I thought that didn't come out until next week...

Finished off the Planet of the Apes series.  Planning to buy Zombieland next week when it comes out.

Spent a fair amount of time last weekend re-watching the Planet of the Apes series.  Can't remember right now if I got through 3 or 4.  Still got the TV series to go when I'm done, though. :D

(Have I mentioned that I have terrible taste?  At least I don't like the remake!)
1894  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: How long do you play games a day? on: January 25, 2010, 10:10:05 AM
Depends on the day of the week.  I travel, so I'm only home three days a week.  I wake up before my wife those days, though, and play between 2 and 4 hours until she does.  It's my only home console time.  I generally play some casual stuff on my iPod Touch while I'm waiting for things later in the day - like if I order takeout and it's not ready yet - but not hours and hours.  During the week while I'm away from home, I probably put in another 1 or 2 hours on portable platforms (again, these days it's mostly my iPod, although I've been hitting Torchlight on PC lately too) while I'm sitting around the hotel at night with nothing to do.  Sounds glamorous, no?

It's fairly likely that I play games more than I should, but I realized that a long time ago and decided that since there's no way I was going to change that, I might as well use it.  That's why I write about games for this site, and for another before I started here.  I've got just as much social life as I want, but I'm 34, so I'm probably not looking for the same level of social life you would be.

In that case, stick with the blue shirt!

...I tell you, 90% of the time any movie based on a book, the book is better...

I may have said this here before, but my rule of thumb is always that if the book comes first, the book's better.  If the movie comes first, the movie's better.  There are a very few exceptions, but they're few and far between.  (One that's NOT an exception, even though it might seem to be, is The Princess Bride.  As great as the movie is, the book's even better, and the book came first.)

Of course, if someone is ignoring you... they wouldn't see your post here, right?

Book of Eli really looks to me like "Fallout: The Movie." Is that at all what it's like?

Rise from your grave!

Had to come back and say that some of your songs have come up in my random playlist, Pat, and you did a nice job on them!  I'm not really into piano music, so I can't think of one where I said "ooh, that one's amazing," but there also hasn't been one yet where I thought "ooh, that's not very good.  I'm skipping this one," and that's saying something. :D

Seriously, I was THIS close to thinking you guys were just screwing with us for a second.  Sunshine, Moon...

"Ooh, I like Tree too.  Grass was OK, but a little slow to develop."

"No way - how can you like Tree, but say Grass was slow?!"

Next time, check runpee.com before the movie.  Or if you see a lot of movies, you might think it's worth $2 for the iPhone app. :D

9-

...Those looking for great visuals and action will get what they are looking for, while those looking for a great story should probably stick to Pixar (for now).

That was my impression as well.  The plot wasn't the best - huge holes, and why is it that 9 is a hero in the end?  If he hadn't screwed things up, they'd all still be alive, instead of half being dead.  But it looked great, the action was cool, and I liked it overall.

Dios - nice hat!  I'm a hat guy myself.  They're coming back.

Also, the TV version was terrible. :D
