4906  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Digital Devil Saga question on: June 16, 2008, 04:19:20 AM
No time. I want to finish the DDS games, P3's Answer, and then sit down and go through Suikoden I-V before I start school.
4907  Media / The Soundroom / Garth Brooks and The Beatles are technophobes. on: June 16, 2008, 02:31:59 AM

I have nothing against technology, but I prefer a physical CD.

Me too.

Your average joe doesn't give a crap what the bit-rate is, and nor does he likely know what that means, as long as he can get the song he wants.

I think Garth Brooks actually has some valid points(!), though I think forcing people to buy albums *only* is going to piss some people off.

What intrigued me was this quote - ""And if people try to make it a money issue, I can get the full album to the consumer for much less than they can get it at 99 cents a song."

I'm curious what he has in mind.

4909  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Digital Devil Saga question on: June 16, 2008, 02:25:08 AM
Well I'm at the tower now, and I'm about to go off and kill Beelzebub, so starting over would be a pain.

Doesn't seem like it's a big deal. Thanks for the info.
4910  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Digital Devil Saga question on: June 16, 2008, 02:12:37 AM
So I've been replaying this and I realised I answered one of the key choices wrong and now I can't get the character for DDS2.

Is it worth it for me to start my game over and do the choices over, or is it not a big deal?

Is it just me, or is The Answer incredibly difficult, though? Levelling up is a pain in it and no warping before the boss pisses me off a bit, missing the compendium, just a lot of frustration.  But I'll be damned because I want to know the rest of the story!

Aigis FTW. If I was a guy and I had robot man parts, I'd do 'er.

It's not just you.

I ended up getting frustrated and starting a game of DDS1.

For an RTD script, this week's was surprisingly good. And tense.
Far different than what I expect from him, despite his slipping in of his "gay agenda".

Just wanted to say that the videos on the comand room console are absolutely hilarious. Great adition to the game.

Videos on the command room console in the dorm? Just click on the console to access them?

Occasionally someone in the dorm will tell you that the console in the comand room is broken and ask you to fix it. That means a new video is available.

I also found that new videos would sometimes be up there without people asking me, but that was towards the end of the game. I usually checked around the end of the month.

Although Davros IS back, he might not be the head evil guy... someone else is the real big bad who is in league with the Supreme Dalek,

Harriet Jones is returning in the finale and is either in league with the Daleks, OR actually becomes the Supreme Dalek herself... "Davros and the Daleks force Harriet Jones to become a Dalek, and in doing so turns her in to the Supreme Dalek as Davros knows she is a great leader."

Which wasn't as bad as I had remembered.

I did like the soundtrack for it, I'll give it that.

Other than FF8, worst RPG ever made.

If you're one of those people who played FF8 thinking you had to piss away an eternity drawing spells from enemies, you obviously didn't play it right.

No, I thought the plot was ridiculous and the characters were weak.

To elaborate on my comment before, I guess I shouldn't say that LOD is really terrible.

The combat system is terrible.

The rest of the game is simply a testament to mediocrity. It's very, very generic, and stands out at a time when we were *starting* to see some experimentation within RPGs. (Legend of Mana, Koudelka and Persona for example)

As for the feasibility of getting it onto a Wii disc, it's 4 cds. Would it fit?

I would say

Grandia's because it's fun.

Suikoden I & II's because it's also fun and it's was fun pairing characters together to discover new combos.

Atlus' Press/Turn system because you have to pay attention.

Shadow Hearts, because I play drums and it was fairly easy for me to use.

I can't stand Star Ocean/Tales system, as I find them too chaotic and hard to follow what's going on.
