4936  Media / General Games / A Ghostbusters game? WE GOT OOOOOOOOOONE! on: June 12, 2008, 10:03:13 PM
It was okay on the C64, as I remember it.
4937  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Is the 360 the RPG console of this generation? on: June 12, 2008, 10:01:23 PM
Well I just made a post about this in the Star Ocean thread, but yeah, I agree.

The 360 seems to be getting the edge.

Play the games, not the system.

The only caveat with that is that the systems keep breaking down.

I will wait until August, and see what the news on the new Jasper models are.

Supposedly, it's going to ..... reduce the RROD problem, if not fix it.

If it does, I'll be looking forward to getting a reliable system with a load of RPGs, some of which will be fairly cheap by the time I pick up a system.

I want to see more of this "ship that travels to different planets" aspect.

So do I.

I hope we don't end up on a backwater planet again.

As far as the 360 vs PS3 thing, I think the 360 actually has a bit of the edge vs PS3.

Yes, FF is on the PS3 - we're getting two of them. Plus the multiplayer game I can never remember the name of.

360 has Last Remnant, Star Ocean 4, and Infinite Undiscovery. But it also has Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon - two games done by former Square employees, and word has it that Blue Dragon is okay and Lost Odyssey is quite good.

That's 5 games vs 2 plus one multi platform game.

Seems like the 360 is getting the edge on RPGs.
4939  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 3 on: June 03, 2008, 07:44:12 PM
Well I have to pack my shit as I am moving tomorrow morning. :/

Looks like I won't be able to give it a go until this weekend once I am more settled.

Thanks for the advice though.
4940  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 3 on: June 03, 2008, 05:43:06 PM
Well the problem is there was nowhere for me to save (that I saw).

And I'm *not* playing through the first 45 minutes over and over again, just to die the first time I go into the dungeon.

*That* is ridiculous.
4941  The Rest / General Discussions / Canadian border guards to check Ipods for illegal MP3s on: June 03, 2008, 05:41:20 PM
Now they're introducing a law that will have $500 fines *per download*.

:(

It is said that the main character made one final wish, and that was to be alive until graduation day.

Is that said during FES or during the game?

It's just incredibly vague.

Started The Answer last night. Sat through all the dialogue, got to the first dungeon, was attacked by a red Shadow, and died.

Fucking waste of 45 minutes. Is the whole episode like this?
4943  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 3 on: June 03, 2008, 12:12:51 AM
Finished The Journey tonight. Was level 87 with npcs at level 79. Had Satan and kept using his final spell (can't remember the name) and Nyx was a breeze.
Code:
So he died fighting Death? I thought he died inside Nyx and suddenly he shows up at school.
4944  Media / The Soundroom / Is the Policenauts soundtrack still in print? on: June 01, 2008, 11:58:00 PM
Thanks for the heads up from both of you. That bonus disc sounds great. I'm going to do some Ebay hunting around my birthday, so I'll keep it mind, thanks.
4945  Media / Single-Player RPGs / i'm usually not one to complain about rpg stories but.... on: June 01, 2008, 07:34:28 PM

The first Grandia's story was just as abhorrent...

Not abhorrent, just had a huge swerve in it that you weren't expecting.
4946  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Torchwood/Dr. Who discussion on: June 01, 2008, 02:38:38 AM
This week's episode is exactly why Stephen Moffat should be taking over. Credible, scary villains instead of stuff like a singing/dancing Master and reality show producing Daleks .
I can't wait for Series 5.
4947  Media / Single-Player RPGs / World Destruction Trailer, amazing music on: June 01, 2008, 02:26:14 AM
The kid looks like Yuri from Shadow Hearts. I had visions of Breath of Fire IV with the desert scenes. Good song.
4948  Media / Single-Player RPGs / another Atlus surprise? on: May 31, 2008, 08:40:47 PM
double post - sorry
4949  Media / Single-Player RPGs / another Atlus surprise? on: May 31, 2008, 08:37:40 PM
Given the fact that they released Persona 3 FES in North America, Persona 4 is pretty much a certainty.

Nevermind, looks like someone on Neogaf figured out what it probably is.

Jesus, I hope that's not it.

Jet16 - thanks. I didn't know that existed.
4950  Media / Single-Player RPGs / another Atlus surprise? on: May 31, 2008, 06:40:32 PM
You know, reading that card again, it actually makes me think more of Digital Devil Saga.

I could totally see Atlus reworking the game as an MMORPG, with two sides battling it out.

Now THAT'S a MegaTen I'd expect! Though, uhh, sounds like it's really not received well.

Not sure what you mean there.
