Oh my sweet fuck....  I watched the movie Drive (logo is hot pink, heh :/ ), and I think my jaw hit the floor on five separate occasions.  Simple, but great story, wonderful, but non-complicated, cinematography, and the very 80's, but non-80's era, soundtrack was really cool.  This movie is awesome, but a tough baby to recommend.  But I do really recommend it for something different, and surprisingly and disturbingly brutal.  It's a slow build, but big finish.

I love this film. The more I think about it, the more I want to see it again!

Probably pathos for all the ass-beatings he would end up handing out in the future. Erm, alternate future.

Also, obligatory link to awesome lizard-man fight.

That was almost painful to watch. :P

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck.

Stupid college stuff getting to me and I really wish I could just resolve this now and get it the hell over with. But no! Of course not. That's bureaucracy for you. On the bright side of the situation, I do feel a lot less undecided about what I want to do with my life. It's not a very happy silver lining.

Sleeping troubles, I sympathize. :(

Went to bed at midnight, slept at two and woke up at five-ish. But I've had a productive morning. Meeting with international office today and I really hope it's a quick one 'cause I'm exhausted as it is.

Kirk and Spock were ok.

Waiting 50 min to see Simon Pegg is too long.

I was positively delighted by Spock and Scotty! And yeah, Karl Urban was great (the look on his face sometimes, priceless). Now is it me or did Kirk...

Code:
... get beat up a lot in the movie? he seemed to be taking punches all around!

At any rate, I'm also excited for the next film.

I saw "Star Trek" ('09) today and I really enjoyed it! I'm not a huge ST fan but the movie made me ridiculously happy. Thought that everyone was really well cast, too.

All I asked for was The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. Then my mom said I had to make a full list. Then when I made it she gave me crap saying I only asked for one thing and... Well here's the list, now that I'm done complaining about nothing.

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor OVERCLOCKED, the Hatsune Miku album by Supercell, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga 1&2, Pokemon Rumble Blast, Aselia: The Eternal, and Final Fantasy XIII-2 Collector's Edition. WHY DO THEY MAKE ME ASK FOR NICE THINGS.

First world problems? >_>;;

What I want for Christmas are the things I dreaded getting when I was younger.

Socks and underwear, please. Especially socks.

I feel like getting you some very ridiculous-looking socks now. D:

Did a secret santa exchange. I received a tiny Angry Bird plush, gave someone a pretty little bracelet from this indie store near the university.

Family doesn't do the whole Christmas thing but all of us will be getting together over the break, which is great. I'll probably get some spending money and may buy myself a winter jacket, new boots and a typewriter.

Spent nearly three hours on Skype with my sister, the both of us playing Sporcle games together. Everyone now and then I kind of wish I had a "best friend" at college (as some people do) but then I remember that I've had the good fortune of growing up with one of my best friends ever. I love that little brat.

also, those three hours went by very quickly and i only just realized it's basically morning here. crap.

Aaaaw, that sounds terrible. I hate it when pets are ill, because you can't tell what's going on in their heads.

I hope he's comfortable at the end (or that the end isn't near at all). :-/

My rabbit is getting worse. I think he might actually die this time...

Sorry to hear that Tomara. :(

What kind of condition is he in? I hope he gets better instead.

Started on "Revolutionary Road". It isn't the most cheerful writing but I'm liking it.

The only criteria I have once I learn of a new band is this: do other people like them?

If so, they probably suck.

Pfft, hipster!

Haps: Called my dad today, discussed taking the rest of my academic year off. It's been on my mind for months now and I don't know why I didn't want to bring it up until now. Probably didn't have the guts. I'm going to see about doing some volunteer work or getting a job. Maybe start on some personal projects I've been meaning to do. I feel so much better now that I've actually faced the decision.

Man, 2007 was one fucking long year. >_>;;

Time has gone by really quick though. Has it really been nearly four years since this thread started? I haven't changed much at all, appearance-wise.

Not to sound mean but it's kind of comforting to know I ain't the only one grappling with precarious finals and general doubts about my education. Not that I don't think I made an informed decision when I took my degree but I think that I've sort of hit a wall where the whole point of our modules is lost on me. I know what I want to do with my life and it bums me out that I'm wasting my time in a system that's so wrapped around itself.

But yeah, big chance I might not pass a couple of modules this term. They weren't even difficult modules. I just didn't put anything into them because I was (am?) just so frustrated about how they contribute to my life goals. Ugh. Another year or two of this and it'll all be over. :-/

I love how mother nature is all "fuck this, I'm declaring my own holiday" over here. :D
