in again, or am I just imagining things?
I could have swore when I beat the game the first time around at launch, I got all the boss achievements. Now that I'm playing through on my Crusader, I'm getting them again?? What gives?

That being said, Crusader is so much fun. This is what I wanted from the start. I'll probably play up to the end of act 4 with him, and experience act 5 on my Demon Hunter.
All achievements that referred to difficulty were moved to Feats of Strength (because they are now impossible to get) and replaced with new achievements that refer to the new difficulties.
246  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: 999 on iOS. VN only! on: March 27, 2014, 06:51:17 AM

Code:
Don't get too excited. It's just a new bad ending that occurs when you choose Door 3 as your second door. It's just another Death by Clover™, just less...unsettling. They even reuse the same "outstretched hand" CG.

Code:
Out of curiosity (since I'll never get the game on iOS) what does she use to kill you in the new ending?

Been playing Infamous Second Son. Game is enjoyable. Really like that I get a full set of exploration powers in one of the first few story missions. Like that powers don't require stupid stunts to unlock now. Got two districts free now. Game says I am 23% through the game. I suspect that I'm not that far along in terms of time investment though

Watched Frozen last night. I enjoyed it. Liked how they touched upon the whole "true love" trope. They managed to time most of the comic relief's scenes perfectly (cutting off from him right before he got annoying). Liked the characters, liked the majority of the music, and I thought it was a very enjoyable film overall.

In the middle of chapter 4 in Bravely Default, currently grinding to prepare for chapter 5.
.....Why are you grinding in chapter 4 to prepare for chapter 5? The moment you enter chapter 5 is the moment the most efficient grinding spot opens up. I guess you might mean to prepare to get to chapter 5, but still minimize your grinding in chapter 4 because you get a better spot in chapter 5.

Glad you guys reminded me about this. I just ordered the Concert CDs for this game. Woot!

Playing Diablo 3 while waiting for Infamous Second Son this Friday.

So I'm in a bind as to what to play next. On the one hand, Fire Emblem for 3DS is really enticing. On the other, Danganronpa. On the third hand (radioactivity is a hell of a drug), I could finish Bravely Default which I'm very lukewarm towards at the moment.

Judging by how I usually end up picking out games to play, I'll end up playing none of these and likely play Killer is Dead.
I say finish up Bravely Default so you can see the lame ending and never have to worry about it again.

To me the axe ending was more shocking than anything. It was the 2nd ending I got and I was like, OMG THIS IS AWESOME.(1st was sub and ofc I was super into it already, I fell in love with the game almost immediately after the first puzzle).
Im glad to see that you decided to see all the endings, even though you don't really need to see the bad ones to get the main story, you lose a lot of interesting tidbits and details about the characters.
Safe and True is where it's at, that's when you truly get valuable information. The true ending is basically half the story on it's own. The sub ending won't impress you all that much btw.
Eh I was sort of meh on the puzzles (partially because I regularly was stuck because I was supposed to click on something that I didn't think was clickable). I finished getting all the endings yesterday (actually already had gotten sub by the time of my last post). I'm glad I checked them all out (even though Coffin really is a waste of time).

Code:
Game was enjoyable, I saw several plot details before the the cast, such as June being Zero. The whole morphogenic fields things is weird, but whatever I can accept that as a fact of this world what with how hard they were hinting at it through all the conversations. I was sort of meh on the ending since I wanted to see the reunion between Junpei and June, but I suppose I can live without that.

Side note, what was up with June's "illness"? I wasn't paying enough attention to it to remember for sure, but was it flaring up everytime you made a wrong choice regarding where to go? In essence was her "illness" the universe trying to eliminate the paradox of her existence?
253  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Trek or Wars.. on: March 16, 2014, 07:28:16 AM
As Epic as the Trek v. Wars arguments can be, I think these arguments would not exist had George Lucas used his original script for Star Wars. For then Star Wars would undeniably manage to overtake Star Trek......in camp value. Seriously, check out the comic series from Dark Horse that is based on the original script. In issue 2 (of 8), Anakin Starkiller punches Princess Leia to knock her out because she was't cooperating when he was trying to save her. In issue 5 she is confessing her love for him. So scary thought, George Lucas has actually gotten better at writing romances and Anakin/Padme could have been a lot worse. Also Han Solo is a green alien in the original script.

My mum bought be a Tribble when I was a kid.

My parents bought me a large bag of multi-colored, huge pompom/fabric ball things and told me they were tribbles.
Well then you need to buy yourself an official licensed Tribble to make up for the disappointment. Or a mama Tribble once it comes out!
254  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: A Game Journal Reborn on: March 16, 2014, 07:14:05 AM
So I've been playing 9-9-9 as I'm becoming a fan of Spike Chunsoft (I hope I remembered that name right) after playing DR and realizing they are also responsible for Conception (as the fact that Conception exists makes me smile and laugh). At first I thought the game was alright. I had read how the axe ending had given people nightmare fuel, and my response to it was basically meh. Then I got the knife ending which I knew was going to be underwhelming. But then I took the sub path, and I am now extremely intrigued. Seven's backstory just made this plot extremely interesting to me. I'm hoping the pieces he can't remember get expanded on in one of the three remaining endings.

Code:
Semi-obvious answer is that everyone who is in the game has a connection to the kidnappings that occurred. I'm 50/50 on whether June and Junpei were kidnap victims right now. Ace, Snake, and maybe nine all seem like they are too old to have possibly been kidnapped children.

I've put Tales of Symphonia on hold because I borrowed a DS + Pokemon White.

My only other Pokemon was Yellow and I couldn't even finish it.
This one though is much more fun.

I've just finished the last gym and I'm walking Victory Road.
My biggest problem right now is that I feel that my team is getting weaker as the opponents start using more powerful pokemons.
That said, my current team synergy is pretty kickass. I managed to beat the Dragon gym without losing a single pokemon.

I don't know how you guys captured them all in X/Y but even with less in White, it seems like an endless endeavour.
Just remember you gotta catch em all. Just sing that mantra every night as you go to sleep and it will give you the strength to hunt them all down! Also X/Y were extremely nice in that they gave you a device that gave exp to all Pokémon you were carrying, so you could just wail on some "high" level Pokémon with an overleveled lead, and watch as your unused ones get enough exp to evolve.
255  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Bravely Default: Flying Fairy on: March 16, 2014, 06:57:08 AM
So am I supposed to do the same thing in Chapter 6 as I did in 5? I really don't want to fight the same bosses again. It's so boring, and a bit on the easy side.

Although I'm pretty sure my cheese strategy of spamming those Pirate attacks with Free Lunch is not gonna last long. Neither is my Rampart + Nullify elements really that sustainable.
Yes, but there are some added story bits in Chapter 6.....which are the last new storyline bits for a while.
