31  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Surprise! Drakengard 3 (aka; how to damn "nier" lose your shit about old title) on: May 26, 2014, 08:56:30 PM
Tried this game for a bit today, got up to Chapter 2 Verse 3, and my GOD, this game is repetitive. I wanna stick with it because the dialogue is hilarious and the characters are insane. I also tried Nier for a bit too, got up to right after my first meeting with Kaine, and the combat is just boring so far. I'll stick with that one too, but then again I have nothing to lose since I didn't pay for the games.

Definitely the Kingdom Hearts games. I had to explain to my parents why "Under the Sea" from the first game (part of the HD 1.5 Remix) was coming from my room.

You never, ever, ever need to be ashamed for liking Kingdom Hearts. Ever. EVER. Unless its Coded.

I am ashamed to say that I absolutely adored Hyperdimension Neptunia. Something about it just charmed from the get go.

This is actually the first Pokemon remake that I can be nostalgic for. The two games that I played the crap out of was FireRed and Sapphire, so HELL YES!

I think I'm just going to drop Witcher 2 because I just don't care at this point. I hit chapter 1, started some earl quests and I realized I just don't give an f about the game.

That game is so great though, I'd stick with it if I were you. Chapter 1 is pretty exhausting, but once you get to the end of it, the game really picks up. I can't say the sidequests were ever fun, but the story in the game is really great.

I bought Kingdom Hearts HD, and after much raging, and 22 hours of gameplay, I FINALLY BEAT THIS GAME. It only took me like 12 years. Childhood=won.
In all reality though, this game hasn't aged all that well, mainly the combat. It is however much more rewarding than Kingdom Hearts 2, since that one I remember being piss easy. I have so many fond memories of copying my brothers save religiously to get to the end, and still not beating it. Well gosh darned it I have won. Now when does 2.5 HD come out?

I just got the game on PS3, upgrading to PS4 now. Saved myself 15 dollars that way! I really enjoyed what I played on PS3, and if I get to terribly sick of the controller I can just use Mouse and Keyboard. Its a shame my PC sucks so bad though. I'm a level 20 gladiator. So far the game is excellent though!

Yeah, Genocider Jill was the point I stopped trying to make sense of the story and just decided to go along with the ride. Seriously though, she is brilliant.
38  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Retrospective on: April 05, 2014, 07:51:32 AM
I freaking love this game and still hold it as the best in the series. The guilds were top notch, there were sidequests everywhere, secrets to find, really the series at its peak. Aside from a few gameplay improvements in Skyrim, it wasn't really that great in my eyes. Dragons got old quick, the guilds were disappointing at best, and there were few memorable quests. That only elevates Oblivion in my eyes.
39  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: The Atelier Series on: March 28, 2014, 07:30:50 AM
I'm going to put it on the back burner for a bit, and wait till I finish a couple other games like Stick of Truth and Escha and Logy. This one requires to much thought for my brain with so many other games going on right now.

So I never got to finish Escha and Logy, which I will remedy this weekend, because of being away from my PS3. So, I impulse bought Totori Plus on my Vita.So far it is like a slap to the face telling me to wake up. There isn't any of that structure from Escha and Logy, now I'm my own boss. I don't know quite how I feel about that though. The game just kind of throws you in there. I don't know if I'm doing anything right or not. It is kind of freeing and terrifying at the same time.
41  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 on: March 26, 2014, 05:44:52 PM
I tried really hard to like Hyperdimension Neptunia, but it had a very cheap feel. The battles took way to long to load, took way to long to fight, and took way to long to get me back to the  exploration. It got really annoying when i was trying to do a couple of them time trials. I did however enjoy the battle system, I thought it had a good concept. My main problem with it was getting buried in the menus, and the fact that again, it took way to long to do simple stuff.
42  Media / General Games / Re: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on: March 19, 2014, 07:47:50 AM
59:56. I beat the game. 50.48 I beat the game again on hard mode. Also, on hard mode I managed to take out over 30 guards by turtling in and out of cover. After the main mission, I thought I was about to get another one, what with the content of the cutscene, but nope. I did think the gameplay was fantastic, aside from the fact that it was to easy to go through guns blazing if you have any sort of skill at shooters.

I'm eager to explore more of the base now, but I really hope these shooter aspects disappear by the Phantom Pain.
43  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Atelier Project 16 Announced on: March 16, 2014, 10:11:38 PM
Playing Escha and Logy, I haven't really ever been confused though. I know that a couple of the characters are from Ayesha though, it doesn't hurt the story by any means. It just makes me want to pickup Atelier Ayesha to see what I am missing.
44  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Atelier Project 16 Announced on: March 16, 2014, 11:29:58 AM
I was surprised no one was talking about Escha and Logy, seeing as it just came out like 6 days ago. I happened to pick it up, and as my first Atelier game, I'm going to say it was money well spent. Words can not describe how much I freaking love this game right now. Synthesizing is buckets of fun, and the character models are just fantastic. Hopefully the next one hops to PS4 though. Doubt it seeing as its the final entry in the Dusk trilogy.

Also any word on if Ayesha Plus is heading to America?
45  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD Remaster, Listen to his story again... on: March 13, 2014, 04:56:03 PM
Bad news about the Vita version, only FFX is on the cartridge, so you have to download FFX-2 separately. I really would have liked to have gotten it on my Vita, but the fact is that I still just have a 4 gb harddrive, and I don't feel like upgrading because they couldn't spend the money on an extra cartridge. PS3 version it is then, whenever I feel like I need to actually play Final Fantasy X. Spoony's videos kind of turned me off of the game.
