If you guys want to arrange something, you are more than welcome to. I havn't planned to leave it this long, but currently my gran is in hospital and its to die. So I've been practically living there for a week now waiting for it.
I'm sorry to hear that, man.  Hang in there.

(*sorta wishes he hadn't revived this topic*)

Hey, it's been awhile since we've had one of these. If the people wish it, I would try running another quiz. I could whip one up about Final Fantasy VI or Persona 3 without much difficulty.

The FIRST game music remix I ever knew of: Final Fantasy IV Celtic Moon: World Map theme.  That shit is from 1991.  Damn.

Now I will complain and insult and whine about damn near anything, but I never accuse someone of being pretentious.  Because that would be the pot calling the kettle black in the WORST way.

Looking forward to hearing the new episode.  Gonna load it up now and listen to it at work tomorrow.

1. Ys Seven
2. Rayman Origins
3. Assassin's Creed II
4. Dust: An Elysian Tail
5. The Walking Dead: Season One
6. Frog Fractions
7. Mortal Kombat 9

Frog Fractions is the best browser game ever, and it only takes maybe an hour.  Love that thing.

Mortal Kombat's story mode was... surprisingly good.  You use about 12-15 of the "hero" characters and get parts of the storylines of the first three MK games.  I was expecting it to be lame (like just about every fighting game's story mode) but it was pretty strong.  Might mess around with it more later.

Up next... is more Persona.  Playing Persona 2: Innocent Sin on my PSP and working on FINALLY making a perfect run in Persona 3: FES.  The first time I tried to do this, I missed it by two Social Links....  But now I'm going to unlock and conquer that Elizabeth fight.  Wish me luck....

It is simultaneously the weirdest and greatest thing that has happened to me all year.

Ridiculous thing happened today.

I had dental surgery last weekend and have been on pain meds all week.  I can eat solid food, but it hurts.  Thus, I've been eating a lot of soup, jello, and applesauce.  Last night I examined a package of applesauce and noticed that the brand has like ten flavors.  As a joke, I go on Twitter and say that I should write a blog post reviewing and ranking all ten.

This morning, I get a reply from the corporate Twitter account, asking for my address.  One thing leads to another, and now I have a box of sixteen cases of applesauce (10 flavors + 6 "organic" flavors) being sent to my house.  Should get it next week.  I'm now in the business of reviewing applesauces on the internet.  Twitter is goddamn magical.

^ On that note (again).  It didn't hit the news here but the Symphony of the Night creator left Konami -- didnt he?

I hope we get a "Killer Vampire Castle X" series now or something.
Why one would call that theoretical project anything other than CastleMania is baffling to me.  But yes, I'd play the **** out of it.

Playing Persona 3: FES again.  Third playthrough in three years.  Hard Mode, trying for 100% of S.Links and all of the Monad equipment.  I might have a problem.

Really enjoyed the user-submitted episode.  I heard really neat stuff from a few games that I have never played, never would have thought of playing, or even directly avoided playing.  My life is a lie now (just kidding; already kind of was a lie).  And I'm glad that the panelists seemed to enjoy the tracks I submitted!

My favorite tracks from Rain-Slick 4:

The Desert
The First Pillar
Battle!

And, because why the *** not?

My favorite non-remixed track from Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze:
Scorch 'N Torch

My favorite Mega Man X remix:
Brainsick Metal (Highway, Storm Eagle, and Spark Mandrill)

My favorite Persona 4: Arena remix:
Princess Amagi-ya (Traditional mix)

The craziest Chrono Trigger remix:
The Incredible Singing Robot

A Chrono Trigger mash-up that's kind of inappropriate:
The Corner / Schala's Theme (possibly NSFW due to drug references)

The new-ish (2011) Mortal Kombat game is definitely better than I thought it was.  Story incorporates the first three games, uses around half the cast; combat is extremely competent, with evident depth that I'm not capable of exploiting yet; the character designs are hit/miss but the variety between fighters is pretty strong overall.

Still, I've never been a Mortal Kombat guy (except for sleepover birthday parties 20 years ago, etc.), and I feel about it now the same way I did decades ago: this is a game for 8-year-old boys.  The hyper-violence, sexualized female characters, and preponderance of ninjas are all extremely appealing to little boys that would find such things THE BEST THING EVER.  I'm enjoying the character designs and violent action somewhat, but much less so at 28 than I would at 8.  I'm continuing to play it to see how the story ends (story's been way above expectations) and because the combat is actually pretty solid - I'm going to mess around in Arcade a little bit after I'm done with the story to try out the non-hero characters and mess around with arcade tags.

Best part of Bill & Ted is the mall scene with all of the historical figures going nuts while Beethoven is piano-ing along to Extreme's "Do You Want to Play?"  I mean, come on.

Listened to all of them except for the final movement, and have enjoyed them all quite a bit.  Well done, fellas.

Also have to say: of all the RPGFan staff and guests who had picks for the show, my favorites were John's.  Now I really want to DL a copy of The Raven.
