I was a SNES kid myself so that is totally on my retro list as well.

I LOVE going back and discovering 16 bit classics I missed. Terranigma has been my flavor for a bit now (finally got me a boat!!) with Treasure Hunter G, Rudra No Hidra, Romancing Saga 3 and Phantasy Star all waiting on deck. Also want to get to Vay. I don't care if it was sega CD. It was still part of that era for me, and I missed it dammit!

I'm actually really enjoying it.

It's been pretty kind so far about not making me grind too much until now. I'm at Garuberk Tower and I have a feeling I'm going to be spending a few hours just grinding my face off. It's the first real brick wall that I've hit, so I can't complain too much.

Is it wrapped?

I don't see it.....

Because the great RPG boom really was in the PS1 era, where pretty much everyone played RPGs and Final Fantasy VII was the biggest of all.

I bet you couldn't find a 1/10th of the people who have played Final Fantasy VII also played Phantasy Star IV.

Yeah, that's probably true. Although with the Sega collections on PS2/PS3 I would think there might be more now.

It's hard to say.

I'll check under the bed when I get home.

I always like somewhere fun like an amusement park or water park for a first date. But I'm immature.

Woke up on Sunday and my big toe was killing me. I assumed I had kicked the wall in my sleep because my bed is right beside it and thought it would go away.

Left it for two days and could barely walk. Went to the doctor and he said "Nope, that's a bite, you should have come in right away."

:/

After a tetanus shot and some meds, I feel a lot better. I can actually walk, although still slowly, and my foot is still tender. It's made a world of difference though.

I can't figure out what the hell bit me though.

I was in the mood for an old school rpg on the weekend so I started playing Phantasy Star IV.

Having never played any of them before, I was (and am) pretty impressed with it.

I find it interesting the way they switch out characters continuously through the game, although it doesn't give a lot of room for development other than Chaz.

Why doesn't
Code:
Alys' death
get talked about like Aeris' though?

At the tower now in Dezolis, about to fight the darkness.

How's NIER, anyway? Looks interesting to me, and I've heard some people say it plays really poorly, but the reviews here made it sound like it plays fine, it's just nothing particularly original or mindblowing

It's unique enough and interesting enough that it's definitely worth a playthrough. Then you can decide whether you want to play through again for the other endings.

I don't know if I'm early or late due to the timezone, but happy birthday! /(^^)/

I told you guys to buy Puppeteer. Nobody wanted to listen.

I actually bought it when it came out but I'm just getting around to it now. :/

No one can blame you for forgetting a game as forgettable as Legend of Legaia

I am really, truly, genuinely shocked at the production values for Puppeteer.

This is a slick looking game.

I was worried the jumping would be shit like Little Big Planet, because the main character kind of resembles Nut Sack Boy, but it's much less frustrating.

I can't believe Sony just sent this out to die.

Nearly finished Tomb Raider (2013)

I'm surprised at how much it reminds me of Siren New Translation in tone in some places.

Saw Edge of Tomorrow recently, sort of like a cross between Groundhog Day and Starship Troopers.

I saw that tonight, and it was a surprisingly good adaptation of the novel.

I always remembered Seasons 1 & 2 as being weak, but season 2 is actually pretty solid overall.

The last 4 or 5 episodes of season 3 are godly.

Season 5 has a surprisingly large amount of stand alone episodes with little consequence on the over arcing story.
