I'm wrapping up a classic Planet of the Apes marathon tonight.  May watch the TV show after this, probably not.  Still cheesy, Roddy McDowell is still a good dude, but I hadn't realized before now that the first three or four movies all end in a way that clearly says "OK, we're done with this series, no sequels." It's not until the second to last that one ends in a way that sets up a sequel.

Single-Player RPGs / Re: Reccommend me some PS4 games!

For RPGs, other folks have given some good stuff already, but I'll plug our own Reviews page, which you can sort by score:
http://www.rpgfan.com/reviews-ps4.html

Several of them have been featured on our Twitch channel if you want to watch videos before you buy.

In terms of non-RPGs, I definitely recommend inFamous: Second Son.  You don't have to play its predecessors first. In fact, the first game's pretty rough in comparison at this point, so I would only recommend going back and playing it if you decide you LOVE the series. :)

We've run into an issue with the forums where threads with an apostrophe think you're trying to hack us if you have an apostrophe in your post as well.  To allow you to continue posting here, I've edited the thread's title to be "What are the haps?" instead of "What's the haps?"  Sorry for the trouble.  And the "fellow kids" feel of the new title. :)

I think I've gotten the common threads where this happens, but please let me know if you run into any other threads that need adjusted.

(Sorry to hear about your week, Klutz, that does sound pretty terrible. Hope things look up soon.)

We have been getting that in the staff forums as well, but only in specific topics.  It appears to happen when a thread's topic has an apostrophe and also your post has one.  We're not sure why it just started happening this week.

We're talking about upgrading the forums, which the error message appears to suggest would resolve the issue, but I know that there's some testing required.

In the meantime, sorry for the trouble - I'll adjust the thread names to remove the apostrophes, and that should take care of it.

Life was not kind to Scott yesterday, and he was unable to make it as a result.  Then we had a miscommunication on making a post about that fact, so that didn't happen...

Our sincere apologies if you sat there waiting for a long time. I know you in particular are a faithful viewer, and we don't want to waste people's time.

Congrats on the book!  Cool to know your name's next to something out there in Audible that a bunch of people will probably listen to.

The discussion has been pretty civil so far, but please don't get into attacking people too hard.  We're not a politics forum, and I don't think we want to be one.  Those who supported the losing side are going to be grieving for this loss for a long time.  Some folks will never get over it.

And everyone grieves in their own way, so folks who need to say things like "everything will be OK in the end," please understand that other folks are going to see that as you not caring about or truly understanding the depth of their problems.

And folks who need time to process and think and plan, please cut those other folks some slack.  They are likely taking this pretty hard as well, they just deal with it in a different way than you.

Folks who supported the winning side, please be gracious in victory and understand that this is a pretty divided country right now.  The folks I was just talking about are pretty scared and angry right now, and scared/angry people lash out.

And above all, please nobody literally kill yourself over this.  I know that is a very real risk.  But remember that even if it feels like there's an almost zero chance of fixing things right now, there's an actually zero chance you can help fix things if you're gone.

I really liked seeing Marisa Tomei and RDJ flirting - it was cute.

What I read is that they initially wanted Spider-Man to be in the movie a lot, and Black Panther a little.  But they had those licensing issues to work out, and by the time they for sure did, they had already changed it to be the other way around.

I definitely agree with your assessment, Dice.

I just watched the made for TV version of Once Upon a Mattress starring Tracey Ullman as the princess and Carol Burnett as the queen.  It's a fun show, and those two are, as always, perfect for their roles.  Carol Burnett originated the princess role in the play, and she would have been perfect for that role back in the day.

Actually, looks like the 1964 TV version with Carol Burnett as the princess is on YouTube - I should watch that one when I have time.

Biscuits can only be served with white gravy.  Anything else is blasphemy/Thanksgiving dinner.

I think my current favorite garbage food is breakfast burritos.  Like the ones from McDonalds.
