Haven't played much FE in anticipation of Three Houses but I am currently revising Fates Birthright. Not much out of the ordinary this playthrough, but I do plan to play Azura and Azama's paralogues as I've never done them before.

Bought a Switch yesterday from a friend that wanted to part with his. Atm I'm playing New Super Mario Bros Deluxe. So far its been a solid platforming experience and the level design feels much better than NSMB2. Recently completed the ice world. I was stuck on the boo house in that world for quite a while.

Played through Trine 2 again this weekend. I've beaten the base game a couple times but now I've completed Goblin Menace which I picked up for super cheap at Steam's Summer sale. This is one series I've been trying to convince some of my friends to get into.

This game along with its predecessor is the puzzle-platformer genre at its best. The base game is a great experience yet I found Goblin Menace to have a superb amount of creativity and variety despite boasting about half the levels. Either cloudy isles or belly of the beast stand as my favourite level in this expansion.

I'm not sure how I feel about canto returning. Personally I prefer the way it worked in the GBA games where it didn't apply for attacking but you could still use it for rescue and trading shenanigans. In some maps in the series if you're not too careful you could run into a situation where mounted units during enemy phase would all gang up one unit taking advantage of canto(i.e. chapter 2 of fe4).

Crests being similar to holy blood on the other hand has me really excited. High growth rates are a given but can we also expect boosts to weapon rank? The holy blood mechanic made pairing up characters very interesting as some units could start out in A or S rank territory.

I received Baba is You for my birthday a few days ago. So far I've beaten enough levels in the second world to advance to the third. It's an interesting puzzle game due to the fact you constantly have to change the rules. Some of the puzzles had me stumped for quite a while.

One major detail I forgot to add in my opening post was Forseti's great availability. If you follow a certain popular pairing you have access to the weapon from chapter 4 onwards and it will also be the first holy weapon to debut in the second generation.

I got the normal ending in Wargroove today. Will attempt to get the best possible ending in the future. For now I can say I was very pleased with the game. I felt it really filled my Advance Wars void since there hasn't been an entry in that series for 11 years. Most of the units were basically equivalents from AW but a lot of them were quite balanced. Rangers, for example I found to be an improvement over artillery as they could move and attack as well as target aerial units. Regarding other gameplay elements I liked the fact fortifications had hp, commanders could participate in battle and some of the grooves were quite original. Solid turn based strategy through and through.

As an extra note I'd say the review on this site was spot on!

I started playing Wargroove this weekend. So far it's been a quality Advance Wars substitute. I like some of the things if does to stand out such as letting your commanders participate in battles. Most recently I fought my first battle against vampires and that map was quite a difficulty spike but I still managed to get an S-rank.

I will say, though, for classic games, even though it isn't an RPG, improving the Master Sword all the way to Golden Sword in Link to the Past always felt absolutely wonderful.
I was glad you could do the same thing in a Link Between Worlds.

Beat South Park the Fractured but Whole today.

I'm probably in the minority but I think I enjoyed this one more than the stick of Truth. While the combat felt slower than SOT I was really surprised the game had grid based battles and many characters made good use of this approach. Some of my favourite characters to use include Jimmy and Wendy. I don't seem to get why some reviewers said the game wasn't as funny as the first since I found a lot to laugh at such as the drunk Randy Marsh boss battles and spotting microaggressions. Other stuff I liked about the game were the fart abilities, puzzles and the fact the town of South Park felt bigger.

Started South Park the Fractured but Whole today. I'm still early in the game but so far I like the grid based combat system. I recently won the battle at Raisins and met up with Mosquito.

The first topic I created when I joined this website was dedicated to the nice weapons you get at the early portions of the games we play. Now I want to hear about games on the opposite side of the spectrum, the busted, legendary and overpowered ones.

My top pick would have to be Forseti from Fire Emblem Genealogy of the Holy War. In this entry holy weapons provide enormous stat bonuses often at a grand total of 30 unlike most games where its about 5. The +20 boost to speed and +10 skill ensures that the wielder will activate the adept and critical skills quite frequently. The huge boost to speed amplifies the avoid stat to the point that some enemies will not even bother to attack the Forseti wielder. I've lost track of how many enemies particularly bosses were one hit ko'd by this weapon. Lastly, the weapon triangle advantage against thunder is also quite helpful since many enemy mages use it and several major antagonists specialize in it.

I look forward to hearing eveyone else's picks. I'm sure you guys can think of superb and even more op examples.

Beat South Park the Stick of Truth this Saturday afternoon. This game was fanservice done right as I was overloaded with memorable references to the show. Some of the abilities you could pull off were cool and the same goes for your party members. As a con I'd say I had difficulty with some of the quick time events especially the Simon says minigames on the spaceship. Also visiting Canada was cool as they made my home country look like an 8-bit rpg.

Great debut trailer that has me excited. Not sure which starter I'll go with. The water one definitely has a Mudkip vibe.
