No-...Oh my God. So all along, those "classic Disney fairytales" were in fact dirty, disgusting, waste of space REMAKES? GOD DAMNIT. All those stories suck now.  Disney should have used its resources to create superior, original movies.  Let's march against Disney together, Lard.

Just because you don't like one of my posts in one part of the forum, doesn't mean you have to be a dick in another part.

I'd like to see a big budget adaptation of the Amber series by Roger Zelazny. In the right hands, it would be *awesome*.

Don't think this qualifies an RPG....though the closest comparison I can think of is Shenmue, and people seem to classify that as one.

I picked this up last week fairly cheap, since it's the only high profile title from Sega I've been interested in a while, and it was nice to see them not doing a terrible Sonic game.

I partly picked this up on the assumption that it was going to be *sort of* an adventure game...and the fact we're never getting Shenmue 3, so this was kind of a surrogate.

I tried the tutorial, which was, but did seem like it could get repetitive.

Just wondering how far off my assumptions are.

Naw, Lard, i think you're an elitist fuck that doesnt want younger audiences to be able to play a game with todays technology when they might have been a fucking fetus when it was initially released.

Get off your high horse, you're starting to sound dumb.

That's the stupidest thing ever posted on these boards.
God forbid someone have a differing opinion other than "REMAKES ARE TEH SHIZNIT!"

1) Lunar 1 and 2 were far, far more remake than port.

In what respects? Grandia especially, seemed a straight port.

2) FFIV's gameplay hasn't really aged well.

That's subjective.

3) If Square made something new and innovative, everyone would bitch about them not staying true to their roots or something retarded like that.

Like when Kingdom Hearts came out?

I actually picked this up partly because I'd heard a few comparisons to Shenmue and partly because of the reaction to the sequel announcement on this board. People seemed genuinely excited, so I thought I'd check out the first one.

b) It's not pointless. Were remakes pointless we wouldn't have excellent remade experiences like Lunar:SSSC or Shining Force: RoDD. Think of it as an upgrade if you must, but you have got to get out of this childish mentality that equates remakes as a waste of time.

I believe Lunar 1&2 were both ports, as was Grandia. Not remakes.

I don't see how you get off acting this spoiled and stupid, but if you're content with that, do it silently and leave the rest of us with our happiness.

If wanting something new and original is acting spoiled, *especially* on a system that said it was going to innovate gaming, then fine, I'm "spoiled".

Enjoy paying for the same game for the ..... sixth time now?

Do we really need a remake just for the novelty of hearing Cecil with a squeaky teenage voice? No.
If someone can't get past the graphics, fuck 'em. Let them miss out.
Don't waste time, money and resources just because someone is a graphics whore.
I'd rather see something new with a riff on the battle system than endless, *pointless* remakes.

So yeah, color me impressed. This isn't just a remake, it's like a whole new game.

Then why call it FF IV?
That's exactly why remakes are pointless. It's just cashing in on nostalgia.
4975  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Persona 4 next year? on: December 21, 2007, 10:33:11 AM
I'm fine with it coming out on PS2, especially if it boils down to a choice of PS2 or not at all.

And yeah, FES would be nice...but I'm not betting on it.

Are you surprised?  It's a proven fact; no one reads the actual site, only Joystiq.

Jesus Christ. I apologised already.

And to be fair to the guy, I'd rather get a range of opinions from people who have played it than base a purchase on one review.

I picked this up recently too, but haven't played it yet.

Because my boomark takes me to the forums and skips the front page. Sorry.

Joystiq is reporting Persona 4 to be released next year, possibly to tie into the upcoming anime. Also says it will be a PS2 release.

I Am Legend.

Not as bad as I expected, but what the hell was that ending?

Weak.
