Then there was Genis from Tales of the Abyss. I always thought it was a boy. Then I saw several people referring to it as a girl. Conversations of late seem to have gone back to Genis being male. ???
Oh! Harle from Chrono Cross. I was confused when I first saw the character. male? female? transexual? regardless, it was a person in a ridiculous clown-like getup so I instantly hated them. Almost as much as Kid.

Yeah, I was thinking about getting this. I never beat the first two because the games are simply too hard for me( I loved them anyway). I have yet to buy the third one, but I want to. I imagine III will go down in price now, but I may just want to get the whole shebang. I look forward to your opinion.

Oh, I agree. I couldn't imagine this stuff being performed in a serious manner. Works perfectly for the type of game it is. Problems arise when this style is used (on purpose or not) for a game in which it totally does not belong.

It sounds odd, but I would feel bad if I always skipped the spoken dialogue. Like I'm disrespecting the actor or something.
I don't skip anything, written or spoken.
Then again, as my gaming time dwindles, I am very particular about what I play, and don't run in to many situations where I would consider skipping anything.
Heck, I'm playing Devil May Cry 4 now. It has terrible writing, and campy acting, but I watch it anyway.

Still playing DMC4 - on mission 15. Not big on backtracking through levels already done with Nero, but whatever.
I'm reading good things about Shadow Complex. Started up a trial download, but it was taking too long so I stopped it. I'll finish it up tonight or tomorrow. All the Metroid comparisons have me intrigued.

Will some please explain what the hell a "rogue-like" game is? I'm tired of hearing that term. Are we talking dungeon crawlers here?

Devil May Cry 4 - Mission 12. Now I've got Dante to kick ass with. I actually really liked how Nero controlled, so it may take a little time to get used to using Dante. Either way, the game continues to kick ass, despite the bizarre attempt at a story.
I've got my copy of Vesperia staring at me, so that's next after DMC. I think. I may want to play something less action-oriented in between.

Sweet!  It's still $300 smackers, but I'm not waiting any longer now. OK, so I suppose I DO have to wait until Sept., but that's ok.

DMC4 - I'm about to do mission 11. Unless I'm playing on easy these games have always kicked my ass, so I was worried when an easy mode didn't pop up. There's only human and demon(devil? something with a d) modes. I haven't had much trouble at all on human so far.
I just love beating the crap out of everything with crazy combos. I'm really impressed with the graphics, too. Too bad the music is either boring bgm or crappy grunge rock. oh well.

Watched Zack and Miri make a porno Sat. night. Nowhere near as funny as I was hoping for. Plus, the whole "let's be crude for the sake of being crude" thing just doesn't work for me(anymore?). Someone needs to tell Kevin Smith that crude does not equal funny. Then you have the uber-predictable ending.

I actually liked Rinoa, and will never understand the hate. Then again, I don't remember a damn thing she said. It was more about her look.
Heck, I liked Aeris, too.
I don't remember Alfina from Grandia III.
I found Shion a little annoying, but it really didn't bother me.

The only one I can think of is Kid from Chrono Cross. Mainly due to being named Kid. Awful character.
