I could withstand Lightning in an action game but Hopes constant precense will be insuferable.

put simply i like characters that go against typical gender roles. or at least the ones i grew up with. if she fought with a staff and -aga nukes i would have much less interest in her. along those lines i might of liked hope if he wasnt such a douchebag for most of the game.

what you really mean to say is that you want to have sex with lightning

because you are sexually attracted to her

i have seen your sig and avatar combinations and i know you are into that pervy stuff

it is okay you can admit it to me we all know what is going on

for example i have henry cavill as my avatar because he is hot as fuck and even though immortals sucked balls i would totes have sex with him

There is a hentai game (I play hentai games, any problem?) where i really liked to play with Lightning, she really is a bitch after all.
18  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Agarest Wars 2..A thread about the game and NOT the fanservice this time.... on: September 04, 2012, 12:44:11 AM
And I could say that you're judging the book by its cover.  Yes it's Idea Factory and yes it has fanservice, but the game is surprisingly good in spite of it and I rather liked the narrative.  I've played a lot of RPGs, and Agarest 2 actually felt kinda fresh and sexy.  Not an "ugh, THIS again?!?!?!"

Give it a rental on GameFly or something and try it for yourself.  You might be as surprised as I was.  Take away the fanservice (which you do have to hunt for, it's not all gimme) and there is a solid game there.

Doesnt that had to do with the date sim elements? From what i had read that is important to go trough the game (As AT2 is necessary for the reyvatiels to take a bath to level up and advance the game) for that generation thing.

The game looks quite generic appart from the generation thing, and having played Ar tonelico 2 i can say that fanservice wont motivate me at all to purchase it.

Tried the original Hack but only the first disc, if at least the dungeons werent boring as hell i might had given it a chance to disc2 but nah its a patethic series that divides the plot on 4 dics wich could eaily fit on just 1 and thinking to pass those boring dungeons again on the 3 disc way it drives me nuts.
21  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Class of Heroes 2(PSP): English screens on: August 26, 2012, 11:34:20 PM
Im more interested in CoH: Crono Academy so if supporting this game increase the chance of that one coming i might support this.

I hope that Vic open the gaijinworks forum soon.

Wait, people thought this game was high caliber?  It's from Imageepoch.

This could have been their first high tittle.

Think of Ninja Theory, before that name they were known as "Just add monsters" and made the horrible XBOX game "Kung Fu Chaos" then their next project would be my favorite PS3 game so far Heavenly Swordand now they are doing the DMC game. my point is that this game could be the developers first hit tittle.

Didnt the Luminous Arc games were quite good? (I remember how Nintendo Power praised it, as biased as they are)

Suddenly i feel dirty for voicing my interest in this game, localization in danger too.
Agreed. I thought this game was of higher caliber than resorting to that.

Maybe we deluded ourselves, its supposed to be anime-ish so we should have spected that.

Pretty bold coming from the writer of a site called "Fabula Nova Crystalis".  The comments are the best part.
But yeah, FF13-3 (or FF13-2-2 as I like to call it) sounds like such a waste of company resources with future projects sitting on the table.  What worries me is if the author, Erren[?], is right, FF13-2-2 will delay the release of Versus, KH3, FFX HD, or just moving on with FF15 (new cast and world please, most of the 13 cast is largely unlikeable).  I'm sure it's different teams working on them, but I doubt they'd be released close to each other.

I wont mind that they used the same assets as long as something new can come up with it P3 and P4 are fine examples.

I bet the prince will have its own gameplay section or maybe Toki follow his lead (Vya Drake maybe?)
27  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Squeenix teases 13-3? on: August 23, 2012, 12:02:23 PM
I'll say this as somebody who's sat through both games.

At least FFXIII-2 could be considered a game, if a bland one, rather than a tech demo like its predecessor was.

I almost agree with this.  I liked FF13 for a while.  But after you realize ALL there is to do is fight, then yeah, I sympathize with the "tech demo" comment.

I dunno... maybe it's just the battle system that people can't love.  Turn-based that moves with such a ridiculous speed that an "auto battle" option is necessary?  FFX had quick turn-based, KH does quick RPG-like gameplay, Star Ocean and Tales have perfected real-time RPGs.

Maybe the formula is just wrong?

Its totally wrong, a thing i like of turn based gameplay is that you can take your time admiring enemies, characters, scenary and is you who set the pace of the battle not the game like with most action based rpgs and thats why i dont into the Tales games (And its annoying characters).

FFXIII completely obliterate the tradition of good turn based gameplay and is another plus to hate it. I dont know why people think that action based gameplay is a natural evolution of the genre.
28  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Fire Emblem entry on: August 23, 2012, 11:40:44 AM
actually my heather turned out amazing but she might of been str blessed. i also used illyana since she had a bond support with mia  that carried over from PoR as did callil/nephenee

Heather is the best thief in terms of availability on paper, makes great use of her Pass skill, and isn't hamstrung by a forced promotion shortly after passing a 'Jeigan' grace period like a certain other rogue but Volke is statically the best of the three 'thieves' and even then the both of them are competing for one of the coveted endgame roster seats along with the vast majority of your A-Team and favorites whereas the other guy is guaranteed a free ride to endgame.

Illyana on the other hand suffers from a low Spd cap even for her class (she can't even make the magic number of 34), not to mention that she specializes in the worst magic type in the game (all it has is a miniscule chance to crit, better weight only in comparison to fucking Dark magic (usually the heaviest shit in any given FE game, nevermind how much of a non-factor Dark magic is in FE10), and Dragon Knight/Laguz effectiveness and due to the way that effective damage calculates and the gimpiness of the magic's damage output it's not even worth the trouble). You'd be better off giving her a ton of Arms Scrolls to get her to use the SS ranked Fire tome for the extra +3 Spd rather than sticking with Thunder magic (or better yet, bring a mage who can actually use Fire magic well to begin with (not like the game doesn't throw you a couple of those for end game)).

MU can pair with something like 9-10 characters (heterosexual relationships only, so something like 5 for each sex) and can give birth / father a child.

EDIT: oh wow I'm totally wrong.  After doing some research, apparently My Unit can marry ANY CHARACTER in the game, including the Lord.  Basically, MU is a second main character that can marry / support anyone.  Heterosexual only.  I shouldn't go running my mouth like that.

...Honestly, I'd be more interested in Kakusei if it was on something besides the 3DS, but I'm a 3DS disdainer so there ya go.  I'm currently (finally) starting Shadow Dragon and will probably fire up Path of Radiance later this year.  It's been too long since I've had a Fire Emblem kick.

MUSY GET GAME NOW (3DS SUDDENLY PICKED UP INTEREST)

Nevermind that, both your MU and his/her kid(s) will have access to every non-personal, opposite gender exclusive class in the game. In addition to this whatever inheritable personal class the MU's mate has will also pass down to the kid(s) (for reference: the inheritable personal classes are Villager (males only), Taguel (think Laguz), and Manakete (females only)). What the Male MU (or Female MU if she sticks to Krom) can do with pairing with one of the potential mothers is passing down his access to every basic class to both kids. Alternatively, your MU can choose to pair with one of the kids instead leading to a 3rd generation kid with the highest potential stat cap modifiers possible (for your side) depending on who the kid's parents are and what stats your MU favored and took a hit in (netting you upwards to a potential +11 in a particular stat cap increase).

Though I should note that the MU cannot pair with a Spotpass/DLC character nor can the MU pass down any DLC classes/skills.

Oh, by the way, one other thing that parents can pass down to their kid is one of their acquired skills allowing their kid up to 2 skills not gotten via leveling in the appropriate class. The only exceptions to this is the above DLC exception and that Krom will only pass down Royal Weapon to any son of his and Aether to any daughter regardless of whether he knows them or not or whether he's designated them or not. Otherwise any other skill is fair game including Special Dance from Olivia (which is worthless due to Dancer being a non inheritable personal class), Good Growths from Donny (which is awesome for everybody, especially the girls since they cannot inherit the Villager class but get the much more useful Pegasus Knight from him instead), Secluded Lady from any 1st gen female with access to the Troubadour class (surprisingly not useless to any son that might inherit this skill), Dark Blessing and Conqueror (both of which are from post game characters who will only pair with the MU), and Rainbow Cry from your MU (which grants a +2 stat bonus to every stat save Move (which only gets a +1) to everyone within a 4 tile radius for a turn (and Cry bonuses stack with each other (although not from the same Cry))).

The tl;dr is that the MU is a wild card that has reasons to consider every major option available to him/her (i.e. breed with child bearing parent, breed with child, or breed with an otherwise unbreedable character).

Not sure i understand most of this but it really picked up my interest

i joked on gamefaqs that it would be a rebranded versus with lightning as the main character. that being said i recently got around to playing FFXIII and i dont fully understand the hate. areclyte steppe blew me away. and eden gave me flashbacks of lunar cry in FF VIII.

Same here. I've been enjoying my 2nd playthrough of XIII a lot lately, and I think I'm beginning to understand how FFVIII fans feel having a bunch of people hating on a game you enjoy. :p

The FF name is stained beyond cleaning.

FF never really had an identity to protect, it never had one. Besides, what Final Fantasy is about changes with either each game or generation.

Im a FFVIII fan (FF5 and FFVIII, these two very underrated games are my favorite) and its a heck of a game and this one  i dont get the hate while FFXIII i completely understand.

I have enjoyed all FF games (Numbered except XI and XIII) even the allegedly worst FF being 2 i finished on the PS1 and FFXIII is just too horrendous, the gameplay is just there because its a game otherwise would be a lame sci-fi book.

Like 6 years ago i beat the original FFIII (Nes graphics english patch) and it was a great experience and FFXIII on the other hand with its jaw breaking graphics didnt motivated me to finish i got Fang and later i dropped the game entirely.

FF games had a reputation so high that you just needed to purchase the game witouth any doubts and nw you must read reviews and carefully research to know if its the game for you, FF now is just a name nothing more.
