Well I think there's so much competition and options for viewers on tv that they've realized that aiming for the largest possible audience won't really help them like it does for game or movie makers. As a result they might be more willing to try new stuff or go for that niche audience.
As opposed to before when TV actors were seen as somewhat lesser than their movie counterparts, we got a lotta big names moving back to TV. Also with the crazy saturation of superhero movies and series of movies, signing up for one of those series is a big commitment. Hell,Hugh Jackman has been Wolverine for the past 15 years, that's crazy.

TLDR, we may be heading for a new tv golden age.

there's also a yomi tournament but I'm not a big fan of sirlins stuff. There's a bunch of new sf 5 info comin out right now and I'll post something once the presentation finishes. Apparently all post release content street fighter 5 will be earnable in game without having to pay for it, games lookin up. The evo hype will probably make me preorder it. CVS 2 tournament tonight, a blast from the past.

welp, borderlands handsome collection ps store flash sale for 30 bucks, and I caved. Now I just need to find people to play with. Also watching evo will probably make me hype enough to preorder street fighter 5 to get into the beta too. I need to up my willpower.

seems every company chipping in for prize pools this year, if you're good at killer instinct, now is the time to cash in. Also I'd expect we'll get at least one more SF 5 character announcement at evo. Cannot wait for the beta. In rpg related news, the next lab zero game will be an rpg. Curious how that'll turn out since I think skullgirls' art was the best thing about it.

It's nearing that time of the year again with the biggest fighting game tournament on the planet only a few days away. If people are in need of the schedule or which twitch channels the streams are on, acekingoffsuit made a handy chart here . It's kinda insane there are so many games this year evo needs 7 twitch channels. If animu games are within your interests, there is a google doc showing all the anime airdashy game side tournament streams here . Also, Divekick side tournament on saturday, watch it.

^ I think you just don't remember it too good.

The battle system was probably the fastest of the PSX games.

out of 7 8 9 yeah it probably was the fastest but compared to 10, 12, 13 or most modern rpgs it's slow. Also, it needs to implement a bravely default style system to control random encounter rate, but that's how I feel about most rpgs with random encounters. Actually 8 might be faster since you're not actually supposed to kill enemies, just draw magic and run away.

They need to update the story, there's no way the original story will hold up today. That said, the story was competent/good up to the plot twist reveal about Clouds memory clusterF. It was a good plot twist, but everything after that kinda just went autopilot and lost my interest. Definitely need to update the looks of the Weapons and stuff too. The most fun things in that game were the side stuff like golden saucer, chocobo breeding/racing, snowboarding, sword fight on motorcycle. I totally forgot there was even that weird rts battle until just now, can make it way better with todays technology. Gotta speed up the combat and the summons, we don't need minute long animations.

well with the amount of work they're gonna haveta do, they might as well tweak the mechanics. I mean, they're gonna have to completely redo the assets from the ground up, don't think they can even keep the menus. Also brings up questions like are we still going to have the obscenely long summon and limit break animations? And finally, HD crossdressing, squat contests and slapfests on the junon cannnon incoming

listened to the latest ep, you guys seem to have forgotten to mention Geralts crippling osteoporosis in his legs. He takes a ridiculous amount of fall damage, what purpose does that even serve?Anyways, best sidequest in the game, FIND MY PAN.

not sure if this issue is just with ps4, but right now with the latest patch there is a bug where runes socketed in items just straight up disappear sometimes, not sure what causes it. Just happened to me so might wanna hold off on playing it for awhile, or just don't socket your runes on ps4 until they patch it.

there's some semi-frequent technical hiccups on ps4, it might just be me for expecting it to be as polished as dragon age inquisition though. Also the inventory managing can be quite clunky later, especially if you end up hoarding stuff fallout 3 style.
13  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Project X Zone 2: Electric Bugaloo on: May 10, 2015, 11:24:47 AM
The ace system in srw adds a bunch of flavor to the characters too and the original pxz lacks a lot of that as well. It's hard to explain, it just needs more polish and detail. But seeing as I don't think it's all that big a title it probably won't get that. Best AG conversation of srw z3 so far is the scene you get with AG when you get Shinji to an ace and they parody the congratulations, congratulations, congratulations scene of the anime.

it could potentially be a good game if they just made some of the systems more complex, any of them. The level up system, equip system and combo systems are just so basic. Playing SRW z3.2 right now and while the combat is fire emblem style and I find myself skipping animations more often than not, the distributing stat points to pilots and upgrading mech stats just add so much depth to the game. Maybe they could add an ace style system to the game, giving each character a unique bonus once they reach a certain amount of kills.

if you only kill the bosses you need to end the game for ng plus, the second run only takes like 2 or so hours. I just killed the chalice boss and just missing the ending trophies for platinum.
