2086  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Decent real-time rpgs? on: July 31, 2007, 08:20:40 PM
I think some of the Ys games have similar systems, but I have no idea since I've never played any of them.

Also, like Eusis said, the Summon Night: Swordcraft Story games for the GBA, but they're kinda like the older Tales games where the action takes place in one line...

Watched the first 2 eps of Desert Punk. It's good to watch a comedic anime that's vulgar once in a while after watching so many serious anime lately.

Been playing SO3 and I haven't been liking it so far. It's far too easy to die in this game...and I'm not the type of person willing to redo so much crap...

Then you're probably not going to like it. It's really fucking difficult, to the point where you want to throw your PS2 out the window (I almost did). The game starts difficult and unfair, and gets worse. I can't believe I put as much time into that POS as I did. Took me 60 hours to realize that I wasn't enjoying it, and stopped playing it.

Well, I did just play TotA, which is probably one of the easiest RPGs I've played, or completing ToS 3 times helped me be good at TotA right away or something. Never had to level-grind in TotA, but I guess SO3's obviously different.

Plus, now I'm finally getting the hang of the system, though I really hate the Fury gauge.

Anyways, played more SO3 earlier. Got to some town called Arias or something like that.

Yeah, just keep them for like 5 years and sell them on ebay or amazon where they'll be worth 150 bucks a piece or something like that.

Reposting my list, since it's been a while...and adding Tales of the Abyss to it.

Tales of Symphonia (3rd time on Normal)
Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones (Easy)
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story 2
Final Fantasy IV Advance
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (3rd time)
Lunar Legend
Pokémon Silver
Baten Kaitos: Eternal Wings and the Lost Ocean
Pokémon LeafGreen
Tales of the Abyss

And hopefully I get Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation on this list soon.

Earlier, I beat chapter 39 on Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation. Started part of 40 though.

Though, for the last 5-6 hours, I played Tales of the Abyss. Finally beat it, completing it in 47 hours. I liked it a lot, but I still prefer Symphonia, though I'm probably one of the few lol, though the Abyss is a great game, and I really enjoyed playing it the past week.

Now 36 hours into Tales of the Abyss. Just like Team Symphonia to drag out the game past where it could have ended. >.>

33 hours in TotA now...

Code:
Beat Arietta, Legretta, and Largo. I had to keep using Life Bottles on Luke and Guy...besides that, the battle wasn't too hard, as I beat all three of them within five minutes. Then I just released the last passage ring, watched the story events that followed, and I'm heading for Keterburg..

30 hours into Tales of the Abyss.

Code:
Just got out of the planet's core, beating the shit out of Sync (Yay for Mystic Artes, though Sync's Mystic Arte killed me >.>), finding out Ion and Sync are replicas, and watching Lorelei take over Tear's body momentarily.

Finally beat chapter 38 on Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation. It got dragged out farther than it should have....

And I've played some more Tales of the Abyss.

I've been playing a lot of Tales of the Abyss, and I've put 21.5 hours in.

I'm at...

Code:
Yulia City after St. Binah fell. And I'm glad I have the aircraft now....

The battle system is awesome....that's enough reason for me to want this game. >.>
