Considered getting Wizardry for ps3 but didn't know how min-max it was, plus I just got x-com.

Did you BUY X-com? Because it's going to be free sometime this month (June) for PS+ members...just saying. Anyway, I'm about 3 hours into the game (busy week) and as this is my first 1st-person dungeon crawler, I can safely say this isn't really my cup of tea. I support the project simply because of the TLC that was being put into it. I'm definitely more of a traditional J/RPG guy...

For people who pre-ordered, the game is available to download (has been since about midnight :D) It's 221 MB and took less than 3 minutes to download and install. I have to work this morning so I won't get to play until tonight, gah..

Watched Attack on Titan episode 9 last night. Sh*t just got real! Major cliffhanger ending, so much so that waiting for the episodes to release each week is making me considering getting the manga volumes...

I'm amazed it's been 3 years already. When I think about it it sounds right. But it doesn't FEEL right. Maybe it's just because they only give you a little Who(6ish episodes) at a time.

Smith overcame the emo doctor label and ended up being pretty good. He easily had a few more seasons in him and it's a shame to see him leave.

I wonder why everyone is so quick to leave the show. One season and you're typecast regardless and I'm sure the money is good.
I think they leave after 3-4 years due to an increase in their popularity and demand. Once you land "the Doctor", 70+ million people soon learn your name, so naturally if you're even a remotely good actor, people are going to want you. I believe Matt Smith made it clear that he wants to break into Hollywood at this point in his career.

They confirmed him for Series 8, and than unconfirmed him. I'm guessing someone jumped the gun during negotiations. Whoever confirmed him are assholes. They gave me hope and took it away dang it!
I'm more frustrated with myself than anything else because I bought into those rumors from last week saying he was staying for series 8. At the same time, almost every rumor has had him pegged for leaving the show after the Christmas special. Makes me wonder if/when/who they will be filming the regeneration. Surly they haven't cast the 12th Doctor yet, thus they'll need Smith for some final shoots...

Regardless, Tennant and Smith have provided us with 8+ years of stellar Doctor Who moments and I'm looking forward to the new Doctor, whoever it may be.

since the board was restored, my own avatar doesn't load anymore. Can you see my avatar? Can you see your own avatar?

Try doing a Ctrl+F5 refresh and see if that restores it...?

Watched all 6 OVA episodes of Time of Eve today. Loved it! I came across the Kickstarter campaign and checked the show out on Crunchyroll. With how much funding they are getting I really hope that helps them bring us a sequel :D

I checked out Naru2u in Ottawa, ON Canada 3 years ago and it was...sad. It was small and I was expecting that, but it was inside the basement area of a Travellodge hotel, it wreaked of body odor, and was tiny, considering the price. I think it's grown slightly since then, but yeah, very disappointing. I'm quite happy with Anime North. The side is perfect for the Toronto Congress Centre, and they use the nearby hotels (literally across the street on three sides) for additional space for gaming, panels, and other activities.

I want to go to SDCC, but it sounds so...douche-y. And the tickets sell out quickly if I remember right. It almost sounds too big for its own good. I think I'd rather go to Anime Expo or Otakon.

I've been playing Diablo 3 again this week while they've been giving the 25% XP and magic find bonuses for its (gasp) first birthday.

I am still occasionally grumpy about the always online stuff, but out of principle rather than it interfering with my gameplay.  (When it does, it's because I have crappy internet at home, not because of anything on Blizzard's end.)  I do enjoy it, and Syn, it sounds like you and I play the game in the same way.  I remember that last fall, they released a trial version that lets you play through the first act free - it's definitely worth the download to try it out.

That said, I'd love to see an expansion.  That made a HUGE difference in D2.

Here's the crazy thing - when it comes out for PS3, I'll probably buy it.  My wife loved Diablo 2, and I really like the idea of being able to play together on the same screen.  Plus, we always liked the Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance (and similar) games, and I think the PS3 version will kind of feel like that.
I absolutely loved Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance. Many a night spent playing that with friends back in college :D I think I'll wait for it to go on sale. I'm frugal so I hardly ever pay full price for a game, especially with all of the negativity (not necessarily bad) surrounding the game. Honestly, had they just given D2 an HD-like makeover, I probably would have been sold :P

Anyone attend anime conventions? I ask because I'm going to Anime North in Toronto this weekend. It will be our 5th time going, though we skipped last year so I'm EXTREMELY excited to go this year. When we first started going about 6 years ago attendance was like 10-12k, and now it's ballooned to 20K+ and they have to cap weekend passes, crazy.

Personally, I like see the cosplayers, especially the ones that you can tell put a lot of effort into their outfit.

While not a game I'm personally interested, I'm always happy when projects that people want are funded. Woohoo!

Agreed. This was apparently on KickStarter over a year ago but had a ridiculous goal and pricing. Something like $500,000, and the lowest-priced version of the game was $59. I'm glad they rethought their approach and continued to go through with this. I believe they needed at least 2,500 people to pledge via poll, and they ended up getting that plus some, which led to the actual production of the physical copy. And honestly, for $37 for BOTH the physical and digital copy, I can't complain. Looking forward to playing this on my Vita in a couple of weeks.

"Safety Not Guaranteed". I was honestly expecting a mediocre indie film and came away extremely entertained. The ending was NOT what I was expecting, but in a good way. That's really all I can say without giving it away. Excellent movie, highly recommended if you have Netflix.

I was a casual D2 fan. I play through the game a few times, but never aspired to create "ultimate" builds or anything. I enjoyed the lore more than anything, but hearing about the always connected issues and such, is D3 worth it? Should I wait for it to go on sale for $20 or something? I also hear Torchlight 2 is better, but again, I enjoyed the lore in the Diablo series.

Having met the original goal of 2,500 physical copies sold, the digital release is coming June 4th, with the physical edition set to ship a few weeks later. Did anyone else order a copy? Has anyone played the Japanese version? I'm really looking forward to this game, especially after watching my wife play the Etrian Odyssey games on her 3DS.

Plus, considering Gaijinworks is essentially the now dissolved Working Design, I'm even more interested in this AND future projects :)
