1  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Which "Tales of" games have you played more than once? on: September 20, 2015, 07:47:54 PM
Abyss.  Start the second play-through immediately.

Still think it's the best entry in the series.

Tales is such a strong series and I agree

Abyss had a deep solid plot with good characters and I loved the pacing. it was a grand adventure and a fun one at that. felt the first 6 hours were pretty slow but other than that it was the best tales I have played.

mytop 3 tales are

FFXII gameplay BLEW

I still need to open graces but felt Abyss had the best story out of all them. And It was longer than I expected, did no sidequests and took me 60hours!!

Solid game, Story gets better and better in Abyss.

Vesperia might be a slight edge over abyss gameplay wise, but the story is pretty good. the 3rd part is the weakest, its still solid, just felt like 5 hours of going around chasing the end game boss knowing quite well who the end boss is.

thanks for the replies guys.

seems like DDS it is then. I l have to pick them up then. I know SMT are usually dungeon crawly, but do nejoy story and since DDS is more story/cutscene weighted than Noctourne, I ll opt for DDS.

Edit* oh and I was about to buy the deluxe box set thinking it was 1+2 but it was only 1 with extra stuff. I would be in for a diosspointments. Looks like I have to get each spereately or around 40$ total

lots of good replies. I thought deluxe box set was both games in one but its only the first game.

originally I was going to get noctourne , then found out that DDS has more of a "regular" JRPG progression, similar of that like Persona 2 and that DDS has more "story" and Diologue than Noctourne. that why I made the U-Turn to get DDS

Euris, I would rather have the game with more "meat"and dialogue.

also I think I know how Noctourne works, but levellin gup wise, how is it in DDS

still not sure which to buy, and seems like DDS 1+2 will be 40$ combined which isnt too bad I guess

so then DDS would be more my style since I prefer atleast some plot/diologue into games??

Atleast thats what ive read. DDS is far more plot/story  driven than SMT Noct

No, but the final dungeon is an massive tower. Massive by video game standards.

ahh okay thanks. heard is faar more plot driven and more diologue than Noctourne

is the box set both games in one??
8  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Megami Tensei Topic on: July 14, 2012, 11:34:02 PM
actually maybe DDS might be more my style.

but are you traveling through a huge tower the whole game??

Took a break off P 2 because I got fed up with needing the EXACT persona for JUST that BOSS fight. I didnt like how grindy and how many dungeons there were in the game.

but my main issue is if you dont have THE RIGHT persona for a boss battle or any boss battle for that matter. you will get wiped. soo ******. but I loved Persona 2 Story.

How hard is SMT Noctourne? Is the story as good as everyone says?

how much o f a dungeon crawly type of game is this? I feel that a guide is crucial since hte boss fights are supposedly hard as hell

is the plot progression kinda the same?

12  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tetsuya Nomura hints at possible sequel to The World Ends With You on: April 23, 2012, 01:07:03 PM
Nomura is backlogged. He prolly is working on 3 projects with another 3 that he has yet to start. last time I checked. He is now "the guy" up at SE. For better or worse...

Loved Working Designs and teir bonus content. I loved their the making CDs

but If they are planning to create that stuff again. it really isnt worth it if they will jack up the price as they did with the others

Sonys first attempt at an JRPG was rather a successful one. Not sure why it took 3 years though.

The game was good. but nothing spectacular. LoD II might be something sony should've looked into a couple years ago.

Even if their 100 man crew all disbanded, the game didnt offer anything that would be depleted with someone from the "outside" coming in. Battle system just needed touched up and it didnt have to be a sequel so the story can have no tie ins
15  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Re: DC Universe is neat. on: April 12, 2012, 12:39:21 PM
DC is a fun game, and its gameplay is fast and exciting.

However it prolly still lacks content. I have no clue what endgame is like. I dont even think there is an endgame
