1  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently watched Episodes of TELEVISION BOX offerings! on: April 15, 2015, 03:29:28 PM
Wow. That Flash episode Tuesday night, "Out of Time." Absolutely crazy. Usually in most 23 episode-season run series the writers stretch out plotlines over the season. I felt like that episode had major implications for the future of the show. Without spoiling too much for RPGfans who haven't seen the show or particularly the episode aired this week we'll just say time travel will play a major role in future episodes to come. The tricky thing is how will the writers write/re-write the timeline to come without confusing and frustrating fans of the show and comic with having to keep track of timelines. Also, with the recently announced The Flash/Arrow spinoff... I wonder if they'll try to resolve plotlines there. Although... who knows when they'll film it and release the pilot episode.

This has become one of my favorite shows. It is amazing. I am super excited to see Captain Cold in the new show since he one of the characters spinning off. He is played amazingly well in this iteration. A bad guy with an interesting set of values and a code. Will he be an unlikely hero in the new show as he is in the comics at times, or will they continue to make him a villain?

Also something I am curious about-

Code:
Will Caitlin become Killer Frost at some point since Caitlin Snow is one of the people that has been Killer Frost through the years in the comics?

So there were to versions in Japan. Which one was released in the US? Was it the professional with the extra monsters or the original? I can't find any reference.
3  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: The unofficial "recommend me a game" thread. on: March 27, 2015, 12:30:36 PM
I got a New 3ds XL for my birthday and I am trying to find some good games for it. I have previously had a 3ds and played the Fire Emblem games and FFTA games.  I am trying to find something good that is either strategy or a good story based turn based RPG. Anyone have any recommendations?

So, uh...

Apparently my stepdad's father went crazy and tried to kill his wife before killing himself. This was my afternoon today.

Yeah...

Though let this be a lesson. Plenty of people could have seen this coming but chose not to. I've met the man multiple times and it was super apparent he was losing his marbles. I don't care how close you are to your elders, dementia is not something to be taken lightly. If you see the signs, get them help.

My cousin did this a few years ago...except he did kill his wife and then himself, leaving their daughter without parents. It is a weird and rough experience. Especially if you are close to them. I felt a lot of anger towards him for doing that, more than I felt grief for it happening.

That's harsh.
Is it a chain? As in, any hope of some few being relocated to another store?

Well, it's Gamestop so while that option is available, most of us aren't going to go that route for various reasons. The most important is that Gamestop does barely any hiring outside of October, so anywhere we go we'd be an extra cog and have to earn our hours all over again. For me it's more difficult. I don't drive, and this store is the only one in walking distance. There's public transportation, but outside of the city proper it's pretty unreliable and even then it's not worth it for a part-time job.

The whole situation is just asshole bussinessman being asshole businessmen. Our landord is being an asshole and not renewing our lease because the store next to us, Olympia Sports, is being an asshole and paying more for our storefront so they can expand their store. Then corporate is being an asshole by not wanting to spend the money to furnish a new location.

It's okay, though, because they just pissed a lot of people off. Our main clientele is from Marblehead, a small town of extremely rich folks from old money. The two closest Gamestops to ours are either next to a Walmart or in Lynn, a town most people consider to be a bit of a ghetto.

Crazy. I was the manager in Sudbury, MA years ago and before that I was the manager at Solomon Pond Mall. Oh the memories.

So today involved everyone at work finding out our store is closing... in 9 days.

I don't really have anything more to add to that at the moment because I still haven't fully processed this information.

Wow, damn. That sucks.
7  The Rest / The Bazaar / Suikoden V on: March 06, 2015, 11:41:44 AM
I bet you came here thinking I was selling this game, didn't you? Well imaginary person, you would be wrong. I am actually looking to buy this game. I realized during my current playthrough of Suikoden II that I have actually not play V, which most people compare to the awesomeness that is II. So now, I am looking to buy or borrow a US version of the game. I have looked on EBay and Amazon and they are ridiculously expensive, which I can understand, but I am hoping someone here owns an extra copy and is willing to let it go for a bit cheaper than the 100+ most are going for. Thanks!

Damn Logick, that sucks. I know at one point the SF office of WB games was looking. Good luck finding a place.

Getting antsy for my Vegas trip. We are driving. It should be a good time.

Fucking 12 year olds man. I need to remember to call my mom and apologize for just being.

I moved in with my girlfriend and her son. I am not sure how to deal with a 12 year old when he is moody. I am trying to be hands off with the "parenting"  stuff and just build rapport for now. It is an interesting experience.

I moved in with my girlfriend this past weekend. She has a 12 year old son, so it's cool because he and I get along and play games and stuff. I started playing Magic The Gathering again so I could teach him. I forgot how addictive this game can be.

That play was heartbreaking. The gif is awesome.

Not to be confused with a Seahawks fan, but this guy is pretty funny off and on the field, heh.

I am a Seahawks fan and I love this.

Kevadu: He is a running back for the Seattle Seahawks. He hates talking to media.

I wish the Superbowl was this weekend instead of next. I am getting antsy!
15  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Movies that make you cry on: January 23, 2015, 12:53:41 PM
I am definitely with some of you guys where you get emotional at the big heroic moments more so than the sad ones. That is how I usually am.

Except when someone is upset about an animal death. That gets me in movies. The movie that even thinking about makes me cry is the original Where the Red Fern Grows. I remember watching it in school and I started bawling like a baby.

Edit. Also any scene of a military funeral or funeral that plays TAPS
