2  The Rest / General Discussions / SONY BOSS promises great Games For TGS 2014 on: August 14, 2014, 06:49:04 AM
Shuhei Yoshida admits that the ps4 isn´t selling very well, like in the rest of the world. A big problem is certainly the lack of big Jrg´s on the system, what would push the sales in japan. So showing 1 or 2 great jrpg´s at this year for the ps4 is a must... let´s see if some of the late rumors are coming true...

3  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Unannounced ps4 jrpg coming soon?? on: July 03, 2014, 02:18:44 AM
At the business meeting at japan, sony presented a gameplay video of an rpg, where people was very impressed (and i think they are talking about an rpg, as they say it's not ff xv). So hope that tgs 2014 will come soon, or maybe we will here something before...

Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and Asia holds periodcal “SCE Business Meetings” in Japan to show upcoming games to its business partners, including retailers and shop owners. Yesterday the July 2014 edition was held, mostly focusing on titles that will be released in Japan in September, but there was more, as reported by Osho, who works at the game store PAO in Tokyo, and was present at the meeting.
This is pre-release information, so I can’t write anything about it. I don’t think it’ll make the fall, so we’ll have to wait a little bit longer than that.

But I’ve seen actual gameplay, and it is really just breathtaking. I saw less than 10 minutes of the game, but I really have to take my hat off to the studio for their amazing work. Oh by the way, this isn’t about Final Fantasy XV; I wonder when that one is going to be released…

But anyway, I am totally going to buy this!

8  The Rest / General Discussions / Level 5 wants to revive past titles on: June 04, 2014, 01:33:41 PM
Akihiro hino from level 5 talks about future plans, and it seems they want to bring back an old franchise to ps4, as white knight cronicles wasn't a big hit. If you liked dark cloud or rogue galaxy, be happy as it could return...

Recently, Level-5 has had smashing succes with the recent release of Ni No Kuni, a collaboration between animation studio Ghibli and videogame company Level-5.

Speaking to Akihiro Hino, CEO of Level-5, he said "There is strong evidence that is a request for a line of work like previous titles in our portofolio", as a petition on a fanmade Facebook page for Dark Cloud suggests. He continued that "The White Knight Chronicles-series did not do as well as we had planned and our recent succes with Ni No Kuni suggest we should move our next-generation games in that direction. We're not announcing a Ni No Kuni 2 as our collaboration ended with the release of the game but we're looking to revive past titles." It is true that White Knight Chronicles received a very average critical reception and the company recently announced that they are shutting down the online servers for White Knight Chronicles. While the blockbuster franchises like Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven will continue to remain on handheld devices, there could be a reinvigoration for console titles.

"Sony contacted Level-5 about a possible next-gen game," which is no surprise as Level-5 was one of the prominently listed publishers in in the Playstation 2013 Meeting.

13  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Wild Arms For PS4 still possible on: April 03, 2014, 07:25:55 AM
Seems sony didn't forget wild arms...would be nice to see a sepuel of this great rpg

The latest issue of Weekly Famitsu has been delivered to the Japanese newsstands, and it includes an interesting Q&A with Sony Computer Entertainment Producer Kentaro Motomura, who worked as a Producer on the Wild Arms franchise from the third game onwards and on other classics like Jeanne d’Arc and the recent Soul Sacrifice.
Talking about the Wild Arms series, that ranked second behind Final Fantasy in a poll on the magazine asking readers what series they’d like to see a sequel for, Motomura-san mentioned that he’d definitely like to explore the possibility of one day bringing the adventures of the “migratory birds” to PS4 and PS Vita, also asking readers to support the idea.
“Migratory birds,” or “Wataridori” is the original name of Wild Arms‘ adventurers.
Motomura-san also added that he can’t talk about his next game yet. All he can say is that it’s not finished.
Interestingly enough, Wild Arms has been recently brought up by Sony Japan with a series of crossover illustrations between PlayStation feline mascots Toro and Kuro, Wild Arms Alter Code F and Wild Arms XF, released to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of Dokodemo Issho and the 20th anniversary of PlayStation. You can see them in the gallery below, courtesy of the official Japanese Play Community.
