^ the "payoff" is learning how to deal with being forced to complete tasks you have little to no interest in.  Otherwise known as like 70% of "work".

^ my wife's mom is in an assisted living facility.  So I can at least commiserate a little on watching someone slowly fall apart.  You have all of my empathy Annubis.

^ Rogue Galaxy was great! And DQ VIII. In fact all 4 of L5's PS2 games were top notch. But has any other developer fallen much farther since?

^ It really depends on the labor laws in Virginia.  In Indiana, employers can get rid of you for any reason that isn't explicitly protected by law (i.e. racial discrimination) and just say that it "wasn't working out".  Hopefully the have something a little less draconian on the books.

I've pretty much made it a point to avoid pre-Awakening Fire Emblems, since they're essentially masturbatory aids for masochists.

We get it. You don't enjoy challenging games.

Obama passes stimulus act in 2010 that adds $831 billion to the national debt (and is an unequivocal success) = Stalinist nightmare.

Trump tries to railroad through 2017 tax reform that will add $1.5 trillion to the debt (and will INCREASE taxes on the lowest brackets and save his billionaire buddies a bundle) = genius man of the people.

go home GOP logic, you're drunk.

What is it about being on the phone that makes people completely forget about how loud they are being in relation to their surrounding?  Or maybe it has nothing to do with their surrounding and they are just always shouting into the phone??

Do you guys all shout into your phone every time you get a call?

Very perplexing.

maybe it's my fault for not being wary of Bamco ports, but the Last Recode refuses to play on my PC.  And searching through many other forums seems to reveal that I'm not alone.  I was really looking forward to it too.

Pro Tip: If you go to a "help" forum, just to say that the game is working perfectly on your rig, you. are. a. prick. Congratulations, you hero. You haven't had an issues. Now  keep your mouth shut and play the game.

An analogy that New World Order devotees like to use is how establishments like clubs, movie theaters, etc. have maximum occupancy limits.  If you exceed that limit, it's a fire hazard.  And the world has already exceeded maximum occupancy and we're seeing the imbalance of too many people and not enough resources.

I get why people might think that, but the assertion that we're "running out of space and resources" does not hold up to any amount of real scrutiny.

^this.  My wife tells people that she has 31 children every day... it wouldn't be fair to anyone if she left one (or 2 or 3) at home.

Suikoden 2: 20 hours in.  Really great so far.  Is it bad that I'm sort of relieved that
Spoiler: show

you've all just outlined 85% of the reasons my wife and I aren't having kids.  I don't think either of us could handle the guilt of forcibly bringing someone into this train wreck.

The other %15 is because babies are too expensive.

^ this made me smile

The next time I go to a sporting event, I'm going to get on one knee during the anthem and if anyone says anything, I'll tell them I'm just "kneeling for the lord. This is America. You can't tell me not to kneel for the lord" That would create such a profound paradox in enough people's mind that maybe they'd collapse in on themselves and we could finally move forward.

MM/DD/YY holds no logic though =/

In America, we're all too busy trying to hoard firearms and deny women birth control to worry about updating our archaic dates and measurement systems.
