I also saw Shutter Island. I pretty much agree with you Nuri, interesting and atmospheric, but hardly Scorsese's best. It kind of makes me wish he'd make some kind of war film; the Holocaust parts were beautifully shot.
And yeah, the ending. I didn't see it coming, maybe because it was so damn obvious. That was the weakest part of the film for me. The whole reveal could have been done in half the time.

I haven't seen Avatar yet, but I'm very interested in seeing it. As far as scripts go though...James Cameron always had a very "plain" style of writing IMO, for lack of a better word. I don't think a lot of people are going to walk into this expecting amazing writing. How does this compare to other James Cameron films?
At least if his sequels are anything to go by Avatars 2: Judgment Grey should be epic. That or he can finally get around to making that Battle Angel Alita movie (unless he's got more waters to test). Apparently Battle Angel Alita is a year into development, so it looks like it's happening.

The main thing I'd say if you go the breeder route is to do a lot of research. Resolutely here in the UK there's been a big movement against them, due to the high levels of inbreeding that lead to severe genetic diseases. Often the dogs suffer a lot in their lives, and will cost a fortune in vet bills. Of course, this isn't all breeders. Just be wary.
