I am sad because I will be on an airplane when this initially airs. If I'm lucky I might be able to see one of the later showings. Worst case scenario, I will watch it in theaters on Monday.
The fact is, the whole "12 regenerations" was made canon during the 4th Doctor (I don't believe it was during Pertwee), when the creators had NO IDEA that the show was going to go on for that long. They probably made it 12 regenerations as a way of making the number so high that they figured we'd never have to worry. It was never a number to hang over our heads, so I have no problem with the creators making some easy way out of it, in order to stick with the original intentions of the show.
Well they made it 12 because that is the number of hours on a clock and clock=time and time=time lords. Science! But yeah I agree with you. Hell during one of the episodes, the crew at the time tried to imply that the first Doctor was not actually the first Doctor. I imagine that crew was basically thinking, "Eh hitting the limit will never matter so let's just throw some extras in there." Although I think the easiest way to punt the ball would be to just say, "The Sisterhood of Karn's elixir effectively gave him a new life resulting in him having 12 new regenerations when he was reborn." Easy out to punt the ball for a couple of decades.
Related - there are wild rumours flying around that

Tom Baker is indeed in the 50th story. And possibly Doctors 5-7. Based on a few things I've seen, I'm inclined to believe the Tom part
Code:
Yeah I had heard a rumor that Peter Davison is in it as well.

I agree with you though, there's rumors of them going to recast characters from the original trilogy in the new Star Wars....

just use some fresh fucking ideas! That expanded universe is so amazing and yet they keep going back to the same crap.

To be fair to ST again, the original timeline is bookended by Enterprise and Voyager. There's not really a lot they can do with that without having to address those turds.
And as I love pointing out, the new timeline still has Enterprise as canon.

Haruka Shimotsuki and Noriko Mitose have been already confirmed since last week when the newest characters and game systems were revealed in the most recent issue of Dengeki PlayStation. 4gamer's latest article for the game also echoes this. This was already a given, as since they were in Ciel Nosurge, it would make no sense to not bring them back for this game, especially considering that the character for who Mitose sang in Ciel Nosurge is also making a reappearance in this game.
Good to know. Hurray for more Haruka Shimotsuki! I'm confused as to why CDjan lists something different, but w/e. Maybe the entry is for something else and I am just dumb. x_x

Last night I saw Moltres!  Too bad it flew the coop before I could even make a move.  It was somewhere between the day care and Battle Maison in the yellow grass, I think.

EDIT: And if I'm to believe the Internets, then the most popular starter is/was Froakie.
Based on the number of Moltres's on the GTS compared to the other two legendary birds, yes. Yes by a lot!

If you check its Pokedex entry and area location, you'll see where it is currently. You have to find the legendary birds 12 times I think, before you can catch them.
Note that if you perform certain area transitions the bird will change areas as a well(and Fly will always cause it to change areas). The best strategy for encountering the legendary birds is to go to the Connecting Cave and soft reset whenever the Bird is in a nearby area as exiting the cave does not cause a location reset and you've got about 4 or five routes that you can get to without a position reset. Also keep a level 40 or something Pokémon in your first slot and use Repels so that the legendary bird is the only thing you can encounter in those areas.

Okay going to try something new here. Going to post my thoughts on all of the manga in this week's issue of Shonen Jump. And we'll see how long I keep this up.

One-Punch Man:
Code:
This was good enough. The story was enjoyable. I really want to get back to the main story though. I appreciate them giving us old one-shots to fill in weeks that we have missed, but I was really looking forward to where the series was going last time we saw it.

Naruto 655:
Code:
Is it over yet? I'm really not interested in whatever this discussion between Tobi and Kakashi is about. I read it once and I don't remember anymore. Looks like there is a good chance though that the fight with Madara might be the final arc from some stuff I have heard. So hurray on moving on to the final arc. And that would be a great segue way into Bleach, but we have quality first.

One Piece 728:
Code:
Oh One Piece, you almost never fail to be awesome. Good chapter. Flashback was shorter than I was expecting, but I guess we still have one left for who the Toy Soldier was and his precise role in all this (for example is he Viola's brother or husband). Interesting to note that there are 12 crew members of the villain's team (not counting Monet who is presumably dead). So we have some extras for the fights to come. Although I suppose Buffalo and Baby 5 might be worthy of solo fights since they have already been beaten before. Toy transformation scenes are still terrifying, even more when we see what I believe are two brothers who are unaware each other even exists at this point.

Seraph of the End (?):
Code:
I guess this chapter is marginally better than the first few. Which leads me to believe that the biggest problem with this series might be the lead character being uninteresting. Side note: I really like the way this artist draws girls. I don't know why, but I like the style. A shame the story still sucks.

World Trigger 39:
Code:
Meh chapter. It is alright, but not as good as the past few. Works for a breather though. Hopefully the fight net week will help it pick back up.

Bleach 557:
Code:
Oh hey Bleach.......yeah I don't get this one at all. Bambietta should just engulf him in explosions and destroy all of them. Really doesn't matter if you are immortal if you have no form. Or maybe the art is supposed to be showing that he isn't getting any damage at all? In which case why? Although either way the easy solution either way is to just run away because he just admitted that he will die on his own.

Nisekoi 99:
Code:
Eh chapter. Nothing great, nothing horrible. Probably going to say that a lot with this series.

DBZ 40:
Yeah I am not spoiler tagging this one. I preferred DBZ Abridged take on this scene (which pointed out the obvious of how Goku should have hidden himself before preparing the spirit bomb).
246  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Gust making a spiritual successor to Ar Tonelico: Ar no Surge on: November 18, 2013, 06:54:30 AM
So CDJapan has an entry for the game which lists four "artists" for it, "MINASE INORI", "KAKUMA AI", "Akiko Shikata", and "Yoshino Nanjo". I think the first two are voice actors and the second two will be the singers. This saddens me slightly as none of them are Haruka Shimotsuki. Oh well I can still hold out some hope that she is the (inevitable) third singer.
247  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Gen6: Pokemon X & Y on: November 18, 2013, 06:48:20 AM
So, while I was exploring Lumiose (mostly just walking like crazy to hatch an egg... which still hasn't hatched yet) I randomly encountered a
Code:
ghost girl in an office building who floated by me and said "you're not the one."
I'm curious if that's a one-off or if that's a hint to a further sidequest.
I am betting that is a location where a specific event Pokémon triggers some event (or a Mystery Gift key item that triggers a legendary). So assuming it is related to a ghost that would mean Giratina or maybe Hoopa.
248  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Religion on: November 17, 2013, 09:22:49 AM
Speaking on the subject of death, all this talk has reminded me that I once has a dream during which I believe I went to the afterlife (or at least the space between this life and the next) and spoke with an angel. I suppose it is equally likely (or considerably more likely) that it was just a dream, but to me I feel like it was real or at least a perception of what that portion of the afterlife is really like. Mind you I don't have any real theological revelations from said dream. Basically it went:

-I die in the dream
-I am in a black void with nothing in it
-Voice(angle) speaks to me saying that I've been given an extra week
-I ask why
-Silence for a few seconds followed by voice saying it didn't know why
-Then I am back where I died in the dream

Doesn't really give much of value, but the dream happened and it was real to me. Hopefully I was just in the space between this life and the next (or in "processing") as a black void would be a very boring afterlife.

Side note: I also saw a ghost when I was really little, so I really have to wonder why I struggle so much with the concept of the afterlife at times/the soul. I guess it is a combination of me fearing that I am wrong while another part of me fearing that I am right, but that other people are right about what the afterlife is (aka something that I don't want) making me hope that I am wrong, but still wanting to be right about not existing.....and I am just ranting now.

Who could murder this face?

:3

*quickly stashes elaborate plans labeled "Plan A for making it Look Like Tom Cruise did it"* No one could. Although you might want to watch out for Tom Cruise. You can never trust him.

Ah the joys of getting hardware at launch. I set my PS4 up yesterday and nearly thought that I had bricked it when I tried to update via the interwebs. After the system restart and indicating that I accepted the ToS and such, I just got a black screen for more than 10 minutes. I left it for a while unsure of whether it was working without video or not before just giving up and unplugging it. Then it seemed I might have bricked it because I could not get it to turn on. After a while though I accidently activated a safe mode boot up. From there I was able to start the system update via usb. And now it seems to be working fine. So hurray!

My butt is tingling with excitement~!!!!!!!

TMI?

I could have said "other" parts. :D

Yeah but that would have been hawt! :P Unless you are talking about other "other" parts, in which case I have no idea of what we are talking about anymore. o.o

252  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Religion on: November 14, 2013, 08:15:17 AM
Quick run down for me. I was raised as a Lutheran and went to a religious school at my church from Pre-K to 8th grade. Sometime during high school my religious beliefs shifted to include polytheistic/animist elements. As time has gone past, my religious beliefs have sort of shifted to being a combination of "I don't know," and "Everyone is right....kinda." Basically I believe that every religion is viewing a portion of the same thing focusing on things that make the most sense to them, but there is a larger picture that no one is fully capable of understanding, but that it is still our duty to try and reach a full understanding of it by coming to understand all views of it and reaching our own conclusions. I would give the answers as I currently understand them, but I should be getting to work and I want to touch on one topic brought up here....

The afterlife. Wow this is a touchy subject for me because there is no "good" answer. Heaven/eternal life? Most bring concept ever. Hell? At least it should in theory be less boring than eternal unchanging perfectness. Joining a collective consciousness? This to me is hell, I like my sense of self. Reincarnation? See liking my sense of self. Nothingness? See liking sense of self. What I would hope for is a changing afterlife where I still maintain who I am. Closest thing I can think of is Valhalla with its constant battles (which could be really fun if the Astral Plane is real and is where the afterlife is) and dying/rebirth. Doesn't feel right to me unfortunatly. Needless to say I'm not in any rush to find out the truth of the afterlife.

You mean Akiko Shikata? I ended up importing some of her other cds. The Harmonia album is amazing, and Navigatoria is almost as good.
That name sounds right for the one I couldn't remember. I like her music in Ar Tonelico, but I tend to prefer Haruka Shimotsuki in general....for whatever reason. Side note, I imported all 6 of the Harmonics CDs for the Ar Tonelico games.....probably will end up importing the CDs for this one also.
254  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: If you could invent/discover one thing on: November 11, 2013, 06:52:55 AM
Ha! Joke's on you. I'd make a harem of anime waifus and those are already personality-less, wish-fulling, mono-trait, doormats who are all secretly dirty whores and sluts inside (they just need you to show them).
Well good luck in making enough money to support your harem while still having enough time in the day to do anything with them. :p

Edit: Also be careful on your selections otherwise you might end up with a School Days ending.
255  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Anime/Manga Journal on: November 11, 2013, 06:47:13 AM
^ I got turned off Magi by the first episode when I saw an <8 year old fondling breasts like old men wish they could (that, and I heard it's going to likely be one of those 500 episode shows where my bandwidth and patience said "no").  Did it get better and less perverted?  Should I check the manga?
Yes check out the manga. I mean be warned that the "<8 year old fondling breasts like old men wish they could" is sort of the series sense of humor. It basically does a few light chapters between each major arc, and they frequently include at least one chapter that has a scene like that. Those chapters however are a minority of the series as a whole.

The anime does change a couple of things which I didn't like much though (like season 1 last episode... wtf was that?)

Finally, Morgiana is an incredible character and she alone makes following this serie worthwhile.
I don't even want to think about how bad the last episode of season 1 must have been. I saw the second to last episode of season 1 and my response was basically, "I love me some Magi, I will support it anyway I can to ensure more of it gets over, but this is not Magi. Not at all. I'm out. Damn them for screwing up a major character probably because they want to make the Sasuke clone more important or some nonsense like that. Grumble grumble gumble.

However yes, Morgiana is awesome.
