1081  Media / Multiplayer RPGs / Any FFXI players still around and Discussion on: September 26, 2007, 09:44:10 PM
My copies have shipped. I should be receiving it in the next 2-5 days. I am really hoping that I get it by Friday. I want me some FFXI goodness.

$12.95/month for one character, each additional character is $1.00/month.

Blech. I was hoping they did away with that. Oh well.

I just ordered 2 copies today since every store in the area was out of it. I should get it by the end of the week. I sure wish I could remember my information from before since they are starting a Return to Vanadiel thing tomorrow.

Edit: I forgot how much it costs each month to play and is it still only one character per account unless you buy a content ID?

Yeah, our second copy (if it ever arrives in the post) is the one with the three expansions.  Cost us 30ish bucks after taxes and shipping?  Defnately not bad, since WoW and ONE expansion cost, like, double that.

And FUCK YEAH.  I'm playing a Mithra Corsair for sure now, Shiggy.  :P

Yeah, but I already own WoW so I don't need to buy it again =P
The other downside is that WoW is paid up until January. My major obstacle at the moment is getting my wife back into FFXI. I am all for it.

I really want to get into this game but I have to buy it again if I want to play, and I need to buy a new controller for my PC since I can not play FFXI with the keyboard. Maybe soon. It's hard to put aside WoW when I have put so much time playing it.

... It's not like you have to read his books or do anything more than glance at their covers/spines at a bookstore, if even that. And there's way worse authors out there (that I wouldn't wish real harm on anyway) as DR's example kinda shows.

Your point? I am allowed to feel the way I do, regardless whether it bothers people or not. I am glad he isn't writing books anymore. I am not happy about him dying.

I have two reactions...one of which will get me called an asshole...but it's how I feel so fuck off...

1. No more shitty shitty books being written by this man, yay!

2. It sucks that he died for the first reaction to happen...I would have rather he simply lost a hand...or part of his brain.

Thanks Shigs. The worst case scenario is I spend the 19.99 and get it new and start from scratch. Either way I will be on your server, since that's where my characters are.

I really want to give FFXI another shot, since I loved it before. Is there some way to retrieve my old account?

The Hawk and Fisher books by Simon R. Green is awesome.

what are you talking about? why do people want to solo in mmo's?thats like masturbating at an orgy. its near impossible to have a system where both solo'ing and partying are equally effective without having adverse effects on the other. anyways i'm loving the new ffxi pokemanz. anyways my apkallu just got served by a wamoura of the flying death variety. if you dont know what that is its basically a moth form of a crawler.

Sometimes you can't find someone to do stuff with and/or just feel like doing something by yourself. People pay the same amount whether they want to solo or group, why should it matter to you what they want to do?
1092  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Blue Dragon on: September 04, 2007, 10:28:21 AM
So I am digging Blue Dragon. It's a bit on the easy side, but it is fun.

Something I found by accident, but seems to be working really well.

Code:
To get a lot of SP level up Barrier Mage to get Field Barrier. Then go to Laser Fields. There is a spot where monsters keep dropping from the sky almost continually. If you have Field Barrier 3 you can keep killing them with that to get 2 SP per kill and it only takes one MP per monster. If you have regenerate MP you get enough back to do it for an excessively long time.
1093  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Searching OST RPG for PC on: September 04, 2007, 10:23:49 AM
Quote from: "UNIX"
Hm, with OST i meant games from japan and so on, such as the final fantasy series, tales of, valkyrie profile etc.
Am I wrong?

However, i am still searching :)

So you are looking for J-RPGs. There aren't many console style J-RPGs available for the PC. OST stands for Original (or Official) Sound Track. It's the music for the games.

well well i guess i will play it someday... when xbox 360 is emulated in pc... i don`t think that will happen soon >_<

I hope you burn in hell.

He wants to emulate a game on a computer that'd probably have to cost far more than that game and the X360 did. That's more something to laugh at than go "DIE IN A FIRE" over. :P

Edit: Not to mention that if the game REALLY does fail it'd cost something like $10 used at GameStop.

Can't I have it both ways just this once? Laugh at him as he dies in a fire?

I hope you burn in hell.

Edit: I don't mean one of the hells that they talk about in religion. I mean I hope someone sets you on fire and you say "Man, this must be what hell is like" right before your skin drips off of you like hot wax.
