Get a Purrrloiner if you can. You can find them by castaway cove. Its got a great attack speed and nice damage as well as huge evasion. It trumps the mite very quickly. Plus, one of its tier 3 variants can be a pirate with an eye patch....it's so badass.
I got a purrloiner upgraded him to puss and boats he's pretty rad I named him Sebastian after my cat.

I'd agree with your reveiw, I don't think I'm very far probably around the half way point but already got pretty good geuss what the end is. Unlike My roommate, i'm taking my time with everything. he tore through this game the first week. he's still playing ng+ and collecting everything he's four trophies away from platinum. He said he beat the final boss the first time through at level 49 but it was tough. He said lvl55 would probably be goldy locks.

i'm naming all my familiars the goofiest names i can.

Mightarded is my main thing with the sword.
Boogibitch is my ghost.
Shitcake is that fairy.
HOTAMBU is that sun-like thing... I get worried about doing this because if I ever look up a FAQ on how to upgrade or find them, I won't know their real names. D:

haha yeah, i named my first one stabby, my sprite danky, i named one of my healer spirit things dr honky... if you forget what they are called you can look them up in your wizard book.

I also hope not. I'd love it if it just had smooth co-op play, because Xenoblade's combat system is perfect for that. It'd be a fantastic alternative to Tales games. Imagine the possibilities. Not necessary, but having it well-implemented WOULD be exciting for me.

a solid excuse to use tablet co-op.

i'm having a great time with it so far. i love drippy. i love that he calls oliver a cry baby for crying about his mom for three days.

before the demo i was worried the combat would be to easy. after the demo i was thinking it maybe super difficult at points. but i'm glad they have slowly doled out the commands so i feel it's got a pretty good middle ground going on. i just finished the temple of trials. i'm naming all my familiars the goofiest names i can.

I hope it's a srpg. I hope it's amazing. The xeno title looks good so far. If they get a few more good titles wii u starts to look interesting.

damn.... just finally got my library up to date with each current and past gen system.... thought I could hold off on a wii u for awhile.... doesn't appear as though I'll be able to suppress my appetite for this though...

After pouring over as much Ni No Kuni in the last 24 hours as humanely possible, and now waking up and seeing this...coupled with the rest of the gems on the way this year..... well, I'm calling it right here... I predict a revived wave of enthusiasm for JRPG's on par with the ff7/32bit era by the end of 2013

i just said over in the smt thread i bet that smt fire emblem cross over is what gets you to get a wii u.

ni no kuni is really fucking good so far...i hope your right.
22  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: January 23, 2013, 02:46:55 PM
Why has no one recommended Digital Devil Saga yet?
i was thinking the same thing i played dds after p3fes and nocturne and really i think it's the middle ground between the two.

i'm surprised that no one has been talking on this thread about the smt fire emblem cross over yet. i bet klyde get's a wii u for it...
23  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Xenoblade? on: January 23, 2013, 02:36:40 PM

24  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dark Souls on: January 17, 2013, 04:58:33 PM
$20 on Amazon for Dark Souls.  If you're into good combat, Dragon's Dogma has the best action RPG combat to date.  Being able to manually control climbing onto large enemies adds a layer of depth missing from a lot of action RPGs.  Both games are completely worth playing.
i'd concur, DD is combat is fun too i just wish there were more monsters in that game and a little better story too. demon's souls is on psn for 20$ as well.
25  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dark Souls on: January 16, 2013, 09:01:30 PM
for me it's a game i'd tell most people to at least try. the brutally hard hype made me think twice about getting demons souls but i'm glad i gave it a shot cause it's probably my favorite series this gen. rent it at the very least. for some people the risk/reward system in this game is a solid hook, for others not so much, but you'll never know unless you try.

The hook for me was the same thing that hooked me with the King's Field games (and Shadow Tower and Eternal Ring). Exploration, constant dread, an element of survival horror, and immense atmospherics.

I mean I think that if you liked Ico and Shadow of the colossus -- especially SotC -- it'd be up your alley.
Totally those were hooks for me as well. I had trouble with the controls on SotC so I stopped playing but I really need to go back and give it another shot.

i'm sorta wondering what will happen to that space marine mmo turned single player game or if that's going on the vaporware pile.

psn: XlieX

i don't play many online games besides demons/dark souls but you know feel free to add me if you wanna kill and be killed or co-op bosses.
i don't play many shooters cause i'm not a fan of first person perspective, however if it's top down or third person anything i might give it a shot. i might be willing to try borderlands or guardians of middle earth or just hack slash whatever.

Am I missing something? Can you do co-op in those games now?

It's possible to game the system in either Demon's or Dark Souls, find a place with few people and lay down signs, cycling through until your friend sees it.

yeah, sorry i wasn't more succinct.

i played the demo and i had a okay time with what little i played there is a prompt to push a certain button to do a special move (demon climb i think) presumably to get on the awning but i couldn't figure out what i was supposed to do. i would've liked the game a lot if i wasn't confused by that one little thing.

i never played any of the dmc games but i heard one of them is terrible (2 maybe?)
30  Media / General Games / Re: Ass. Creed III on: January 14, 2013, 11:05:17 PM
yeah the lucy thing seemed abrupt and left me confused too and the ac3 clean up dialog was insufficient. if given the decision in the end i'm not sure i would have done what desmond does.
