MGS4 - I am now in Act 5:
Code:
What the hell? So Raiden comes back and holds back a giant fucking battleship single-handedly?! I realize he's become some kind of cyborg thing, but come on now. And what the hell is the deal with Akiba? Trying to grope Mei Ling?(not that I blame him) I wonder if we'll ever find out what's up with this guy.
I'm ready to finish this. Maybe tonight. That would be good, as tomorrow is my birthday, and the wife is probably getting me a game.

MGS4 - This game has a way of taking a turning a (proposed in my head)30 minute play session into an hour and a half. I have to get up too early(5:30) in the morning to be up til 11:30 or 12.
Anyway. Looks like I'm about to end Act 4:
Code:
I made it to the point where you are fighting Liquid in giant robots. Bad ass! I had to force myself to to turn it off. It took me forever to beat Vamp because I suck at CQC. Had to have "killed" him over 20 times before finally getting it right.
Then we have the Naomi stuff, which totally confuses me. There's no real explanation as to why she turned traitor(or was all along) She even continues to fawn over Vamp as he is dying. Snake should have killed her on sight. Too hot for that, I guess.

MGS4 - I am now in Act 4
Code:
That was a helluva long cut scene at the end of Act 3. What the hell is up with Miss Bitch Naomi? Ugh. Then to see Liquid kicking Snakes ass. Not cool.
It was also weird to be greeted by the original MGS at the beginning of Act 4. Fond memories of the game flooded my mind. I think I know how this is all going to turn out, but the game has really gotten me feeling Snakes pain. Poor guys been through a hell of a lot.
I'm also thinking that there is a lot of boss battles to come, in a very short amount of time. At least 4, maybe 5. We'll see.

Trick R Treat- It was OK. The look and feel was pure Halloween, and I liked that. They completely misused the sack boy dude. Or maybe I missed something. who knows. Still, I did enjoy it, when compared to the amount of crappy horror movies I've seen.

Dude, Jennifer Hale is EVERYwhere. IMDB her.
I hear this game pulls a fast one and turns into a strategy game after awhile. Sounds odd.

MGS4 is good, but it's not AMAZING. I'm now in act 3 doing some annoying "find this guy and follow him" thing. I lost the guy in the courtyard area with the helicopter. Ugh.
I don't have much patience anymore for sneaking around.
2287  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: Uncharted 2 on: October 14, 2009, 02:25:06 PM
I just got my PS3 a couple weeks ago, and have yet to play the first one(besides the demo, anyway). I want to play that first. Plus, I have too many other games to catch up on.
As great as it sounds, it'll be a while before I get to it.  I'll probably end up getting this a year from now when it's $30.

downloaded the demo for the original Uncharted. I am a bit let down after playing it. The game looks good. It controls fairly well(the sixaxis stuff threw me for a loop). But so far it's just been one big shootout. This is made worse by the fact that I suck at this type of game play, especially without any type of lock on. Might as well be playing an FPS. Perhaps someone can reassure me that there is more to this game, and that the demo was just trying to appeal to the action crowd?
I want puzzles and exploration. I want friggin' Indian Jones.
2289  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Demon's Souls on: October 09, 2009, 03:25:41 PM
I am intrigued by this game, but have zero intention of playing it due to the much talked about difficulty. When John(Keeper X) even stresses the difficulty of a game, I take notice. He is superhuman when it comes to games. The man will finish a game in 13 hours that might take me 40. Thing is, he doesn't go around claiming that all these games are easy, and inferring that everyone else is a pansy ass for not doing the same.
Gen, obviously you are very good at games. Or at least you have a lot of time to be able to get good at them. We get it. Some of us will never be as good due to just plain sucking(me) and/or time constraints(me and I'm sure many others).
It may or may not be intended, but you come off as having a "holier than thou" attitude. If you could just dial it down a notch, that would be great.

note: Sorry eds. I'll be quiet now.

MGS4 -
Code:
I know this is just wrong to say, but DAMN Naomi is hot. I would say she qualifies for hottest video game gal ever.
anyway...
I get bored when they start yapping about nano-machines and other bio-gibberish.
Beat the Octo-machine girl. Feel bad for Snake. I wonder if he'll off himself or not.
Now I have to "track" Naomi. No problem there.
2291  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Project: Find something new in your town. on: October 08, 2009, 10:13:22 AM
My town is actually pretty big(Pop: 140,000+) so I know there's all sorts of things I'm missing out on.
I've been doing more and more biking, which I find to be a great way to explore and see the city.
I've discovered that my city has all sorts of bike trails, including a 20 mile loop that connects several forest preserves. I've biked through some of it, and look forward to seeing the rest.
Fall is awesome for biking.

MGS4 - Should probably just code the whole thing:
Code:
So now we have The colonel bangin' Rose, who was the annoying girlfriend of Raiden from MGS2. Not bad. Then I get Raiden/Jack calling me. This can only be bound for tragedy.
I want to fight a boss of some sort. The boss encounters have always been my favorite part of the MGS games. I get tired of sneaking around.

played the demo of Valkyria Chronicles and loved it. Kinda makes me think of it as a next gen Shining Force. I would buy it right now, but the wife may be getting it for me for my birthday, so I have to wait.
2294  Media / Anime, TV, and Movies / Re: Recently Viewed Movies Episode 2: The Vampire Bites Back on: October 05, 2009, 10:48:31 AM
Deadgirl - Well, that was different. I was having a hard time buying into the actions of everyone involved. Sure, some of it is plausible(I DO remember my teen years), but full suspension of common sense must be done in order to get anything out of this movie.
Plus, so many things go unexplained. Frustrating.
2295  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: New Information about Final Fantasy XIII on: October 03, 2009, 10:30:21 AM
wow. That new trailer revealed so much more than I had known before. Actually, I think it reveals a bit too much. This seems pretty damn epic, and after this I will no longer be watching these things. Less I know the better.
Looks and sounds amazing to me. The voices work fine. Not perfect, of course, but they all seem to fit the characters.
