I've just read the first one - The Color of Magic (or is it Colour?  Don't have it with me now.)  It was good stuff.  I have a few others, but I haven't done the research to know if I can read them or if I need to read some other books before the ones I have.

Er... Christopher Lloyd played the dad in Sound of Music?  You're clearly not talking about the Julie Andrews version...

Oh, KillerArmoire, is your signature a quote from Clue?

I hope it's intended to be, because it totally is!  I <3 that movie a bunch.

Quote I always want to use but don't because it doesn't make any sense if you haven't seen the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92IkddsjtAA

Oh, and yay Pac-man!

Haha - funny what boredom can do for you. :)

I've been very pleasantly surprised.  Was able to play through the whole game (again), and as long as I left the laptop plugged in, no framerate issues, even though my lappy's crappy.

Yeah, looks like there are some - including a port of Zenonia from the iPhone.  I don't want to search too much, though - might make myself all jealous. :)
1972  Media / The Soundroom / Re: On Starting an RPGmusic podcast on: May 15, 2010, 11:04:56 PM
I used to do a music podcast, and I kept it restricted to just my friends for exactly that reason.  I "distributed" it by setting up a gmail account, emailing the podcasts to myself, and having my friends log on and download the show.  Just didn't want to deal with the whole copyright thing.

Here's what a guy whose music podcast gets thousands of listeners has to say on the subject:

Outstanding.  I own this on Xbox already, my laptop probably can't play it, and I'm STILL going to download it. :D

On almost the other end of the spectrum, I had to pop in again to say that a while ago, I bought a bluetooth headset made by Rocketfish.  Cost me about $50, but apparently, you can get them for about $27 now.

http://www.google.com/products/catalog?q=rocketfish+bluetooth+headphones&oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&rlz=1R1GGGL_en&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=13193931539127722604&ei=1mrpS63dCISmswOVq-H3Bw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=3&ved=0CCwQ8wIwAg#ps-sellers

I love them.  They sound pretty good, and they mean no more stupid wires when I'm trying to listen to music.  They connect to my iPod Touch and my phone at the same time, and if a call comes in, answering the call pauses the music.  Then, when I hang up, it unpauses.  The one bad thing is that apparently the microphone quality is kinda crappy.  But since I rarely use them for actually talking on the phone, that doesn't matter to me. :)

Haha - well done, sir!  You got me right back there.

Congrats on the success!

Sorry, buddy, but you lost me when you pluralized "writer" by adding an apostrophe. :)

OK, time to dredge up an old thread. :)

I've posted plenty here about geocaching, but I had to come back and post some more.  Earlier this week, we found our 200th cache.  We've found 100 in the past 30 days, and as for the other 100... well, we found our first in April of 2007. So needless to say, we've been finding a lot more this year than in years past. :D

Had to post that SOMEWHERE, and here seemed like the best place. :)
1979  The Rest / General Discussions / Re: a "morality in gaming" article I wrote on a blog on: April 28, 2010, 11:31:39 AM
Can a game try to soft?

No one TRIES to soft - it just happens. But they tell me it happens to everyone sometimes, so they shouldn't feel bad about it.

Watched the entire series of Twin Peaks over the last few weeks.  Cool stuff, but the last episode is perhaps the most insane hour of TV I've ever seen.  As I would have expected from Lynch. :D  Gotta watch Fire Walk With Me still.
