April 16. I still had the receipt. Fun game, got burnt out on it pretty quick though. But for my first buy on 3ds, it was a good one.

I've been a big fan of South Party since I was 8, so this is a no brainer for me. Really excited for it.

I learned who the mastermind three hours before the game happened to tell me. I still quite enjoyed those three hours.

So I beat the story. Now I can run through school mode like fifty times and get the platinum. Overall I enjoyed it, probably about as much as I did VLR. Except I liked the ending of this one much more. While it kind of left you hanging, it still fit as a conclusion, with the themes of hope and whatnot. Can't wait till Fall.

I got to Deadly Life on the second chapter, and I freaking love this game. I don't agree with you on the blood thing though Zeron. The game isn't scary no, but the blood never made it less scary, because I never found the game scary at all. For me the blood color seemed to fit the overall sort of Popart style the game had going on.

And while this game may have been trying to be scary, it wasn't, but it hasn't affected my gameplay. I still do get a large sense of dread whenever that music starts playing, and you realize someone is probably going to end up dead soon.

Also Danganronpa 2: Goodbye Despair announced. YAY! I wish they kept super in the title though.

I don't. This is. What the. GRRRRRRRRRRRR. I would be 100% less mad if the last one didn't end on a cliffhanger. This is why people need to stop making the second game in the series setup for the next game in the series. I love VLR to death, but damn.

Ugh, this series started out so great with its RTS roots, now with the latest expansion they've pretty much ruined it. Do not play this game. Hell, they are coming out with a duck expansion next year called Mists of Duckaria. Totally going to blow.

I ended up buying this because Gamestop had one copy of the Silver Anniversary Edition left. Really enjoying it. The combat is fast and fun, and the concept of completing the map makes the game a bit addictive. The game actually reminds me a bit of Etrian Odyssey. Going deeper and deeper into the dungeon little by little, or in this game a lot by a lot. It is a shame the plot is kind of barebones so far. Otherwise I've really been enjoying it.

I agree that by the end of Ys, and a fair bit before that, the combat became completely useless. Once I got to level 10, there was no more point for me to fight enemies, and I just wormed my way through them. Dark Fact is seriously an excellent boss though, hard as nails, yet epic at the same time.

Ys 2 the leveling thing seems like a non-issue now. 55 levels, magic, and tougher enemies seems like it will keep me invested for the longer runtime.

Yeah I'm playing Chronicles. I had beaten him before I posted. He was just a giant asshole. On to Ys 2! Really surprised how much I liked the game. I used a PS4 controller, and the bump system just clicks when your using a analog stick instead of a keyboard.

So I saw this topic pop up, and the Ys series has been on my radar since IV was announced for localization. So I bought the first one. Try it out. Six hours later I emerge with one thought. F*ck Dark Fact.

At least they aren't letting the milking of Persona 4 hold back a new Persona. I've been waiting for this for awhile. It looks like I'm gonna keep on waiting too. PS3...grumblegrumble.

TBH, the differences aren't THAT huge. Your going to get the same game story and experience from either side, just go with what you'd rather play as. And in any case, the anime is never a replacement for the video game.

So far I've logged about 61 hours, and am kind of on the fence whether I should try and platinum this game for my first ever, or move on to my back log, or start playing P3.

How much of a change is it going from P4 to P3? The only series I've successfuly played in backwards succession is Suikoden, everything else just felt too dated.

What kind of time investment is P3? About the same length?

Though I have yet to see the ending, this game...just wow. Not sure how I missed it in it's PS2 incarnation.

Unless you have very good resolve, getting the plat on this one is difficult. Really hard. Not because of the difficulty of the game, not because you need to max all the social links, not because after playing this three times I got really bored of it, NO. The challenging part...Hardcore...Rise...Fan...This trophy keeps me up at night.

Also P3. I much prefer P3 to P4, but its personal preference, and many disagree. My main point of the betterness within this beast is the story. Much closer to its Megaten roots then P4. It starts off slow, but it gets REALLY good.

If the AI fighting thing is too much, then get P3 Portable. I prefer FES though.

Am I the only one who still thinks of Indiana Jones when I hear fedora?

Anyway. Just got done with the second Gym. The gyms are a lot more creative this time around. They are straightforward so far, but they each have more of a cool asthetic too it.

I'm also regretting grabbing Fennekin. I love it, its just that I should have picked a grass type for the first one, seeing as I can get a free fire type from that mystery gift, and then a water type later on. Really enjoying the game though. I do not like the huge time gap between gym 1 and 2 though. Gym battles are always the progression chart for me, and if I don't fight one in a long time, I don't feel like I'm making any progress. Anyone else feel that?
