I'd really rather not hear about any females having such mishaps. In my delusional world, women are not capable of such things.
Cinnamon and spice, and everything nice, ya know?

NEWSFLASH: Women pee and poop and fart.

I RUINED YOUR FANTASY. I'm such a ho. :|

We also give birth, menstruate and wax our body hair. Nightmaaaare.

Not cool, ladies. Not cool AT ALL.

Its about time we had another bodily function failure thread on this forum (perhaps we were a bit overdue).

However I'm all for gender equality and the next time someone feels the urge to make another one of these threads so I have to ask if it would be too much to ask for if one of you can find a story of a female making God cry next time?

Seriously, haven't we had enough stories of guys trying to weed themselves out of the gene-pool through self-mutilation? Because, I'm pretty sure this site has covered the gamut of every willful emasculation save for getting your junk caught in the kitchen sink's disposal mechanism.

Yeah, it's saddening. She was a gorgeous and charming actress in the films that I saw her in. She'll be in "The Expendables" next year so hopefully it will be good.
Not to disrespect the dead, but "gorgeous and charming"? I think not. I always thought she looked like a coke addict.
I can't even think of anyone I would describe as gorgeous.
Kate Beckinsale? Monica Belluci? Jennifer Connelly(before she starved herself)
I don't know

Valkyria Chronicles - God, I love this game so far. I am now in Chapter 6. I was so pissed when I played the chapter 5 battle and ended up losing. It was own my dumb ass fault, and I found myself daydreaming about how I would play the battle the next time. Changed tactics and completely kicked ass the second time.
I love that you have to really strategize with this game. You can't just march your troops in and destroy everything. The game will hand you your ass.
Good stuff.
I'm pretty sure the wife got me Dragon Age for Christmas, so it's going to be a battle over what to play.

This is sounding pretty damn awesome to me. I have no problems at all with linearity, the omission of towns, or anything else mentioned. I'm all for a cinematic ride of an rpg. If I'm in the mood for non-linearity and towns, I'll play something else. I always approach each FF(and every game I play) as it's own entity. No use comparing it to the others. People will always look for things to complain about. Too bad for them.

Valkyria Chronicles - Only in Chapter 4, but I continue to be impressed. I wasn't expecting this much story, as well as details on the characters and the world itself. As long as it doesn't get too overwhelming, I'll be happy. Good stuff.

Valkyria - I haven't been able to play much, but I'm liking quite a bit what I have played. I just got to the main city where you get to put together your army and such. This game is quality all around so far.

Star Trek - This was pretty entertaining, but it felt more like a a bunch of action scenes with a small bit of story, rather than a good story supported by some action scenes. The movie looked fantastic, with some really great sfx. I thought Chris Pine did a great job with Kirk. I did not much like the Leonard Nimoy parts, as it felt interjected just to make the fanboys happy.
The sequel has the potential to be awesome if they pick the right villain(s) and pass on the homages to the past.

Beat Uncharted.
Code:
Chapter 22 was a bitch. Even on easy! Took me numerous deaths to figure how to do it. Then the final confrontation with ...um...that guy. I died a lot
Great game. Took me awhile to get used to the shootouts(No lock on! I'm a pansy!),but overall I really enjoyed it. Can't wait to play the sequel, although I WILL wait, as I would rather play some other games in between.
Valkyria is up next.

Uncharted - Chapter 19: WTF?!
Code:
So now all of a sudden we have...monsters? wtf are these things? Damn fast, and can kill me easily if I let them get too close. This game has suddenly become all survival-horror-like. I got my ass kicked numerous times before figuring out how these things act. Made it to the generator room with the two "switches" or whatever in the side rooms. I thought I had the third wave cleared when more of them showed up. I went to turn around, ran right into a friggin wall, and one of them got me. Game started me back at the first wave, and I said "fuck it" for the night.

Code:
You don't need to kill them though, all you got to do is run and shoot (without aiming), that's why the only guns there are the machine guns :P

Code:
Yeah, I checked gamefaqs after realizing that the things weren't going to stop coming back. Considering the rest of the game had areas with a set amount of enemies, you can understand why I didn't catch on right away.
In chapter 21 now, btw.
2276  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Games you will be getting next year? on: November 20, 2009, 03:56:08 PM
Hmmm. Maybe a little game called Mass Effect 2. I imagine it might sell a few copies.
; - )

Alpha Protocol - wasn't this originally supposed to come out this Fall? What's it scheduled for now?
FFXIII

Everything else is up in the air until reviews come out.

I responded on FB, so I'll just copy that here:

Good write-up there. From the very beginning I made it a point to very rarely be playing games around my son. I pretty much only play at night after he's gone to bed anyway, so this wasn't a big deal. Despite my "efforts", I now have an 8 year old who loves to play the DS, Wii, and some multi-player games on the 360. Thing is, though...I'm a bit of a walking contradiction, as I am also a gardener, and love to be outdoors. On any given day it is far more likely you'll find me outside than in. For awhile, my son was the same way. He would spend lots of time with me out in the garden, learning about plants, bugs, nature. Now it seems he would much rather be inside playing games.
I actually really enjoy playing 2-player games with him now, and see it as another form of bonding. Like those dads who toss a ball around with their kid. I guess we'll see where it all goes, but it's always good to hear about other parents going through the same situation.

2279  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: I have a question about Phantasy Star II (Don't worry, no spoilers here) on: November 19, 2009, 01:50:49 PM
There are 3 boss battles in Phantasy Star II.  4 if you count the unwinnable one.

Ok thank you. But despite having so few bosses, this is still a good game to play, right?

You made a mistake playing 4 first. It is far more accessible and a just plain better game(minus a few things I won't go into)
II is a total grindfest, and almost unplayable compared to modern rpgs. I loved it when it first came out, but I wouldn't go near it now. If you don't mnid the grind, and tough dungeons, go for it. I did love the setting, and overall feeling of the game. Plus, the music is pretty good, too.

Uncharted - Just started Chapter 17. I am wondering how much longer this will go(Don't tell me!). I'm guessing 20. Wish I could play this in bigger chunks of time. I hate to stop the momentum. I also wish you could carry more than 2 guns! Then again, I suppose that adds to the tension.
