For post-game/DLC, is min maxing necessary at all?

I was getting set to buy the game for $27 or whatever it is on Amazon, so Yes, it's worth signing up for PS plus for. Plus, the other features, games, etc.
It actually ended up only taking a couple hours to download. Then some more time to install.
It's a tad confusing at first because the game starts you out as if you've played before. Like your at the end of the journey. You play for 15 minutes, and then things get reset, and I got to pick my character and such.
I went with Strider
From the battles in the beginning it seems like a lot of fun. We'll see how it goes.

I believe the first part was supposed to be a prologue/training session, which I do not think the developers did a very good job of conveying.

Once you're at the end of the game however, these first events will make more sense.

The magic archer class (the advanced form of Stryder?) has auto lock.

Was thinking of picking this up, but I've never really played an MMORPG before, and don't have time to sink hours in everyday.

Most games of these type seem to be mostly about building the best DPS character you can and grinding for loot.

If you're not into that type of game, is it really for you?

You need a visa for Japan? What the hell?

Don't you need a visa to travel to the USA?

Not unless you're going to be staying for a while, working, going to school, etc.

I never beat Amalur, got through maybe 1/2 to 2/3rds of it. Even on the highest difficulty, it was too easy if you made use of crafting and smart gameplay.

If you bothered to do every quest available to you, you'd be more than enough leveled for anything thrown at you.

I'll give my thoughts so far after 6-7 hours in.

Reviewers and fans talked this game up as the second coming, but I'm not seeing why.
For a Wii port, I feel that Graces looks way better than Xillia, Xillia has sort of a muted look to it. The world design also has a bit of WRPG/MMORPG feel to it, large areas a lot of which is empty, not all NPCs are able to be talked to etc.

The combat feels a bit sluggish and slow.

The game is fun, but doesn't seem to have sucked me in as much as ToS or Vesperia did, while the combat is no where near addicting as Graces.

The "sphere grid' is more restrictive in practice than it is advertised as, you have to follow certain paths to expand it or open new artes.

I think Graces Titles system was one of the best gameplay mechanics in any JRPG, as it continuously drove me to try new things to open stat bonuses, extra artes, etc. Here, you just get Grade.

Thanks! I figured I was missing something.

My problem with auto Item is the AI behavior seems to only be on or off, you can't define how the auto Items should be used, unless I'm missing something.

Just started this up last night and put an hour or so in.

Does the camera drive anyone else nuts? I feel like I am constantly needing to swing the camera around so I don't get blind sided by the enemy.

In Terms of Tales Future Arc, once future is beaten, you can go back to the main game before the last boss, so anything you didn't complete in the regular game will be back, but yes, the game does segregate quests etc,

Bard's are essential in W7 as far as I'm concerned. The thing with putting an enemy to sleep is that you basically have a 100% hit chance against them, their defense is reduced WHILE they're asleep, and they're not going to be attacking you in the mean time. Yes, there's magic that sleeps enemies too, but early on it's a lot less accurate and more expensive.

I don't think I used a bard in W6 so maybe less necessary there, but still I can imagine them being super useful. You DO tend to have a higher base hit rate in W6, though, which helps.

Also I THINK Ninjas and Bards have some thief skills? You can eventually get the bard's thief skills higher, anyway.

Yeah, I ended up ditching my Thief in favour of another melee character. The Bard's low Skulduggery meant most doors were unable to be opened but thankfully that improved once I leveled up and added some more points to it. The Bards Music and Ninjutsu are rising steadily without me adding anything to them.

After playing the game for a decent bit, I am coming to really like it. So far I have only visited 3 out of the 4 tower rooms in the starting area(fourth is locked from the inside by some dude) Combat got really fun once I leveled up and got more abilities to use. Going to try to explore the lower levels next.

Are you using good old graph paper for mapping?

I'm surprised no one has made a simple app for this, the closest thing I've found is Ye Olde Map Maker, but is more designed for pen and paper dungeon master map design than a simple map maker.

Phase three Lucifer is causing me trouble in Devil Survivor. Three almighty attacks in a row just devastated my main attack party.

I have been thinking about getting Wizardry 8 from GoG. Saw some screenshots that really interested me. I have never played a wizardry game before. Also saw that 6+7 are connected somehow with 8. The two come together so I am wondering if I should get them first. They kind of give me a might and magic feeling although I have only played M&M 6 and 8.

Played Wiz 8 back in the day, only one I really ever played.

They are similar to Might and Magic series, but a bit more in depth and "hardcore". The storylines from 6 through 8 are more or less continuous, and you can carry your party through the whole way, but 6 and 7 are pretty archaic compared to today's standards. 6 doesn't even have an automap, and 7 does, but it's related to skill level.

How easy is it in Soul Hackers to screw yourself over with stat gains?

The main character gets no magic correct, so should everything go into Str, Agi, En?

It was more that I felt I was wandering around not sure what to do, then I finally initiate the first flash back.

At this point I wasn't sure if it was a tutorial or what, as it wasn't overly difficult or anything.

The loyalty system is a bit of a change, and I may need to actually slow combat message speed down as the attacks and what not fly by pretty quick for an RPG, especially when I told the demons to do what they want, I wasn't able to see what was going and then the next demon acted.

Also, is it possible to really screw yourself over with stat gains? I felt like having to choose stat points right after the first flash back when I actually hadn't controlled the main character yet was a bit unfair.
