To me the axe ending was more shocking than anything. It was the 2nd ending I got and I was like, OMG THIS IS AWESOME.(1st was sub and ofc I was super into it already, I fell in love with the game almost immediately after the first puzzle).
Im glad to see that you decided to see all the endings, even though you don't really need to see the bad ones to get the main story, you lose a lot of interesting tidbits and details about the characters.
Safe and True is where it's at, that's when you truly get valuable information. The true ending is basically half the story on it's own. The sub ending won't impress you all that much btw.
Eh I was sort of meh on the puzzles (partially because I regularly was stuck because I was supposed to click on something that I didn't think was clickable). I finished getting all the endings yesterday (actually already had gotten sub by the time of my last post). I'm glad I checked them all out (even though Coffin really is a waste of time).

Code:
Game was enjoyable, I saw several plot details before the the cast, such as June being Zero. The whole morphogenic fields things is weird, but whatever I can accept that as a fact of this world what with how hard they were hinting at it through all the conversations. I was sort of meh on the ending since I wanted to see the reunion between Junpei and June, but I suppose I can live without that.

Side note, what was up with June's "illness"? I wasn't paying enough attention to it to remember for sure, but was it flaring up everytime you made a wrong choice regarding where to go? In essence was her "illness" the universe trying to eliminate the paradox of her existence?
242  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Trek or Wars.. on: March 16, 2014, 07:28:16 AM
As Epic as the Trek v. Wars arguments can be, I think these arguments would not exist had George Lucas used his original script for Star Wars. For then Star Wars would undeniably manage to overtake Star Trek......in camp value. Seriously, check out the comic series from Dark Horse that is based on the original script. In issue 2 (of 8), Anakin Starkiller punches Princess Leia to knock her out because she was't cooperating when he was trying to save her. In issue 5 she is confessing her love for him. So scary thought, George Lucas has actually gotten better at writing romances and Anakin/Padme could have been a lot worse. Also Han Solo is a green alien in the original script.

My mum bought be a Tribble when I was a kid.

My parents bought me a large bag of multi-colored, huge pompom/fabric ball things and told me they were tribbles.
Well then you need to buy yourself an official licensed Tribble to make up for the disappointment. Or a mama Tribble once it comes out!

So I've been playing 9-9-9 as I'm becoming a fan of Spike Chunsoft (I hope I remembered that name right) after playing DR and realizing they are also responsible for Conception (as the fact that Conception exists makes me smile and laugh). At first I thought the game was alright. I had read how the axe ending had given people nightmare fuel, and my response to it was basically meh. Then I got the knife ending which I knew was going to be underwhelming. But then I took the sub path, and I am now extremely intrigued. Seven's backstory just made this plot extremely interesting to me. I'm hoping the pieces he can't remember get expanded on in one of the three remaining endings.

Code:
Semi-obvious answer is that everyone who is in the game has a connection to the kidnappings that occurred. I'm 50/50 on whether June and Junpei were kidnap victims right now. Ace, Snake, and maybe nine all seem like they are too old to have possibly been kidnapped children.

I've put Tales of Symphonia on hold because I borrowed a DS + Pokemon White.

My only other Pokemon was Yellow and I couldn't even finish it.
This one though is much more fun.

I've just finished the last gym and I'm walking Victory Road.
My biggest problem right now is that I feel that my team is getting weaker as the opponents start using more powerful pokemons.
That said, my current team synergy is pretty kickass. I managed to beat the Dragon gym without losing a single pokemon.

I don't know how you guys captured them all in X/Y but even with less in White, it seems like an endless endeavour.
Just remember you gotta catch em all. Just sing that mantra every night as you go to sleep and it will give you the strength to hunt them all down! Also X/Y were extremely nice in that they gave you a device that gave exp to all Pokémon you were carrying, so you could just wail on some "high" level Pokémon with an overleveled lead, and watch as your unused ones get enough exp to evolve.

So am I supposed to do the same thing in Chapter 6 as I did in 5? I really don't want to fight the same bosses again. It's so boring, and a bit on the easy side.

Although I'm pretty sure my cheese strategy of spamming those Pirate attacks with Free Lunch is not gonna last long. Neither is my Rampart + Nullify elements really that sustainable.
Yes, but there are some added story bits in Chapter 6.....which are the last new storyline bits for a while.

Well this week's issue of Shonen Jump was when they decided to celebrate the one year anniversary of World Trigger. So hurray for the best new series in Shonen Jump recently.

Now in One Piece.....my predictions on matchups have been horribly off so far. I think I have only really gotten one new match up right so far and that one is frankly still up in the air. I guess I can take some solace in predicting that Robin's power being a bad match up against Sugar's.....I just figured she would realize that. Have to say though that Usop's behavior at the end of the last chapter felt semiout of character as I thought he was supposed to have matured at least a little since the time skip....oh well.

60 hours in and I'm standing in front of the final boss after doing the same shit FIVE times. FINALLY. I've never been ready to finish a game I had previously loved so much in my life. Oh how things can change. Too bad I had to go to work, so it will have to wait until tonight. Any suggestions on that final boss from my fellow RPGer's?

I was going to ask about the second half of the game kind of sucking. I keep hearing it wherever I read about it.
The biggest problem is that the second half runs for easily twice as long as it should have. Chapters 5 and 6 should have been combined and then combine chapter 7 and 8. Although that probably still would have been too long for some people considering what is happening during those chapters.

Been playing the second DLC for Muramasa Rebirth. Just beat the Night of Endless Chaos last night, so now that I am invincible, time to kill everything between me and the second ending.

^ What. The Hell. Is That.
It is Agnes. I don't see why you are confused, she looks and acts just like that in the game. :p

Dangan-Ronpa

Really liking it so far. My only issue would be with the rhythm part of the trial. Feels slightly out of place and doesn't have that fun aspect that comes with actual rhythm games.
Yeah that is the worst part of the game easily. As the game goes on I countered by using skills that boost focus (you can get the lower version from Hina and the higher version from Celeste's final conversation). Then just hit R and spam button presses out the wazoo.

Yeah....grinding in chapter 4 is kind of pointless (if you can avoid it) as you can get one round random encounters with 500+ JP (999 with growth egg) in chapter 5. We need to get you up to Chapter 5 as soon as possible. So at this point the questions become, what level are you and which boss is giving you trouble? The advice for what to do depends on which boss is giving you trouble (as I recall there are 5 bosses with additionally two optional ones and one sidequest that has 7 bosses).

hold up, what's the trick there.
[/quote]
Not really a trick. Just have to be aware of the fact that Rafflesias give a ridiculous amount of JP. Plus you can find them in groups of 6. You find them on the Water Temple Continent. I think the encounter rates are the same in the dungeons and the world map, although I think I tended to use one of the dungeons. When I was level 60ish I was able to one round them by spamming 4x Crescent Moon with each character. Just set that to autobattle run around and you should be able to beat everything in the area and do light speed grinding. One thing to remember is to grab the accessory that prevents enemy first strikes. There is one enemy encounter in the area that can f you up if they get the first strike.

Not to mention the fact that completing sidequests in Chapter 5 and beyond will net you 999 JP guaranteed (and almost all of the sidequests consists of a single battle), and there are a ton of them.
Honestly? I found those to be a waste of time (for grinding) because I had to be in a lower level class to benefit which made the battles take longer, and it was just a lot faster to beat up the random encounters for JP.

When I started grinding for jp/exp in chapter 6, I just hung out in the earth temple, and abused the hell out of crescent moon and dualwielding. It's easiest in chapter 6 after you get access to the sage class, as they learn an ability called obliterate which 1 shots enemies at the start of a fight so long as you don't get surprised. Full exp, jp, and pg, so it's absolute cale for grinding.
Obliterate does make things go faster. Using Crescent Moon on Water Temple Continent random encounters in Chapter 5 is fast enough though. Or at the very least it works for getting you the 20 levels you need for Obliterate to work.

I really like this project on a conceptual level. I like having multiple main characters. I like having the game spread 30 years. I like the idea of shaping the world through choices. I'm unsure however whether I actually think this team can pull off a quality game with those aspects. Probably will back eventually, but I don't when I'll get around to it or how much I'll be in for.

Ok so Marvel is obsessed with Avengers and The 'BIG' characters. Fair enough but keep it fresh and expand the universe. Im anxiously awaiting Days of Future Past but I want to see a Silver Surfer origins movie. Am I alone here? Maybe the FF reboot will remedy this:/
It isn't so much that Marvel is obsessed with the 'BIG' characters, at least when it comes to X-Men, FF, and Spiderman. Those three are licensed out to 20th Century Fox, and they have to keep making new movies focused on those properties every so many years or they'll lose the license. Frankly it is entirely possible that a Silver Surfer movie wouldn't meet the license requirements. Heck their license might not even extend to a Silver Surfer origin movie.

Hello, my brave fellow warriors!

I've been grinding away at my jobs/exp so that the chapter 4 bosses would be easy. Went to beat them last night and got my behind handed to me. Funny thing was, I was on normal difficulty, not even hard, lol... Ah well.

If you guys are saying chapter 5 is long, I'm a bit worried then. Might just power through. I really hate to drop the difficulty to easy or miss any asterisk opportunities since I have almost all of them... I feel like I'm cheating if I drop encounter rate or difficulty rate, but when the bosses spam attacks that drop 2500+ hp to the party w/ailments then not sure what to do.

Are there any "must" abilities/equipment I can adapt to my characters so that bosses don't dropkick my team in one round?

So been playing Danganronpa. Beat it a couple nights ago. I was accidently spoiled on the identity of the mastermind the night before that, but I was okay with that since it would have taken me a while to figure out what the heck I was supposed to be looking for in the endless debate sequence where you identify the mastermind. Knowing the identity it wasn't too hard to see the chain of reasoning that would lead to the conclusion, but I know I just would have mentally skipped over that character when trying to figure it out if I didn't know their identity ahead of time. Currently working on platinumming the game by first completing school reports then on to everything else that needs to be done!

Chapter 5 is killing me. Up until it started I was all like: "This is one of the best games I've played in years!" My opinion on it is continually worsening each time I play now. Why does this chapter even exist? Waste of space.
Don't worry, everything will get fixed in chapter.....ummm something. If you really aren't enjoying it, just beat up the story bosses and ignore the side quests and you should get through the chapter really fast.
