I have only one wish for Fallout 4.

That the game actually works.

Started watching Outlaw Star based on Dincrest's recommendation.

Only on the second episode but so far, so good.

Haven't seen Outlaw Starr or Brave Starr - are they worth it?

The thing I like about FFX (besides the soundtrack) is that despite the lack of a world map, the game really succeeds in making you feel like you're going on the epic journey/roadtrip they tried to represent.

As for the party, I tried to use everyone at least once per turn which wasn't always easy but the easy switching helped and I liked keeping everyone even in stats.

Oh and FF12 sucks. It is only second to FF8 in terribleness.

I finished a run through of Diablo 3 with the Demon Hunter, who basically becomes invincible once you get rapid fire.

And I finished Drakengard 3 ending D.

Diablo's ending was meh and Drakengard's was fucking god awful.

For a change of pace, I am finally getting around to playing Another Code R on the Wii.

Considering the state of the character, I think they have.

Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs

Cheesy, terrible voice acting, cliche ridden....but I still love it.

CS I & II physical release on consoles? I'm in.
54  Media / RPGFan Music Discussion / Re: Persona 2: Eternal Punishment OST (PSP 5-disc release) on: June 03, 2015, 01:13:13 AM
I bought the six disc Innocent Sin soundtrack primarily for the original mix, which I wanted to own.

I didn't really care for the new mixes on that - and I can't imagine I would care for the new mixes on this.

There's a certain charm that the original soundtrack has for me that can't be replaced. Probably nostalgia as it brings back specific memories.

I guess disappointment may come across as a tad unfair, but I will say I'm disappointed in the lack of variety.

I can't really argue with that, I'm just curious how they were different.
57  Media / RPGFan Music Discussion / Re: Xenoblade X OST on: May 24, 2015, 09:39:32 PM
I gave it a listen this afternoon, and the best I can come up with is ... "Meh".

I don't mind that kind of electronic music but there's a distinct lack of variety in the soundtrack, particularly in the first two discs.

The third is better and the last is the best, but it's not saying much.

I wasn't expecting the Xenoblade themes to be redone - but I expected more creativity, and it just wasn't there to me.

Far too much repetition of style and genre. I think some of the songs might have been better without lyrics (And no, I'm not a fan of Black Tar either)

The only two real standout tracks are NLA Shigai on Disc 3 and X-BT3 on Disc 4.

Pretty big disappointment considering the quality of Xenoblade's sountrack.

They should have stuck with what worked and used the last game's composers.

TLDR: I don't mind that they used electronic music - but it kind of all sounds the same. There isn't as much variety in the music as there could have been.

In no particular order:

1) Lunar: Silver Star [Sega CD ver - MUCH better music; darker plot than "Complete"]

How is the plot different?
59  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Top 10 RPGs Poll on: May 22, 2015, 04:30:09 PM
Not sure if they have to be in order:

1. Suikoden 2
2. Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne
3. Nier
4. Grandia 1
5. Shadow Hearts
6. Legend of Mana
7. Final Fantasy 9
8. Xenoblade
9. Skies of Arcadia: Legends
10. Pool of Radiance

I would have but it's $60 in Canada.

The new Atlus tax plus publishers fucking over Canada on game prices means I won't be getting this for quite a while.
