Went to Inkheart yesterday and thought it was pretty good. Haven't read the book yet, but my wife had, and she thought it was pretty good as well.  Said it followed the major events from the book, but tended to arrive at them in different ways than the book did.

Oh, forgot to say that Liev Schreiber (spelling?  too lazy to find out right now) did a really good job.  Looking forward to his Sabertooth.

Watched Defiance last night.  Thought it was pretty good.  I was surprised that the theater was totally full on a Monday night two weeks after the film came out.  Some folks seemed a little more enthusiastic about it than it really deserved, but mostly it was nice being in a responsive audience.

The ending is SeSeven (because that's how it's really spelled when you write it as Se7en)...

Wouldn't it be SeSevenen?

;)

Dark City - Worth it for the awesome visuals and atsmosphere alone.

Se7en - They made the ending out to be more epic than it really was. I thought it was decent, but overrated by lots of people.

Did you see the Director's Cut of Dark City?  That's the only version I've seen, and apparently the few little changes they made were totally worth it.  In the original, there's a bunch of narration over the beginning that gives away the whole movie.  In the Director's Cut, they took out the narration.

And you're not along about Se7en.  It was creepy, but it arguably doesn't even make sense.
Code:
The wife wasn't envious, so he shouldn't have killed HER for envy.  He should have committed suicide in some envious way after finding someone angry to kill with their own anger.

I love you John.

And lucky for him, someone else does, too. :D

I always hated when you had an enemy that exploded on death.  Fire enchanted, I think it was?  Anyway, it stunk when they'd kill you by dying.  Lightning enchanted sucks too... but everyone felt the same way about them.

I only took up hardcore long after I first played, and I never cared for it as much as soft.  I had a tendency to forget that I was playing as someone who could die permanently... which is bad. :)

I loved Shoot Em Up, in large part for just the reason you said: it's exactly what you expect it to be.  Plus, he kills guys with carrots.  Awesome.

...I can always stick forks into my eye and read the Wheel of Time again.

I've been thinking very hard about doing that too.  Er... reading the Wheel of Time books again, not the fork thing. :D  I know I'm going to need to before I read the final book, and it will supposedly be released late in 2009, so I'd probably better get started.

I recently read the last book in the City of Ember series, and it was really good.  In case you haven't read that series, I must say it's a quick, easy read (it's technically for teens), and books 1, 2, and 4 are great.  Book 3 is a crappy prequel that has nothing to do with the rest of the series, so feel free to skip it.

Saw part of It's a Wonderful Life on TV and part of National Treasure 2 on Blu-Ray.  Otherwise, been watching TV shows on DVD: Simpsons, Fraggle Rock, and Dead Like Me.

You know, I've heard a lot of people say that about Hancock.  I totally didn't feel that way.  I understand why other people did, but I felt like the "twist" wasn't any crazier than having Jason Bateman's character being a totally forthright, honest, and nice PR guy.  No offense to anyone who is in PR (and I know there's at least one person here who is), but in my experience, that is not a job for nice, honest guys.

Then again, I have admittedly crappy taste in movies. :D

My problem with it was the crazy editing any time things got a little tense.  The fight in the hotel room was two very similar-looking white blond guys in black clothes with pointy things.  "Who just got cut?"  "I have no freaking clue.  They keep cutting to a different shot every 1/4 of a second."

Saw Bolt in 2D with my friend who was in it today.  I had already seen it in 3D, and I really liked the 3D, but after seeing it both ways, I'd say that it didn't make a huge difference in my enjoyment of the movie.  Loved it both times.

Also saw Dark City tonight for the first time - bought the Director's Cut cheap yesterday, and after seeing online what ws different between the two versions, I'm glad that I saw this version.

Watched Kung Fu Panda yesterday - not the first time I'd seen it, but it was the first time for me on DVD.

And a couple of days ago, I watched Fire Down Below (a Seagal flick).  Wasn't amazing, wasn't the worst thing I've ever watched.

Wow - I don't know the last time I saw this many movies in one week...

I'm still reading Inkspell.

I have Inkheart (and I think I also have Inkspell), but haven't even picked it up off the stack.  I saw a trailer today for the movie and thought "I bet that's a good book."  I'm going to have to move it up to the top of the stack. :)
