If the work for Walmart, shouldn't you atleast allow them the illusion that the people they serve have an equally shitty life fueled by low expectations and calorie rich escapism?

Besides, considering what I've seen of Walmart online, it may not be an illusion...

I have never understood the stigma of working at Walmart or McDonalds. People assume that the people working there are shit. Why? Because they have jobs? Because they are just trying to make ends meet? Not everyone is qualified to do more. That doesn't make them shitty or mean they have a shitty life. Sometimes there are not a lot of jobs available and to provide for their family a person will take whatever they can get. Why denigrate them? Does it make people feel better to assume they are superior to someone with a "shitty" job? Without the people willing to work those jobs you wouldn't be able to cash out at your local store.

All of the permits came back to start the house. They will be clearing the land starting sometime this week. I have ordered a drone to take aerial photographs of the progress.

I finished the legend of drizzt books 1-3 that are wrapped in one book. I loved it. They do some interesting stuff with D&D lore and there are good twists given Drizzt's background. It is all pretty straightforward but it is a damn fun journey.

Complaint about the set. In the last book there were groups of blank pages a out every 30 pages or so. I was forced to buy that book, Sojourn, on kindle

If you want to buy any of the Drizzt books signed by RA Salvatore, let me know. I have a few ;-)

Reading The Seven Forges. It is an interesting book series so far. Only on book 2.

Someone suggested pics or it didn't happen about my home so here is a panoramic shot of the front of the land before the work has been started. It should. Be starting within a week or two.

Went to see Jonathan Coulton last night at The Triple Door in Seattle. I got the tickets from my son for my birthday. The tickets were amazing. Front row. It was an awesome show. Since it's emerald city comicon right now he had some cool guests. Patrick Rothfuss came out at one point.

My wife got me a kitchen aid mixer for my birthday. She also got. Me the meat grinder attachment. Soooooooo fucking excited!

this sentence parses very strangely with that period after the "me," there.

The joy of typing on  a phone keyboard with fat fingers.

She got me the black one. It has the stronger motor and the bowl that can be raise and lowered. She also got me the spiralizer and the food processor attachment. I will be buying a couple of the pasta attachments. The ravioli one looks awesome.

The convenience of flying is entirely dependent on how far you're traveling...

I live in Seattle but do occasionally like to visit my folks back in Connecticut.  I can get there in a few hours flying.  Driving would take a week, one way.  That's not very convenient.  And that's not even on the save level as all the trips I've taken to Europe or Asia...

Basically if you think driving is more convenient it means you're not going very far.  There's a whole world out there.

Damn dude... It takes a week to drive? I drove from New Hampshire to Seattle alone on 3 days.

When Searching for movies on Imdb I found a strange occurrence. John Leguizamo is missing from my Imdb app. I search for movies he is in and it doesn't show him in the cast list. I search for him specifically and the app crashes. What the fuck?
