Just about done the third nook in the gap series by Donaldson. Pretty good stuff, but nothing mind-blowing. I will continiue the series, though. Just read The Totally Geeky Guide to the Princess Bride. For folks who take the movie a bit too seriously. I love the movie, and enjoy the writings of Mary Ann Johanson, so I knew what to expect. I also recently aquired The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. This should be interesting.

Hell, I had no idea Christian was an English Welshian either! Every movie I've ever seen him in he's sounded american. American Psycho = Gold.
Unforgiven - Another "classic" movie that I didn't like as much as I expected to. The premise simply didn't work for me. Why would he risk everything for some cut up whore he doesn't even know? This was in my head the whole movie. It still worked as a character study, which I imagine was the whole point.
Nan brought home some low budget horror movie called "The Damned". It was so awful, that it was almost enjoyable. I found myself laughing quite a bit. Tonight, we feed!

My name is on the door of my office. I wonder why "door" wasn't one of the options. Anyway... I am a Project Manager for a Landscape company. It is a great job with a great company. Simple as that.

Suikoden V - I am now in the Ceras(Sindar?) Ruins. For some reason, this area seems a lot harder than the previous areas. Enemies are really kicking my ass. What the hell?! Too damn expensive to buy the best armor for everybody, and the exp sytem in this game normally keeps everything leveled out. I feel like I'm missing something here.

Anyone around here(Dag?) read this book? I had no idea this was even in the making until I saw it on the shelf at the bookstore this past weekend. I was excited to see a new book with the original companions(especially Raistlin), BUT... I wonder if it's any good, or just another way to milk the cow. Comments?

I never heard of this game until a few days ago, but after all the comments here, and reading Gamespots review, have now decided that I must play it. Sounds great. I will seek it out asap.

Well, look what this thread has turned into. A virtual Rpgfan lovefest! We sure are great, aren't we? *Only sorta sarcastic* Hell, I wouldn't have stuck around for so long for no good reason. Sure, I don't post a whole lot anymore, but I check the boards pretty much everyday. A fine little community it is. I know I shouldn't find that baby cannon pic amusing, but I do. Ash, I just noticed your sig. Made me laugh. Thanks for that.
Carry on with the virtual masturbation...(Now THAT was a thread...) ; - )

2001: A Space Odyssey
This movie just bored and confused me. Considering all the praise it's gotten over the years I was expecting something a bit more...watchable? interesting? I don't know. Then again, I'm not much of a Kubrick fan.

When I played it, I DID enjoy it. I attribute this mainly to the awesome soundtrack. Great music can truly make a mediocre game a much better experience, at least for me. Makes me sad how absent great music is in modern games. Probably one of the reasons for my declining interest in games in general.

Saw two movies over the weekend: Hostel - The only good thing about this movie was all the naked chicks. I wasn't scared even once. The torture stuff, while certainly bothersome when imaginng it happening to you, just didn't work for me. Simply put... this was not a good movie.
Scarface - Always wanted to see this. Now I have. Yay, or something. Lots of damn obvious lessons to be learned from this one, huh? I wouldn't call this a great movie, but it was entertaining, if a TAD over the top. Never understood Tonys desire for Elvira. Could a girl be any more boring? I guess she was just part of his "The world belongs to you" ambitions.

Every time a picture thread comes up I realize that there are no pics of me being taken. This is mainly because I am the master of the camera, and it is rare for someone else to be taking pictures. This is as close to a picture of me as I could find. My wife took this in June at a local park district zoo type place: Obviously, I'm the guy on the right staring at who knows what. The little fellow is my son, Benjamin. I wear hats all the time. Due to my massively receding hairline, I shave my head(looks better that way) and want to avoid a horrible sunburn. Nothing worse than a burnt head. I need to get my wife to take a normal pic of me someday.

Suikoden V - Damn, has this game picked up or what? All sorts of stuff going on. I'm really enjoying it right now. What the fuck? Ferid and the queen? Dead? No scene or explanation or anything? I am bothered by this. I wonder if they really are dead at all. I liked Ferid a lot. I am bummed I am now in Rainwall(?) with the Barrows. About to fight my first army battle. Good stuff.

Suicide Kings - I liked this movie for the most part. I kinda figured it out about halfway through, but I wasn't sure. Christopher Walken was good, as always. Didn't like the ending, though. The movie seemed confused about whether it wanted to be light-hearted or serious. [/code]

FINALLY watched FF VII: Advent Children Technically, this was not a good movie. At all. From a geek perspective, though, I mostly enjoyed it. I liked how they used the music from the game throughout. I liked all the FF references. The CG was great. Most of the action scenes were well done, if not a bit TOO intense. Sometimes I couldn't even tell what was going on. The "alley-oop" sequence was goddamn stupid and almost ruined the movie for me. Several things I had comments and questions on, but I'll look up the Advent thread for those. If it's still around somewhere.
