Touch Detective -  I solved one case already (there are a total of 4 cases with a bonus stage).  I love the art style; it's freaky and cute all at the same time.  As for the cases, the one case I worked on was pretty zany (stolen dreams), so having to do weird stuff seems okay to me since the world and characters are all off the wall.

My god.  Why did I believe you?  I really did think it would be a feel good story.

You've been here long enough to know better than that. :P

Honestly, I thought you were showing the softer, gentler side of yourself.  Silly me.  :P

It depends on what kind of games you like.  I started off as a point and click adventure game player so this was right up my alley.  Personally I loved the game and I refuse to part with my copy.

545  The Rest / General Discussions / Wii pre-orders start tomorrow! on: October 26, 2006, 12:09:13 PM
I'm really looking forward to the Wii and I have no problem looking like a dork.  It's not like I'm going to be the only one looking like one while I'm playing.  Also I'm not going to play it with my curtains wide open so people can see me so I don't see what the big deal is.

I'm going to pick it up today and play it this week.  I'll let you guys know what I think.
547  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Anyone playing Baten Kaitos Origins? on: October 25, 2006, 12:03:06 PM
I own a copy but have yet to play it.  Right now with the deluge of RPGs, it has fallen onto the back burner.  I do plan on playing it before the end of the year.

I think Dice is the only one that has played/is playing it.  I think she too enjoyed it.

WA4
DDS2
Grandia III
Oblivion
Metal Saga (twice, but not really)
Atelier Iris 2: Azoth of Destiny
Shadow Hearts: From the New World
Kingdom Hearts II
Dragon Quest VIII
Devil Summoner

Adventure games:

Nancy Drew: Danger By Design
Touch Detective

Finished Devil Summoner at around 43 hrs.  It could have been finished sooner if I hadn't level grinded so much.  The game is the easiest of the SMT I have played.  I did die a couple times, but those deaths only occurred in the optional training hall where I did the 100 demon fights.  I mostly died because I wasn't paying attention to my health or my demon's health.  With careful monitoring, you shouldn't ever die.

The battle system isn't everyone's cup of tea.  I found it was murder on my arthritic hands but I kept playing since I loved the demon fusion part of the game.

Okay people, what's the verdict?  I was thinking of picking this one up tomorrow but I need to know opinions.  Thanks in advance.

552  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. the Soulless Army on: October 23, 2006, 12:58:17 PM
Some people have finished it at 20hrs.  I've been taking time to level up my demons, fuse them to get even better demons, and then level them up.  So yeah, a lot of my time has been spent in the training halls so my time isn't exactly representative of everyone else unless they are super anal about these things.  I'm in the last chapter and in the 43 hr mark.

Devil Summoner - I'm in the last episode and plan on wrapping this sucker up tonight. This game is killing my hands.  I must finish soon.

The whole running out of bullets thing doesn't really happen later in the game.  The store periodically sells bullet clips so you can carry 99 of a single type of bullet.  I usually save them for capturing demons and the boss fights.  Also later on, the demons will have more MP so they rarely run out.  You can always use chakra chips/drops/pots too.  Demons often drop the chips and drops.

I didn't find myself defending much at the begining.  But when you hit the boss fights, you find that it is useful.

Again, the A.I. of the demons vary.  Some I absolutely hate, while some are pretty useful.

Played Devil Summoner last night for a bit.  I did the 2nd 100 enemy battle thing.  I died a few times but beat it on my third try.  Luckily I saved since there was a freak power outage last night while I was playing.
