1891  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Project: Find something new in your town. on: April 28, 2010, 02:07:41 PM
OK, time to dredge up an old thread. :)

I've posted plenty here about geocaching, but I had to come back and post some more.  Earlier this week, we found our 200th cache.  We've found 100 in the past 30 days, and as for the other 100... well, we found our first in April of 2007. So needless to say, we've been finding a lot more this year than in years past. :D

Had to post that SOMEWHERE, and here seemed like the best place. :)

Can a game try to soft?

No one TRIES to soft - it just happens. But they tell me it happens to everyone sometimes, so they shouldn't feel bad about it.

Watched the entire series of Twin Peaks over the last few weeks.  Cool stuff, but the last episode is perhaps the most insane hour of TV I've ever seen.  As I would have expected from Lynch. :D  Gotta watch Fire Walk With Me still.

Yep - that's the one. :)  I liked Patapon as well, in the rhythm genre, but it's pretty niche.

There's plenty of other good stuff on the PSP.  God of War, the Syphon Filter games, people who like GTA loved both GTA games that came out on PSP, Burnout Legends, I liked both Pursuit Force games (although many didn't)...

But it's true that it seems like RPGs are its strongest suit. :)

I've also only gotten motion-sick from playing FPSs.

I think they mostly put those warnings into everything because hey, if they warn you and you have a reaction, you can't sue them! :)

I just got sone playing Marvel ultimate Alliance 2 for the PS3 with my buddy.

Man, just be glad you didn't play it on the DS.  :D  (I played it on DS and PSP for site reviews.)
1898  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: Why is everything-media becoming 3D? on: April 18, 2010, 11:52:21 AM
Yeah, I'm with the "who cares about 3D" camp.  Have seen several movies in 3D lately, and when I've seen the 2D version, I've never thought "wow, that was so much better in 3D."

Saw How to Train Your Dragon (in 3D) this week.  Just as good as everyone lead me to believe it would be. :)

I'm at the final boss in Final Fantasy1 - just gotta take him down, then I'm done.

Also saw Alice in Wonderland recently, thought it was good stuff, but maybe not the most amazing thing ever.

Saw Sherlock Holmes, liked it.

Watched Tropic Thunder on DVD, which I saw in the theater.  Still liked it.

And as always, I've been watching TV series on DVD - The Muppet Show, Eerie Indiana, and Twin Peaks. :)

I've been off-line for quite a while now, but have been playing FF1 on the iPod Touch - first time for me on that game.

Last weekend, I finished Uncharted 2, which was pretty cool, even though I never played the first game.

And I'm still working on Mass Effect 2.  Working on companion loyalty missions, and I think I've got one or two people to recruit still.  There's still one slot in the party chart that's still grey, so I'm wondering who's still missing.  Or if I screwed something up, or who knows?  I guess I'll find out at some point.

And tonight, I picked up Disgaea 3 at the local EB Games.  It had a $40 price tag on it, but for some unspecified reason, it was on sale for $20, which is awesome.  I loved the first two, so I'm looking forward to starting it!
1903  Media / Brush and Quill / Re: Book Thread Continued on: April 08, 2010, 10:32:19 PM
Just bought and started reading a book called "The Black Company," by Glen Cook.  It's a fantasy book that focuses on a mercenary company.  One of the quotes on the back says it's like a book about the Vietnam war on peyote.  So far, so good, but I'm not that far in.
1904  Media / Single-Player RPGs / Re: Fallout: New Vegas Teaser on: February 13, 2010, 11:24:14 PM
I'm a total sucker, I know - but the instant I saw that teaser, I got chills.  So excited to play this game.

I'm still on my Planet of the Apes kick - working my way through the TV series, and have been surprised by the quality.  It's pretty good stuff!
