The history of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is now so complicated that every time I tell it I contradict myself, and whenever I do get it right I'm misquoted. So the publication of this omnibus edition seemed like a good opportunity to set the record straight--or at least firmly crooked.

WOOOOOO!

So i toyed around with the Beta last week, bought the game last night. Created a couple characters on Blightwood: Savorn (Slayer), Dade (Lancer), Caladan (Warrior), and Methos (Sorc).

Love the style, love the combat's constant action.

Okay i finally just got the MMO itch.....SWTOR isnt doing much for me, WoW was like being hooked on crack and Rift just seems very barren.

If I were to pre-order this, is there a beta that's currently going for more than a weekend? Not sure how much I will be playing on a regular basis (right now that is).

If you dig Batman, this is a pretty rad mashup of all the recent Batman movie trailers.......set to some voice over by Michael Caine's character from the Prestige....

BitTorrent is used for plenty of legit things, so it falls to law enforcement to shut down the actual USERS. Megaupload doesnt have that kind of shield, unfortunately.

Megaupload certainly can (er...well...could) be used for plenty of legitimate things.  Whether it actually was or not is a different story.

Comparing it to Bittorrent silly, though.  Bittorrent is a protocol.  An open and well-documented protocol with many clients that use it.  The actual hosting of torrents is completely separate from development of the protocol and clients that use the protocol.  No single entity controls Bittorent.  You can shutdown sites that host torrents and go after users, but that's about it.  Saying 'shut down Bittorrent' is like saying 'shut down FTP'.  It doesn't make any sense.

I think you missed my point....I was saying that Megaupload is screwed and rightly so because everything passes through their hands. When the law comes knocking, and there's an entity they can go after, they go after it. When it comes to BT services, it's then on the users.

Bought it yesterday.  Really fun.  Have a Sith Warrior up to 10 because the other Sith classes didn't really interest me.  People bag on the character creation but I thought it was pretty good.  Game runs smooth on high settings and things are fun, but I don't quite get how auto attack works.  It seems to swing once or twice then let up.  Not a big deal because I'm mashing the rage generating swing when low on rage anyway, but still curious.

Overall really enjoying it.

If I recall correctly, there isnt an auto-attack. It's all you.

I hate Kaiden, always complaining about his biotics hurting him because they're old and going boohoohoo woe is me.
Maybe I misunderstood the character, but now, whenever I see him, that's what I think.

I kill Kaiden for the sins of his father.  That father being the original Bioware sad sack of tears and lamentation, Carth from KOTOR.  When I first played Mass Effect and heard Carth's voice coming out of Kaiden's mouth and saying some eerily similar shit, I knew we weren't gonna get along. :P

Oh my god. Dan, you have officially confirmed WHY I hated him so much, and I didnt even realize it.

Fucking Carth......

Liz, all those places sound awful.

Vancouver and Victoria. Those are okay, because they're like a cooler version of Seattle. But it's still Canada :P

I wouldn't be surprised if they just trashed everything after the investigation and flipped everyone else the bird.

I think that's in their S.O.P. when it comes to taking down basically ANYTHING.

On the Megaupload topic. Eh I'm not happy the FBI are involved in this. At the very least you work with local entities and appeal to them. It sucks that legit users got shafted, but with the majority of users are using it for pirating shit, well....that sucks.

BitTorrent is used for plenty of legit things, so it falls to law enforcement to shut down the actual USERS. Megaupload doesnt have that kind of shield, unfortunately.

As soon as the investigation ends, the police are legally obligated to hand back over the seized evidence to its original owner.
No, they're not.

100% accurate:

http://www.pajiba.com/miscellaneous/the-department-of-homeland-security-has-shut-us-down.php

This site was shut down because ONE site on the same network was hosting kiddie porn, they got all  their shit taken (including a LOT of "intellectual property" (lolSOPA)) and still have yet to get it back. It's been 5 years since that happened.

Why does every outlet have a report about SWTOR right now that seems to illustrate BioWare isnt done with Content for SWTOR? All I read about the game right now is that they "have a lot more content coming....promise!"

This is strange to me. Of course they aren't done. Any person with any knowledge of MMOs should realize this. MMOs are NEVER a complete game when they come out. It has a basic framework to get the community going, then you build on it, tweak it, balance it, etc. SWTOR is going through the same growing pains WoW had (and avoiding a lot of the ones other MMOs have experienced).

I know a lot of this is probably driven by EA pushing Bioware to keep "selling" their product and keeping it relevant since they (EA) seem to freak out over every game not being a colossal blockbuster....but still....it's almost irresponsible to your stakeholders to tote this product as an instant WoW-killer. WoW has SEVEN years of lead-time; people need to stop freaking the fuck out. It's kind of irritating.

Edit:
Disclaimer: I havent played the official release, but did play through beta for several months. Once I'm back from vacation and work stuff evens out, I likely will jump on board. I've got a hankering for an MMO.
