I sadly never got to play the original even though it was on Genesis and I think SNES. I wanted to though as I think it had graphic adventure elements and that is my fave genre of game. The one that came out a few years ago was a straight up FPS, this looks different again. Does it have graphic adventure elements again?
17  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Lunar Silver Star Story for the iOS. on: April 23, 2013, 12:04:59 PM
Lunar will always be one of my faves. It was the first RPG I bought (on the Sega CD system) that had voice acting. I was impressed at how much voice acting added to the game. I later bought all the decked-out Working Designs versions for the PS1 as well. "Aleax... Oh, Alex!".

Just saw it announced on Comedy Central's Facebook page. 13 eps this season then done. Sucks.

20  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Earthbound to be released this year on WiiU's virtual console. on: April 17, 2013, 11:54:30 AM
I can now stop using my WiiU just for watching podcasts on my TV now. lol

Yeah, this is probably the best gaming news I've seen in a decade or more. I was excited at first thinking it was just a 3DS remake of the original, but was even MORE excited to find out it was an all new game. Add to this the fact the big N announced Earthbound will be released on the WiiU virtual console and I'm about as happy as I've ever been about gaming.
22  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Well shit! There goes LucasArts on: April 05, 2013, 01:30:24 PM
I haven't cared about much they've done lately, but in the 80's they were my fave game company die to the graphic adventures they released. I LOVED those things... Full Throttle? Yeah. I always wished they'd re-release/update them for consoles, but it looks like that's never going to happen. Full Thrttle, The Dig, Loom? Man, SOOOO awesome. There are a few graphic adventures out there recently, but they all seem to be horror/suspense/thriller related. I miss the comedy of the ones Lucas Arts and Legend Entertainment released.

Wow...REALLY disagree with the article on this game. NNK, throughout the game, made me feel like I did in the 80's when I first played video game RPG's.

My friend got this and said it's super hard in single player. I'm thinking of getting it and playing through. Is it easier with two people? And the opnline co-op... can you playt he whole campaign or just some cheap thrown in there co-op modes?
25  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Annoying Moments in otherwise Great Games on: March 21, 2013, 09:42:33 AM
There's a moment in Sword Of Vermillion for the Sega Genesis where you enter a town... I can't remember what happens, but you're given a choice of something or other and depending on which way you answer, you can lose all your equipment. It's over halfway through the game and I picked that answer and was stripped of everything, so I had to grind outside of town to get money to buy more equipment. I was mad, bro. lol
26  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: Any PS Vita online co-op RPG's coming? on: March 20, 2013, 12:36:16 PM
Ragnarok Oddysey from what I can tell is like PSO set in medieval times.

My buddy got that and is playing through it. According to him it's hard as hell. I like a challenge, but I'm not into brutally hard games anymore. Adam Sessler just did a Sessler's Something on game difficulty in some games and I totally agree with him on that.

Wonder if there will be a monthly charge for it? I don't think the original had a monthly charge, did it?

29  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Any PS Vita online co-op RPG's coming? on: March 18, 2013, 11:16:37 PM
A friend and I are currently playing through Dungeon hunter: Alliance and having a blast with it. Yeah, it offers NOTHING innovative, but it is fun online. The Vita's party chat app is amazingly easy to use with games. makes you wonder why something similar wasn't done with the PS3. Anyway, I know Dragon's Crown is coming, and Soul Sacrifice. What we're looking for is a good 2 player online RPG where you get to play the whole campaign with another person. Not one that throws in lame online co-op extras. Also need one that doesn't punish you with abnormally hard enemies if you're only playing with 2 people and not 4. Are either of these games like that or are there any others ones already out or coming soon? Ruin was the first game that piqued my interest in a Vita, but apparently that isn't coming out in the U.S. Even good online-multiplayer co-op RPG's for the PS3 and 360 have dwindled to nothing. Ah well, the new Dead Island comes out in a month.
