Uncharted - Just started Chapter 17. I am wondering how much longer this will go(Don't tell me!). I'm guessing 20. Wish I could play this in bigger chunks of time. I hate to stop the momentum. I also wish you could carry more than 2 guns! Then again, I suppose that adds to the tension.

I am AMAZED at how quickly some of you folks play through games. It just boggles my mind. I WISH I had that kind of time to dedicate to gaming.
I asked my wife for this for Christmas. I imagine I'll be playing it up until the release of FF XIII. This completely ignores the release of ME2 in January.
Perhaps I should use some of those vacation days...

The Incredible Hulk - This turned out better than I expected. Ed Norton is always good, and he made a decent Bruce Banner. I thought Tim Roth was an odd choice as his nemesis, but he seemed to be enjoying the part. The CG effects weren't the greatest, especially in the slow parts. The action scenes, especially the final battle, were pretty damn awesome. I put this right below Iron Man, which isn't a bad place to be.

Rachel Getting Married - Wow, Anne Hathaway was amazing in this. Now, I would not normally watch any movie having anything to do with weddings, but this felt different. The way it was filmed, it felt like I was actually a guest at this thing.  I was totally uncomfortable during certain scenes. Very well done.

Odd pairing of movies there, huh?

Haha crap, I didn't know you were 35 bro. My bad. :P
Ha! No worries, man. Pure coincidence.

2255  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Dante's Inferno on: November 16, 2009, 11:59:14 AM
Hmmm. I don't recall learning about Dante in school, let alone ever reading anything by him. I just learned a few bits and pieces from the ole interwebnet. By Meshs logic I am either 12, or I have never left my house. I am nowhere near 12(35 actually) and I leave my house on a routine basis. Sorry man, but your putting off a distinctly Gen-like vibe in this thread.
Not that I want to defend Mr. Nails or anything...
As far as the game goes, if it IS like GoW or DMC then I am a little interested. I'll wait for reviews before going any further.

I rarely play FPSes but I am officially intrigued by this game. Is there a continuing story between this and the first MW? Should I play that one first?
2257  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: looking forward to any holiday releases? on: November 13, 2009, 09:24:42 AM
Generally, what I want is already out (Uncharted 2, Dragon Age) or not out til next year (Mass Effect 2, FF XIII)
Plus, there's always those games that come out of nowhere and get added to the list. We'll see.
2258  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Famitsu announces a new Lufia (Estpolis) game on: November 13, 2009, 09:20:09 AM
I tell ya. I will always be disturbed by the comments involving bodily fluids.

Anyway, I loved the first Lufia for the SNES. I remember playing 2 for a bit and stopping because it seemed to be too puzzled based. I'd probably like it more now.
Never played another Lufia after those; apparently for the better. Still...I'll keep my eye on this.
2259  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Clash of the Titans Teaser Trailer on: November 12, 2009, 04:19:00 PM
Yeah, not sure about this one. I loved the original with Harry Hamlin. I was pretty young when I first saw it and was freaked out by the whole Medusa sequence. Add in Chimeras, witches, pegasus, greek gods,  not to mention a giant sea monster, and you've got a good time.
I am skeptical.
2260  Media / The Soundroom / Re: Video Game concerts ... are you into it? on: November 11, 2009, 12:26:31 PM
I live in the Chicago area and was considering going to the Distant Worlds Concert. My brother wanted to go to, but he has no money, and I'm not going to pay for the both of us. My wife sure as hell isn't interested in going. lol. Plus the tickets were pretty expensive, and I started wondering if it would really be worth it.
Still, some time or another I would like to attend one of these.

I wasn't getting mad, just expressing my opinion. I tend to do this on most things. This brain makes me do it!
When something doesn't seem to make sense I can't help but comment, regardless of the topic at hand.
You can't see it under the hood, but I really am smiling.

Uncharted - played up to the beginning of Chapter(?) 13 last night. Holy shit, that jet ski ride was crazy. The first time I rode one a few chapters ago, it wasn't too bad. Throw in raging rapids, and the wonky controls really stand out. I have yet to contribute to the "sick" thread, but all that bumping and weaving starting making me nauseous after awhile.
and then...
Code:
WTF? Sully is alive? and working with the other guy? Not cool.
2263  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: RPGFan Game Journal XX - Sharpened Pencil Midnight Bathouse on: November 09, 2009, 01:43:57 PM
Well, Uncharted is basically just "Platforming section -> Shootout -> Platforming section -> Shootout" and anybody who told you otherwise was lying.  That said, it's the high level of quality in both of those sections that made that game fantastic.

And who cares if you're getting "official" trophies that you can show off?  As long as you're getting the mini ones that give you direct in-game rewards I don't think it should matter either way.

Yeah, yeah, I realize the insignificance of trophies and such. But have you SEEN how barren that box down there looks? lol. Plus, the in game rewards do not interest me. Just like movies, I have no real interest in all the "making of" and "behind the scenes" stuff.  Ruins the illusion of the game and/or movie for me.

The game is exactly what you say it is, and yet that's not the vibe I got from the reviews and comments I read beforehand.
I'm totally enjoying the game. I was just expecting a bit more variety(read: less action, more puzzles).

Uncharted - Just started Chapter(?) 10.
I wonder about the trophy system for this game. The first time I played it, I was not online and didn't have the trophy support update installed. A few days later, I DLed the update. It's still not giving me trophies(despite finding 20 relics so far), though. I'm going to go ahead and assume that I screwed up by not getting the update upon first starting. I would probably have to start a whole new game if I wanted trophies. Am I right? If so, that sucks.
Anyway, enjoying the game very much. Getting better at aiming, but still get tired of the excessive shootouts.
