I probably should have voted more than I did this year. I also kind of agree that MMOs should be confined to their own section of any awards setup--this is a good topic of discussion for future features which I'll definitely bring up if someone else doesn't beat me to it.

I also would have liked to see more "RPG RPGs" on the list but there wasn't a whole lot of strong candidates in that field last year, amongst other considerations.

I actually just bought it over the holidays and I'll attest to how great it is. Basically it's a fully realized Terraria with a lot more to do.

Also it's not even nearly finished. I've had a finger on the pulse of this game since it was first kickstarted and the devs are extremely cool guys and very responsive when it comes to bugs and ideas for new features.

Anybody know about Starbound? Well the game is great even though it's basically in Alpha. So I'm throwing in a Steam key for the winner of this week's quiz. We can just call it compensation for the holiday delays. ^__^

Approved a bunch of new forum users that appeared legit. Must remain vigilant for canned meat.

Also Merry Xmas peoples.

Thankies to PrismFlux for updating it. <3

He continues to be of more use to the site than I ever have been.

Haps thread was kyuusei. FFXIV thread was Tenchi-no-Ryu. Pretty sure it was unintentional both times.

My only real complaint about the game so far is that there isn't a DLC quest to find and ruthlessly murder the asshole that follows you around from town to town yelling and trying to badger you into buying the fresh mutton he's peddling. I would pay at least $40 for that DLC.

Speaking of the AI: why is it that nearly every jRPG out there has a boss that burrows and comes out doing major damage while the AI runs around like beheaded chickens?

I mean, you just need to add a condition to the AI: If nothing targetable on the battlefield -> block.

Those who fought the boss know which one I'm talking about and the AI keeps getting brutalized for about 200 damage a hit. Contrarily, since I block, I am taking less than 40 (hard guard is good)
I knew this would happen pretty quickly when I started that boss fight, and considering the general level of weakness of my party, I set my whole team's strategy to spread out with no linking (not using linked artes anyways,) aggroed the boss, and ran him away from the rest of my party every time he went to burrow. The party just attacked the minions while it was going on.

Being something of a hardcore difficulty type person myself. Here's what I've been doing:

1.) Hardest difficulty (obvious)
2.) No consumables (this is every game I play)
3.) Starting equipment for everyone
4.) No Link Artes

It's fairly challenging at times, especially the bosses. I've gotten game over once, and that was when I encountered the "weapon beast" in the old mines. But there's been some close calls.

Looks to be accidental. I dunno why that person would have locked it intentionally since their latest post in the thread did not indicate any sign of intending to do so.

Hey Monsoon, thanks for stepping up to do this. I'll be adding to the prize pool for this again, so let me know who wins the next one and they will receive a steam key to download Rogue Legacy. Pretty cool game IMO.

Yea that's artwork, but the in-game models look pretty much exactly the same. Ahh the beauty of cel-shading.
