Having a job you love is pretty rare.

Yeah. I absolutely loved my job. I honestly wanted to do it for another 20 years and retire. I didn't make amazing money but I loved what I did.

Thanks folks. It is...rough...at the moment. I am already redoing my resume and sending it out to jobs. It puts our house on hold but in a few months we can look again if I can find a job. Luckily I did get a sweet severance package. They are also paying me until the end of the month, plus I have about 80 hours of paid time off that will be added. We aren't in the immediate threat of losing everything, but it will eat into our savings a bit.

Good news everyone! You don't have to read about me buying a house anymore and being annoyingly excited for it....

because I was just let go from my job because they reorganized my department.

Still waiting for the bank to send back the paperwork. They had 48 hours to respond. It has been 96. Our recourse is to not buy the house. And that isn't happening so they have all the leverage. Our realtor is confident that we will hear tomorrow.

Our first purchase as husband and wife was to get a king size memory foam mattress. It is amazing. By the way... Two full. Sized beds equals a king

I am sure you looked but 8-1&keywords=breath+of+fire+dragon+quarter $17 is probably about as good as it gets.

I have gotten back into DDO and I am playing on Sarlona. Does anyone else play? It's free... Sorta. Chunks of the game are behind a pay wall. Overall it's a  lot of fun though.

So I decided to give the SYFY series Wynnona Earp a shot. Holy shit it is bad. It is good. In a terrible way. So cheesy and campy

Sadly we had to bid adieu to our dream of having our home where we wanted it and the exact home we wanted. We ended up putting a bid on another home.

:(

I hope the next place is nice. Is it nice?

Yeah. My wife likes it a lot. The home itself is super nice. A lot less land and second rate Internet service. We looked at another one right down the street from the home we were going to have built. The land was nice. It had an AMAZING garage and shop (about 750 square feet). The home itself though was old and outdated. Too much so to justify living in an updating.... According to my wife. Happy wife happy life right?

Fuck home buying. The developer is an asshole. I have heard most in the construction business are greedy and sleazy. Never have I seen it be so true.
In all faitness, construction work is VERY difficult. One missing permit or failed inspection and literally entire structures need to be taken down and made again at a later time. I recall one instance when an apartment I was doing work in was inspected and it was discovered that they lacked a permit to create an outdoor decl...that had already been fully built and furnished. The construction company had to pull the whole thing, re-file a permit, and rebuild the whole thing. The best part was they HAD a permit, but the permit wording apparently didn't acknowledge the outdoor deck as a part of the apartment proper or something I forget the details. Not saying that some of these guys aren't douchebags, but construction is fuckall convoluted. Make yourself involved as much as possible and look into everything you can.

I get that and I can appreciate that. My issue is the lying and misinformation. or no information. Seriously. I would rather hear bad news that is the truth than get strung along and told incorrect information. I have been trying to keep myself involved and aware. The problem is they lie. Like telling me that the wetlands lady would be out this week. Then when I called her since she is a civil servant and it's my right as a citizen to do that, she had no idea what I was talking about. When I called them to tell them the time frame she gave (3-6 weeks) they called the site guy, and then called me back and yelled at me and told me that now the county is going to do a full investigation of the wet lands instead of doing a "courtesy drive by". Maybe if they had told me that instead of telling me they were coming to survey it. But the entire scenario is a lie anyway because she had no idea about the property. Also, somehow in the span of about 9 minutes were able to called the site guy, the site guy calls the county, the site guy then  calls the sales guy back, who is then able to call me? It seems implausible that all of the information about it being made into a "full investigation" could be learned within that 9 minute period with all those phone calls needing to be made. Also...and I can't stress this enough....if they had just explained to me what was going on I wouldn't have called. I would have just waited. Instead I called because they have given me less than accurate information before.

Oh, and the mortgage guy tells me they have 22 houses and sites to do (it's manufactured homes) and that the homes aren't expected to start being delivered until end of June. and they can only do 2 houses per week. And the home manufacturer doesn't have our order yet.

Our landlord wants us to sign a lease and rent just went up. We are month to month and don't want to sign a lease because we are supposed to be out by the end of July or at the latest August. Without a single tree being cut down so far it seems like a pipe dream.

We are now  being told that clearing can't begin because an ecological study needs to be performed because of a small patch of wet lands. It could take a week. It could take 3 months. Fuuu

The company doing the clearing of the land is pissing me off. They haven't started clearing like they were supposed to. I have been assured it will start by Friday. We are a week behind though. I know they factor in delays but fuuuuuuu

I like pickles too.  If you ever go down south, deep fried dill pickle slices are a thing... and they are delicious.

Fried pickles are amazing. I beer batter and fry my own. Using pickles I made myself.
