I'm got D3, I like it, giving it a chance and I also can't wait for T2. I'll get both.

Let the best game win.

Good points. I will stay positive on this game until something ends up being absolutely broken...

I am having fun searching thru endless gear tho. I can sit there for hours and just compare stuff and bid and search for exactly what I want.

Although I did enjoy trade games in D2, they had a downside. Many times you'd end up trading with the same people in  the hand ful of games that were avalible and wasting a lotta time getting items traded away. Then the ones you didn't want to use or at best keep for collecting were stuck in limbo cause selling them to a vendor was not only meaningless but felt like a waste. There is room for both - there should be a way to make trade games and have the AH functional.

There's also issues with the items themselves more so than the actual AH. The items still lack the attribute variety of D2. Correct me if I'm wrong but, off the top of my head I don't recall spell on hit, mana leech, multiple elemental dam. For example fire 1-12 cold 2-3 light. 1-8 on the same weapon and the MF and gold find isn't packed on specific MF items. These are just a few ways the items lack variety.

So...

How does everyone here personally feel about the RMAH?

I think I'm gonna have a love/hate with it. I wish bought items could be marked somehow so if someone kicks ass in pvp (when it comes) they'll be forced to be a bit humble about it...

Also, if there is any chance at all accounts can get hacked, that raises a pretty big issue for it if I was ever to consider buying anything.

It is however interesting to see a RMAH being legitamently implemented in a game, and one with such big potential.

Thoughts? Concerns?

Going on 65+ hours of D3.

Modded the heck outta Skyrim and loving it. SO much better than the console versions in my opinion.

Playing Tactics Ogre on the PsP and liking that too.

I don't really see buying any other game soon. I'm gonna give Torchlight a shot I think tho. but, I don't think i'll need to run out and get it on release day. Dragons Dogma looks "interesting" but, ultimately all reviews point to pros and cons so, that'll have to wait a while. I'm also considering ditching console totally. I don't see that much need for one OR just selling now while I can still get something for it and getting the next gen. ones when they come out. One of my unfinished games is Darksouls and thats got extra content on the PC version only - that seems like a must play at some point too.

I also wanna get TES3 and 4 and check out some of those mods I missed. That Morrowblivion looks especially interesting. Any site recommendations for TES3 mods especially would be apprieciated.

I wouldn't worry about the franchise though, someone is bound to acquire the rights to it (I'm guessing EA) and release a sequel eventually.

Ya.

Good point there. The game was successful - just not a the blockbuster they hoped for.
36  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Torchlight 2 on: May 27, 2012, 06:21:32 PM
Sounds good.  Always glad to promote Torchlight.  If anyone wants some random free Steam games, I still have extra copies of Torchlight 1 and Portal 2 in my Steam gift inventory.  If anyone wants either of them just PM me and we can arrange it.

Good job. Being that it does closely resemble a game I consider Top 5 for me without thought, an easy sell.

Im not sure how much other stuff Diablo type games get right arguably over other RPGs but, the randomized loot is where it's at. It's that random reinforcement that keeps me coming back and arguing its the best system and that everyone does X everyone gets X system isnt half as good. Even in single player offline RPGs I hate when things are in the same spot for everyone. It's kinda like a slot machine reward mentality with randomized loot and the set spot loot is always there for you when you're ready to go pick it up.

So ya. T2 has randomized loot? $20? Sold.

Looks like this is gonna be my only game for a while.

Gotta agree with Yoda.

I back Red Dead Redemption when anyone asks for a recommendation that doesn't have to strictly be an RPG. The game is near perfect imo.

It has many elements of RPGs.

- exploration
- great story and amazing ending (you'll be hard pressed to find a better one anywhere)
- items to collect (including outfits and horses)
- plenty of acheivements to unlock
- nice variety of enemy types
- ablities to learn (not quite like an RPG, but you gain them as you progress all the same)

Can't say enough good things about this game without a rant.
39  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Diablo 3? on: May 24, 2012, 07:40:14 PM
Very slowly messing with the game as it'll be a few weeks before I can pick it up; so I don't want to burn through all the fun at once. XD I've dabbled with a Monk and a Barbarian so far. Very much leaning towards the Barb. I hated the physical design but damn killing hordes of enemies with a single swing is just all kinds of fun. XD

My highest so far is barb 47.

Stacking life in NM and not dying much. I've got about 12.5k life. I hear barbs have trouble in Inferno tho., I wanna research that a bit more. I took a Palidan into the 90s in d2 and although I love the class and had fun with it, he couldn't really duel/PVP and had trouble taking out pack moreso than most classes like the zon, sorc or necro.

Use Revenge - a lot. The cooldown is quick and it seems to do a good job leeching life, saves my ass a lot.
40  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Diablo 3? on: May 24, 2012, 07:27:29 PM
PLAY THIS GAME..ALL OF YOU. I demand it.

Diablo III is better than sliced bread and The Beatles put together, there....I said it.

Agree agree... well, it's not better than the Beatles but - close lol

I have no curosity to play another game. This is what I've been waiting for. I'll have a back up game in case servers go down for a while. What's that game that came out last week? Dragons Dogma... I'm sure it's cool and all, ya ya.
41  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: disappointed of new generation rpgs..... on: May 23, 2012, 09:28:27 PM
Thats what MODs are for.

Find someone who was dissapointed in the same things that you were and changed them with a MOD.

Also, be straight with yourself on the nostalgia factor. I thought certain games were the BEST ever because of the feel I got at the time I played them and that feeling stuck with me. The fact is games have only been improving.

I feel something has been "lost" myself, but, compared to what has been gained graphically, AI wise and volume wise (shear choice thats out there now) I'll gladly say that was then and this is now.

Not sure if that exaclty anwsers the original post.... damn my job is boring.
42  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Dragon's Dogma on: May 23, 2012, 06:05:37 PM
Well Klyde,

The big question about DD is - does it at all feel like a WRPG? It seems to an extent that was the purpose, some kind of half breed.

Features like

- character creation
- an open world
- physical differences

Are western based features while JRPGs tend to have the opposites:

- linear or semi-open world
- handing you pre-made characters w/backrounds
- a little anime girl is Superman
43  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Torchlight 2 on: May 23, 2012, 05:59:28 PM
Monsoon,

That was it. Guess I'll get them both.

Just not much time to play all these games, that's the problem.
44  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Diablo 3? on: May 23, 2012, 05:47:42 PM
So after an hour of installation and a quick update of the vid driver...this game is amazing. XD Totally purchasing when the budget allows for it. Goodbye WoW~.

Good choice.

Get on fast, I'll have some items waiting for ya'

(^_^)☆

45  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: 10 things Japanese people hate about JRPGs on: May 22, 2012, 11:11:31 PM
I could agree with most of that list especially :

 1. The characters are all good-looking guys and beautiful girls

5. The actual game contents are subordinated to the theme song, voice actress, etc.

7. Hidden things you wouldn't understand unless you read a walkthrough

You can't actually hold #6 against the game or #10 being they are irrelevant to game play. JRPGs never go for any sense of realism. Of course I don't want a game to be "realistic" in every detail but I want some elements of realism in the game and generally nothing over the top with room for exceptions of course.

The last actual JRPG I played was FF10 (unless you count Tactics Ogre or Dungeon Siege 3 - I kinda don't).
