Beat Devil May Cry 4. I had a blast with the game, despite the overuse of bosses and repeating levels. Tons of fun.

I'm really not sure about what to play next. I've got Tales of Vesperia to play, but I'm not sure I'm in the mood for another goofy jrpg.
Ditto for Lost Odyssey
Maybe I'll play FF: TAY

I WANT to pick up a PS3 and play some of those games. Soon enough...

What the hell is that? Some lame attempt at comedy? Satire? I'm confused.
I used to love the GIA.

Didn't pretty much everyone on the face of the earth own a PS2? And wouldn't those who really wanted to play GoW I & II have already done so? I mean, seriously, how many people are getting PS3s that never had a PS2? That can't possibly be that high of a #. Plus, these 2 were pretty amazing looking when I played them. I see no reason to spend $40 just so they can look a bit more amazing.

...and I have a job back home lined up for me in the summer. It gets me about 3k a year.
Mesh wins the thread!

OK, seriously, you are one bizarre fellow. I mean that in a nice way! I always enjoy your posts, even if I only understand half of what you are talking about. You need to be writing a column for a newspaper/website/somebody.

Other M looks like the Metroid game I was hoping for prior to the Prime games. It better be awesome.

Eusis just said they made the games easier.

More specificallly the GameCube difficulties were made Veteran, while Normal is a new, easier mode. Possibly TOO easy so far in the case of MP1, I'll probably just replay that on Veteran.
You just sold me on getting it. Ok, I was going to anyway, but the thought of actually maybe possibly finishing a Metroid game is exciting! (Wait, I did beat Zero mission)

I agree with you on doctors, my opinions have changed so much, if you don't fit the typical criteria, I find they have a hard time thinking outside the box.

Some docs just seem like shills for the drug companies. No, I do not want to try yet another medication that will not work. They just want to move you along to get to the next one. Or so it seems.

All I want is to wake up and feel good in the morning and have the energy and ability to do the things I want to do.

Exactly! I have good and bad days, but to just be done with it all would be so awesome.

No, I most definitely do not hate my life. I may hate certain circumstances I have found myself in, but never my life in general.
I have a wife of ten years that, dare I say, I am more in love with now than ever. I have an 8 year old son who is a great kid and doesn't cause any trouble. I have a good job doing something I love, that also pays me well enough to be comfortable.
What has been keeping me from enjoying my life more the past couple years is an endless string of health problems. I have been back and forth to so many doctors these past two years, it is unreal. The frustrating thing is that no one can figure out whats wrong with me. I feel like I belong on that Mystery Diagnosis show that my wife watches. I've had countless blood tests, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasounds, scopes up and down. Plus numerous prescriptions. None of it has solved anything.
My opinion on doctors has gone so downhill through all this.
It sucks knowing there is something wrong with you, but not knowing what it is or how to fix it.
Anyway...
Thanks for giving me a place to talk about it. The only one I discuss these things with is my wife. The rest of my family doesn't even know.
Thanks also to everyone above for contributing. It's amazing how you forget(or just don't consider) that everyone has a real life outside of the Fan.

I think he was talking about Ion. Ion is male, but everything he does and says contradicts this.
Nope. Not talking about Ion. Although, he is perfect for this conversation. Thought he was a girl for awhile there.

I really wish these games had some sort of easy or casual mode for them. I played both 1 and 2, but only made it about 2/3rd through until having to stop due to difficulty. I just want to enjoy the gameplay, music, graphics, etc. without getting my ass kicked.
2351  Media / Miscellaneous Games / Re: God of War I and II Blu-ray compilation for the PS3 on: September 01, 2009, 09:49:15 AM
I freaking loved these games, but I think this release is pointless. At least for someone who has already played through them. Now, if they included Chains of Olympus...THEN I would be all over it. I refuse to buy a psp for one or two games.
2352  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Characters with unknown genders on: September 01, 2009, 09:21:23 AM
Quina. Seriously, the hell is that thing?
My thoughts exactly.
Then there was Genis from Tales of the Abyss. I always thought it was a boy. Then I saw several people referring to it as a girl. Conversations of late seem to have gone back to Genis being male. ???
Oh! Harle from Chrono Cross. I was confused when I first saw the character. male? female? transexual? regardless, it was a person in a ridiculous clown-like getup so I instantly hated them. Almost as much as Kid.
; - )

My shiny new copy of Metroid Prime Trilogy arrived today.  There's no going back to the Gamecube versions now, I can fucking well assure you of that. :P
Yeah, I was thinking about getting this. I never beat the first two because the games are simply too hard for me( I loved them anyway). I have yet to buy the third one, but I want to. I imagine III will go down in price now, but I may just want to get the whole shebang. I look forward to your opinion.

I love the campiness of the voices in Devil May Cry. Lightens the mood, I find.
Oh, I agree. I couldn't imagine this stuff being performed in a serious manner. Works perfectly for the type of game it is. Problems arise when this style is used (on purpose or not) for a game in which it totally does not belong.
regardless, I force myself to watch it all. For shame!
2355  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: I am....ashamed..but admitting...! on: August 26, 2009, 03:28:01 PM
It sounds odd, but I would feel bad if I always skipped the spoken dialogue. Like I'm disrespecting the actor or something.
I don't skip anything, written or spoken.
Then again, as my gaming time dwindles, I am very particular about what I play, and don't run in to many situations where I would consider skipping anything.
Heck, I'm playing Devil May Cry 4 now. It has terrible writing, and campy acting, but I watch it anyway.
