I've poked around in adventure mode a little bit. It seems like a nice way to grind, all things considered, but it still feels like grinding. I'm glad that you can just level characters with rupees, but you still have to have rupees to do that so...

I'll probably get the Majora's Mask DLC after I finish Legend Mode.
You should be aware that Adventure Mode is the meat of the game. It is where you unlock 90% of the things in the game. Also all of the released DLCs unlock new maps for Adventure Mode and that is their primary value. So keep that in mind when purchasing DLC. However if you are interested in getting the DLC, the season pass is totally worth it since you get a fairly significant amount of gameplay from each map (assuming you can stand going through that many maps).

Finally got Lana's 3rd Summing Gate weapon. Seriously one of the goofiest weapons ever. ;)
Do you feel the rhythm? :p

If you set your expectations to THIS, at least it can't get any worse, right?
It can always get worse. Just when you think it can't, then the rats come.

Awww I like Andrew Garfield as Spiderman. :(

Now we can see him and his many cross series antics like borrowing a costume and a paper bag from the Fantastic Fou-...oh.

Or maybe we can finally have that Secret Wars movi-....uhn.

Maybe they can do Civil Wa-crap!

Dammit Spiderman! Why does all your good cross overs have to involve the Fantastic Four? At least he can be in Avengers 3 right?
We're getting Civil War in the next Captain America movie. And while I'm sure they could put him in Avengers 3, it would be weird since I believe he has only been an Avenger once for like a year and I believe they are going to be facing Thanos in it.....and he seems extremely under powered to be introduced in that.

I don't know what's stopping a western release more, the fact that the villain brings up the Final Solution (as an alternate choice compared to the ongoing child hunts), that some of the ladies on your own team have rather unfortunate tastes in men, the fact that some of the gen 1 characters end up dying some rather gruesome deaths, the question about what happened to the gen 1 characters that didn't die at the end of gen 1, the unfortunate Jealousy mechanic, the question of whether to include the bug that allows gen 2's main character to fall in love with his own (half) sister, the set in stone plot based half-sibling incest, or the lack of a remake (ala the DS games).

And that doesn't even get into Thracia and some of the unfortunate implications that it made ("Say Delmud? How come you can use Beo's Sword when you're Nanna's brother and she's Finn's daughter and also can't use said sword and not because of her class?").

Also congrats on your 11 hundred and 11th post Jimmy.
Ignoring the fact that it would never get a U.S. release without a rerelease (and we know how many rereleased Fire Emblems got western releases to begin with). I think the fact that incest is a plot point would be the element of the game that is the strongest reason why we would never see it. Well that and the fact that the game is so casual with incest. For example, I'm 90% certain that Claude and Sylvia are unknowingly siblings that were separated and they are practically a canon pairing. I was also going to cite Seliph and Ceres, but looking at the wiki that seems to have been a bug.....which is hilarious to me as I recall that I got that by accident my first time through. So instead I guess I'll go with Shanan and his niece. Seriously game of thrones material right here!

I'm going with Send Slayer because it is the second game. I guess Bend Slayer could work also (taking first letter from each word in the title), but I have no idea of what either one could mean. >.>

Kingdom Hearts 2

- I don't remember the fight with Roxas being so damned impossible.

- I *JUST* made the connection of the name "Xehanort" following the Nobody naming scheme for "Another." Is there any significance to that? Is it mentioned in the games or has someone from the team made a comment about it?
Checking the KH wiki, it seems that the only time it was mentioned was it being his password in a scene that I doubt you have reached yet in KH2FM. However there is an alternate reading of his name as 'No Heart' which was the name of a secret boss in BBS that used his keyblade and armor. I suspect that there is significance to the name, but we have no details on what it could be. Only possible clue I can think of is that his keyblade is supposed to be one of the oldest ones (or at least I recall that being mentioned at some point), but if there is significance in that I have no idea what it is.

I picked up Hyrule Warriors yesterday. I'm not very good at it, but I'm hooked! It's so fun, and addicting! I love the attack animations, beating down hordes of enemies, and taking on the huge bosses. Dodongo and Gohma were great fun to beat up, and the over the top attacks when you wear down the weakness gauge is pure awesome. I'm struggling to stop playing. So far I'm liking Link best of the warriors, though Impa is pretty cool. Cia's attacks don't seem to have much rhythm to them (at least not for me) so I'm kind of struggling with using her, and I've not used Sheik at all as yet. Maybe the next battle.

Still, tons of fun, and I'm looking forward to being able to buy the DLC later on.
If you want moves with rhythm just wait till you unlock the summoning gate.....then curse yourself as it is the most hated weapon in the game. x_x

I started replaying this game in preparation for the DLC that just dropped. Now going through the Termina map and trying out the new characters, I have to say....TINGLE IS THE BEST. *mic drop*
I will murder you in your sleep! :p

Honestly, I know the series isn't as popular as Zelda by any means, but it would make more sense to me if they were to develop a Fire Emblem live-action series.
Fire Emblem 4 as a live action series along the lines of Game of Thrones would be so freaking amazing. O.O I mean you have everything you need there for it to be amazing. Epic war? Check. Crappy romance? Check. Drama? Check. Evil cult trying to resurrect their dark god through incest? Check. It will never happen since we don't even have an official English translation, but I can dream of it.

I don't understand the Cheria hate. Like, it genuinely baffles me.

She got caught once.  Never again was she a damsel.  People like to pretend she was pathetic and weak for the entire game, when I was really given the exactly opposite opinion.

And she was pretty rightfully angry at Asbel.  I honestly wouldn't have forgiven him so quickly if I was in her place.

So she has a few girly moments. Big deal. I mean, would you really want to jump into some stomach acid and be digested and then pood out?  Really?

Edit: Upon consideration of this post, Lloyd is far more of a damsel in his game.  He needs rescuing on at least 2 or 3 separate occasions, both due to being stupid early on.

I never really thought of that.
O.o When did I ever say that I hated her because she was a damsel in distress or because she is girly at some point? I hate her because she is annoying. I don't remember all the specifics of why I found her to be annoying, but I do remember disliking how she seemed to have an unhealthy desire to turn back the clock so that everything was exactly the same as it was during her childhood ignoring that the advancement of time changes people.....and then the universe bent over backwards to give her exactly what she wanted.

Plus I hated her "romance" with Asbel, that thing was painful to sit through. Every time I had to watch the chemistry (or more accurately lack there of) between those two characters I had to cringe as it was painfully obvious that they would not work as a couple no matter how much they loved each other. This is the sort of couple that would end up just not talking to each other after being married to each other for a few years because they have nothing in common, but then refuse separate because they love each other so much. And really I got the impression that her feelings for Asbel were more of "He was my childhood crush, therefore we are destined to be together," than love. Now I'm tempted to dig through my posts from when I was playing Graces f to see if I went into anymore detail there...

Edit: Oh hey found this. Seems I actually remembered my comments on her pretty well.

So yeah....Cheria, horrible character. She's a person who is trapped in the past and refuses to move past when she what? 8? (I suppose Asbel has this issue as well) She just is stuck in the exact same place, and she never grows. I know that her aid work is suppose to be her growth or w/e, but she just is yearning for the past and I don't recall her ever getting past that.....in fact the world just decides to grant her wish because why the hell not. Her love for Asbel? Totally just a childhood crush that really only exists because it seems like it was "expected" or something. Her and Asbel have no chemistry and could probably barely stand being in the same room as each other if it wasn't for their "pure and perfect love". Frankly I see their marriage ending up being very passive aggressive, where both of them hate each other without realizing it and staying together just because they have convinced themselves that they are in love. And goddamn it, this relationship gets way too much attention. Arggh!!!!

I'm getting more of a Kamen Rider vibe from this than anything.
Eh I can see that also. Regardless of the intended inspiration, I still like the change of personas enveloping a person. Although I do have to wonder as to how exactly that is going to work with stuff like Mitamas. My first thought was maybe there is no wild card this time, but then I remembered Igor is shown. I guess personas enveloping a person could end up being a mechanic that isn't always in play or just for cut scenes. Alternate possibility I guess could be no personas for the wild card that are smaller than him.

The number of paths for this to work is fairly small, while the number of paths for this to top the CDI games is fairly significant. I am not going to get my hopes up.

Honestly my biggest question right now is what era are they going to be going for or are they just going to make their own? Obvious answer is they make their own (which fill me with dread). However I feel like OoT could be turned into an absolutely amazing series.....although OoT is my favorite so I might be biased.
251  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: February 06, 2015, 06:37:10 AM
So did anyone else notice that they are making the personas.....closer to their roots conceptually this go around? Oh geez it is difficult to explain what I am thinking. Okay so we all know that personas as a concept come from the work of Jung as a concept of a personality shown to the outside world to hide one's true self from the world and I think also to protect oneself. In previous Persona games, personas have basically been summons in terms of how they appear in game. However in Persona 5, it appears that they have changed it up so that the Personas envelop the persona user's body completely separating them from the outside world in the same way that personas are supposed to protect a person's true self by hiding it from others. I like that change up.

Hard to say when the cat/Morgana is hanging out there with the rest not saying anything in the trailer.
Might not say anything in the trailer but we do see it "transform" and it is a party member, so it is probably the obligatory mascot party member.

Hyrule Warriors.

Oh my lord this is fun.
Do you have the DLC? Because young Link with the Fierce Diety Mask just released yesterday. :D
253  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Xenoblade Chronicles X on: February 06, 2015, 06:19:06 AM
I keep typing "Buy new Xenoblade" in every search box but nothing comes up. Why is this game making me stupid enough to do this, WHY?!
Just preorder on amazon. Best you are going to get at this point short of importing. :p
254  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of PlayStation(s) revealed on: February 06, 2015, 06:17:40 AM
I thought the Legacy (the big ship the game takes place on) was fine.... because it was Shirley that needed to get fucking killed.  OMG was there EVER a WORSE character EVER MADE?????  My jaw dropped and I smiled when
Senel rejected her.
An amazing and rare gaming moment if there was one.  Shirley can rot.
Well we can agree on Shirley being horrible at least. I would however put Cheria as being worse, but my hatred for her knows no ends.
255  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tales of PlayStation(s) revealed on: February 05, 2015, 06:43:07 AM
Last time I played it was when it came out, so my memory is foggy.  I remember it being a pretty typical 'destroy the world' sort of ordeal, and I have no IDEA what the three main bads were up to anymore.  But I remember loving the cast working together, and enjoying the character chapters quite a lot (despite the retreaded dungeons).  It wasn't the best, but at the time I enjoyed it.  I still give it credit for having the most unique game location in the series; a grand land ship is a cool idea and I love how the 'mainland' is never actually explored at all.
Well I admit that last time I played it was around release, and I barely remember anything regarding anything because I seem to have blocked details from my mind. >.> All I really remember is that I didn't care about anything going on, I hated all the character except maybe the hammer guy and Grue(is that the vase girl's name), and I hated the fact that the whole thing took place on a single continent (which I think I wanted to see crash into the ocean's depths).
