FE11 (I'm referring to the 3DS one, yo!) not only allows you to create your own character but s/he comes in with the Strategist class which is exclusive to MU and his/her kid Mark. Additionally when picking out your MU's appearance you can choose to keep your MU mute. Also, I should clarify that this MU is playable on the field rather than just showing up at cutscenes like FE7's Mark did (not to say that your MU won't).

And then there's FEDS2 (the DS remake of FE3 Book2 and the DS game that wasn't released outside of Japan) which also has the option of creating a MU (My Unit) that, while not a tactician, can also be similarly defined by the player and with further options that are unlocked later on throughout the game (though I don't think being mute is one of them). It's a crying shame that this game didn't get released outside of Japan.

Does MU has a pairing posibility or MU is unexistant (Sorry if i made that word) on the game plot?
32  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Anime Style RPG on: August 22, 2012, 09:11:17 PM

1- Well drawn anime style chars.
2- Graphics is like cell-shaded.
3- Lots of running around talking to ppl (wich ususally happens at the school or campus).
4- J-POP music.

To give you an example of what I am looking for:
1- Persona series.

Anything else out there on PSP? (could also check DS titles).

1) they are very well drawn they have almost full body portraits and depending on their mood their portrait reflect it.
2) Nope
3) Like in most rpgs you can talk to people in towns (even tough is a srpg)
4) Nope.

Growlanser WoT share this similarities with the persona sries:

-You can name the silent protagonist MC.
- You can hook up with npc and pc females.
-Lots of choices that raises or lower the relationships
- Events in wich you can date said females (Think of it like the Social links)
- Hard (Trademark of most ATLUS games)

Give it a shot.

If they want to die then be my guest, there are better rpgs out there than the FF series and so if they die i couldnt careless.

Lightning could fit an action game easily because in action games the personality of the MC is not as important as its actions (ie kickassering) and Lightning coul hide her COMPLETE lack of personality.

The FF name is stained beyond cleaning.

I have only nearly ended both FE (Eliwood as MC) and sacred stones and FE is my favorite because you take the role of the tactician and i love silent protagonist or faceless ones, i was sad that no othe FE use it.

I wanted to try FE6 (Roy as MC) but i didnt liked that Spoiler:

Hector and Eliwood died, stopped playing after they died because i was so sad.
35  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Tokitowa - Time and Eternity (third person 2D/3D RPG, imageepoch, PS3) announced on: August 16, 2012, 05:47:51 AM
Im very hyped for this one, regarding the harem in its initial days it was a feature:

"You can CHEAT on your wife" so my harem hopes are still up, you might say that the trailers doesnt point it out but the same as the prince role in the game isnt clear as of yet but he is the hero nevertheless so summary this game could have many things that we dont know yet.

Are "nominations" like these that enables a company to keep rehashing games, a shame really only Big names get mentions as GotM or GoTY.

Very close doesnt matter really and further ensure me that brand rcognition gave KH the upper hand.

Usually those very big titles are well made, and probably the only area KH games (ones they put serious effort into) are generally agreed upon to be good at is gameplay... which can be enough. Plus I didn't elaborate enough on how an extra two weeks could've flipped things around: that'd have given Growlanser time for word of mouth to spread, and for those that got the game to sink enough time to form a real opinion. As is only importers and those with review copies could get that kind of time (obviously), and Growlanser definitely doesn't start fast, it's pacing is actually kind of bad at first though this gets better.

KH 1 and 2 had slower starts than WoT (Not sure in this KH case tough)

Tales of Legendia is great as my first Tales game and liked it very much however after that the other tales games are too much to bear

Opposite for me. I almost dropped the series entirely because Legendia was so terrible. It half convinced me that perhaps the series was NEVER good and that maybe I was stupid for enjoying it in the first place or that at the very least if it was good at one point it had jumped the shark with Legendia. And I didn't buy abyss with it came out. It was only after a few months because people here had good things to say about it that I reluctantly picked it up. And I ended up loving it.

But, opinions. And being the first you played means something. You probably had one Tales game in you and Legendia happened to be it.

And while I didn't let him get to me I can understand Luke hate. Him being a spoiled little bitch was the point, but he was still a spoiled little bitch.

Im playing TotW RM and Luke is there, almost stop playing the game, luckily he doesnt appear too oftem, im sorry for Tear that has to deal with his crap.

Only finished Tales of Legendia, Luke was not worth to play so i hate Abbys to death.

Tales of Legendia is great as my first Tales game and liked it very much however after that the other tales games are too much to bear, specialy Abbys with its cliched story and characters.

Clhoe Valens the best female of this series.

As usual whenever Growlanser 5 gets brought up I'm gonna say that it is horribly underrated and I think it's actually better than 2 or 3.  The seamless enemy encounter system is amazing (I love how you can just run through anything you don't wanna waste time with) and I like how you can control the main character's movements realtime during battles (but if you don't want to you don't have to!).  I also think the story is very strong in 5.  The dynamic with the various nations trying to accomplish their own goals under the threat of the Admonisher is really well done.

I loved HoW too is WAY better than Growlanser 2 at least, i liked the Story a lot it really was great and allowed for a great first time experience as was my first Growlanser game, i fell in love instantly i like very much the Seldous Role is very good, the other Roles were good as well. Its terribly underrated because of its graphics and the changed gameplay (Altought the only difference i saw was that you control the MC everything else was the same) the skill tree is very good, it reminds me of FF8 when it came to customization and complexity.

In all this game is great and its worthy of the Growlanser name.

There was also Growlanser: Heritage of War (known as Growlanser V: Generations in Japan, just to add to the confusion), which is supposed to be the worst in the series, and the only one Europe got. Publishers seem to like to do that, like us only getting Xenosaga Episode II.

Aside from the skill-plate system (which wasn't terrible.... but it was not exactly great either...) and being a wee-bit on the easy side for the franchise IMO, I love Generations... The character design really appealed to me in that title... Rufus and Melvina were freakin' waaay cool... Loved the MC's appearance... even the David Copperfield-looking Randall was alright by me.... Now Pirate-Knight Krious was a different story entirely.... way to take a white-haired sword wielding arch-type and completely remove any "bad-ass" from it at all..... but I can forgive...

I believe Growlanser 6 is a direct sequal to 5.... sporting the same battle system as well... what I would do to see that localized some day..

Melvina is my favorite female in the series after GL3 Monica, Fanille was the "WTF" character for me with her strange outfit.

Growlanser 6 is a direct sequel and Hashen is playable (You can even change his name), actually HoW uses the same gameplay as Growlanser 6 as the original JP version had a tuned down gameplay, i enjoyed it a lot so it would be great if it gets localized.

While Growlanser wasn't a victim of this (it dressed its characters like hookers and pimps for a while now)

Seems more like a CareerSoft problem. It was there to an extent in Langrisser, and even without that name and a new character designer they have anti-grav breasts in Devil Survivor.

Langrisser was worst in that regard, DS breasts was too much even for a oppai lover like me.

You should really chill out man.  It's not he end of the world that you couldn't hype the game here a week ago.

I really want WoT to succeed, im okay now a new and fresh star.

I dont care if i get banned my interest in this forum died a week ago so im okay with it.

1. The idea you needed to be approved immediately, besides being hilarious, is a poor indicator for how much you really cared to post on these forums.

2. Giving a bit of wait time lets me better filter out spammers from legitimate posters as the spammers (or simply inert) will show up around the web in searches.

3. Legitimate complaint or not, you're definitely not going to be generating good will by harping on this and derailing a topic unrelated to moderation. That's what'll get you banned, not simply accusing me or any of the others of being lazy.

The game's going to be out next week, presumably that's when the topic will truly take off. You'll have a lot more to talk about when you have the game in question.

okay, by the way i already own the game, japanese of course and my objective is hype the game and i needed to put the videos one week ago to make awareness and now to 6 days before release seems too late, i really wanted to post here the issue here is that by experience Growlanser topics take too long to get new posts and so i wanted to join right away to get the best discussion as possible while the game can still benefit from the hype because once the game comes out it would not benefit from the hype.

Im okay with one or two days of aproval but one week not so much.

Hello im the biggest Growlanser fan in America latina, damm it took a week to my account to be activated the Admin here is sure Lazy.

you only had to wait a week? consider yourself lucky, i waited a lot longer than that. on the brightside the dipshits and spammers are banninated fairly quickly.

Again the one who aproves the acounts is SUPER-LAZY.

My NeoGAF approval took a year. And, uh, calling the staff of a site lazy is never a bright move.

I wanted to join a week ago when the topic was on fire, and now that is aproved the fire has estinguished and so im mad, again my interest in this site has died thanks for the long wait and so if im banned i couldnt careless im just curious on how much time i will be here until im banned.

This topic was never really 'on fire'...

It was certainly more "lively" one week ago.
