I am spreading my comcast/xfinity story everywhere. This is the message I left on their facebook. Feel free to share. I frustrated as fuck by them-

Oh ‪#‎Comcast‬ ‪#‎xfinity‬. You have replaced the old c-word (and not cancer) as the c-word in my vocabulary. You make me so angry. I refuse to say your name any longer.
Since I moved into the current apartment a year ago I have had nothing but problems. Not all of them have been your fault. Some of them have been because of the wiring issues of the apartment itself.
Recently I began to have trouble with my X1 service after switching a few weeks ago. All started out well, then the any room DVR part stopped working. You sent out a tech and he moved some stuff around and said "I don't know", then you sent out another tech to switch out the X1 with the old style system for the any room DVR, but he said that it wouldn't work if he switched it (even though it had worked previous to X1), after some more complaining you actually had a tech look at it via the computer system to see if things were working. They said it was active, but not on, so another tech came out to see what the issue was. He is one that had come to visit way back last year when I was having a lot of internet issues.
He advised me that the reason it wasn't working was because of the way the wiring was set up in the apartment.
Well, that's a bummer, I get that. Why then, did they install X1? I explained the set up and that it was essentially two separate lines, to the original tech. So it took 4 people to realize that x1 just won't work in my apartment. Ok. Again, that's fine. It's a bit irritating, but nothing that can be done about it now. Also I am moving soon so I can deal with the lack of any room DVR for a month, give or take, so no big deal.
Then you have the BALLS to charge me for tech visits without telling me you would be doing so AND charge me for the service that I can't use because of the apartment wiring? I get that you can't know that was the issue (despite this being the issue previously and I would imagine is or at least should be noted in your account, and is DEFINITELY noted on the box outside the apartment) but why is it that I am being charged? Especially when this is an escalated issue?
So there it is, #comcast #xfinity. These are the reasons I am breaking up with you. I am not sure what I will do, because there aren't a lot of choices, but I am done over paying and then getting nickel and dimed every time I have an issue. Tomorrow I will be returning my equipment to your offices

I don't know how I missed this, but I wish I had kept missing it because now my brain is goo and I want to have illicit sex with meat, garlic and tea...

COMBO BREAKER

I went to the store today during my lunch break to find something for dinner. While looking through the manager special meat (basically meat that is almost at it's sell by date-usually 2 days away) I find a T-bone for 5 cents a pound. Yes. You read that right. 5 cents a pound. It was a little over a pound so the price was 6 cents. I was a little shy because of the price, I mean that is super expensive. Luckily for me it also had a 30% off sticker on it so I bought it for the extravagant price of 4 cents.

Also...related to the above posts...I am not sure how to take the question about whether I believe in the paranormal or not. It is one of those questions that can easily have judgement behind it. Also, I am assuming that Grim feels similarly to me, which is why there weren't words, just the post quoted. I am not sure what to believe, I don't disbelieve, just...don't know. I have seen some things I can't explain and heard some things that scared the shit out of me. It is a fun adventure to go out and do these investigations.

This is what I typed:
"Yeah, I was about to ask what Mr. Kael beat me to. Seems like a lot of money spent on something kind of...silly? To each their own and all that. Unless you're going to be on one of those ghost hunter shows, then go nuts. Those people are very good at scaring themselves, then pretending it's all real.
You know me, Dagg. Skeptic extraordinaire. "

It's actually in the post, just in the wrong place.

I don't think it's silly, that's why. It is a way to go out and explore history. I may never get proof that there is anything out there, and as I said I am not sure if I even believe that there is, I just don't know. It's a hobby and I spend money on hobbies. I would never spend money on a nice tree or shrub, but you would.

"I would never spend money on a nice tree or shrub, but you would."
So you'd spend money on a not-so-nice tree or shrub? ;-)

Well, you're welcome for the cleaner air my trees and shrubs help to create then. hmph.

BTW, I like the exploring of history angle. Always interesting. You hear they opened up to the public that supposedly haunted house with ten million rooms that is constantly being worked on? I forget the name of it, and where it's at. That would be interesting to go see. I remember watching a show about it.

Are you talking the Winchester Mystery house? The one where some say the Lady Winchester had construction constantly going, some say to keep the spirits of people that were killed by Winchester rifles and ammunition from getting her? If so, that place is awesome.

I don't need oxygen from your trees and shrubs. Robots don't breathe.

Dogs can't handle magic when a treat gets "lost".
That was FANTASTIC.

I will not judge, I was just curious.

I didn't think you were judging :-) Most people around here are accepting of things that others do. It is just one of those questions I get a lot when I talk about my hobby. Sometimes it is dripping with judgement, and sometimes it is just curiosity. My comment was more of a general statement.

Ordered a 1080P 8 channel NVR and 4 cameras as an early birthday present to myself. I wont be using this surveillance system for home security. I will be taking it with me to paranormal investigations.
What a coincidence,I just installed an 8 channel dvr system at a restaurant, shame the cameras are only standard resolution. Only difference besides that is it IS for surveilance.

I was considering a 960h system but I wanted the high Def so that I can see more detail in the dark.
Have you tested the cameras yet to see if their night vision is adequate? Most camera say night vision, but really mean maybe 10 feet of viewable distance before it's too dark.

Yeah, I saw the cameras in action. They have a good 30ft of true night vision (0 lux lighting). Most of the places I will be using them will have a little better than that, though not by much. I expect about 40-50ft of good coverage and then degraded beyond that. I plan on testing them this weekend when I go stay at a reportedly haunted hotel. I will let them run over night. Good times.

Do you actually believe in ghosts btw?

I don't know. I am not against the idea, but I don't really know.

Found an apartment with a roommate. His roommate is moving out so I am moving in for the remainder of the lease (until Sept) it actually works pretty well because if it's terrible it is only for  a few months. If it works out then it could be for longer. He seems pretty cool. He is a quiet gamer.

Apartment hunting is not going well. Why the fuck are 1 bedroom apartments barely less than 2 bedrooms and both are outrageously expensive unless you make very little money per year or want to get shot? The majority of apartments at less than 1k per month are tax credit apartments and I make too much money for them. Or they are in places where I don't feel safe, or the apartments themselves are disgusting. I need friends.
